rcourtman f94b10b4dd Seed store-backed chart benchmarks once per run 
Go calls a benchmark function again for every b.N it tries. Each of the
two store-backed chart benchmarks seeded 84,000 points into a fresh
SQLite store, about 0.6 s, to time a request of 0.2 ms or less, and did
so two or three times per sample. In CI they took 3.5 s and 3.6 s of
internal/api's 11.5 s per sample, for about 0.1 s of timed work each.

The timed loop now runs in a range=4h sub-benchmark. A benchmark with
sub-benchmarks runs once, so the parent seeds its store once per run
while the data, request and sanity checks stay the same, and bytes and
allocations per op are unchanged. Locally the pair falls from about 6 s
to 1-1.5 s. The names gain /range=4h, so the first paired comparison
reports them unmatched.

Internal API Package

This directory contains the API server implementation for Pulse.

Important Note About frontend-modern/

The frontend-modern/ subdirectory that appears here is:

  • AUTO-GENERATED during builds
  • NOT the source code - just a build artifact
  • IN .gitignore - never committed
  • REQUIRED BY GO - The embed directive needs it here

Frontend Development Location

👉 Edit frontend files at: ${PULSE_REPOS_DIR}/pulse/frontend-modern/src/

Why This Structure?

Go's //go:embed directive has limitations:

  1. Cannot use ../ paths to access parent directories
  2. Cannot follow symbolic links
  3. Must embed files within the Go module

This is a known Go limitation and our structure works around it.
