Anso cfb42af4e0 fix: assorted UI/UX polish fixes (#1670)
* fix(dashboard): replace Stack Health update badge with an icon

The pill badge duplicated space already used by the stack name column.
A CircleArrowUp icon after the name signals an update is available
without competing with the existing ArrowUp/ArrowDown sort indicators
in the same table.

* fix(dashboard): add accessible name to update-available icon

Icon-only indicators need an aria-label directly on the icon; title on
a non-interactive span is not reliably announced by screen readers.

* test(dashboard): cover the update-available icon's accessible name

The icon-only indicator and its aria-label fix had no regression
guard, unlike the equivalent update dot in StackRow.

* refactor(dashboard): compute the update-available label once per row

It was being derived twice (title and aria-label) from the same
row.outdatedServices input.

* fix: drop Community-tier pricing upsells from settings

Community operators no longer see the "See pricing" link in Licensing
or the "Need direct support?" callout in Support. The pricing link now
only shows for an expired paid license needing to renew.

* fix: make Resources images/volumes tables actually scrollable

The tables were wrapped in a Radix ScrollArea sized with max-h-[62vh].
Radix's viewport uses height:100%, which cannot resolve against an
ancestor whose computed height is auto (max-height alone isn't a
definite height), so the viewport silently grew past the visible box
and the extra rows were clipped with no way to reach them. Verified
live: several image rows were permanently unreachable, with no working
internal scrollbar and not enough outer page scroll to compensate.

Switched to an explicit h-[62vh], which the viewport can resolve
correctly, matching every other working ScrollArea in the codebase.
Falls back to h-auto below the md breakpoint so the bespoke mobile
layout keeps shrinking to content and scrolling via the outer page
instead of gaining a fixed-height inner scroll box.

* fix: apply ScrollArea definite-height fix across remaining lists

Radix ScrollArea needs an explicit height, not max-height, or the
viewport collapses and clipped rows become unreachable. Extend the
Resources fix to security, settings, git, and create/import surfaces,
and drop redundant outer wrappers where ModalBody already scrolls.

* fix: migrate Networking tables to Radix ScrollArea

Networks and Findings used native max-h + overflow-auto, which worked
but broke glass scrollbar consistency with Resources and the design
system. Switch them to ScrollArea with a definite height and the same
mobile fallback as the other inventory tables.

* fix: warn Classic bar users that the style is retiring soon

When Appearance Navigation is set to Classic bar, show the same warn
SettingsCallout pattern used for Constrained graphics. Preference is
kept until removal; no alternate style is named in the copy.

* fix: move Channels delivery retries below channel tabs

Put channel configuration first and keep Delivery retries as a shared
footer control under the Discord/Slack/Webhook/Apprise tabs.

* fix: drop redundant More masthead from Smart bar overflow menu

The trigger already reads More, so the dropdown masthead repeated the
same label. Leave titled mastheads on Compact Navigate and Add quick
link menus.

* test: align Smart More E2E with masthead removal

The overflow menu no longer shows a More heading. Assert the menu via
the Logs item and lock that the redundant masthead stays gone.

* fix: consolidate Fleet Map toolbar filters into a single row

Adopt the same retractable search control used on Fleet > Overview and
move the flag filters (missing deps, port conflicts, orphans, shared)
onto the toolbar row right after the Graph/List selector. The node
filter becomes a dropdown instead of individual toggle chips so it
does not clutter the row as fleet size grows.

* fix: move Networking Topology filters onto the search toolbar row

Merge the ownership selector and boolean filter chips (include system,
exposed, drift, missing external, shared) onto the same row as the
stack/network search inputs, matching the Fleet Map toolbar layout.

* fix: default the reclaimable-space banner off

Resources > Docker & Storage's "Show reclaimable-space banner" toggle
now defaults to off instead of on. Also flips the /settings fetch
failure path to fail closed (hide the banner) to match the new
default, instead of failing open.

* fix: raise Compact launcher quick links cap from 5 to 7

* fix: add Discord link to Settings Support Self-serve

Gives users a community chat channel alongside Documentation and
GitHub Issues, using the official Discord mark since lucide-react
has no brand icon for it.

* fix: stop container NET I/O metric row height jump

Give NET I/O more column share than CPU/MEM and keep metric
values on one line with truncate so three-digit rates cannot
grow the strip.

* fix: elevate Doctor tab between Activity and Drift

Make Compose Doctor easier to find in the anatomy strip by placing
it with the ops judgment cluster, ahead of Dossier and inventory tabs.

Anso ed5ca9c4f6 fix(fleet): refresh prune reclaimable estimate after successful run (#1675)
* fix(fleet): refresh prune reclaimable estimate after successful run

The live estimate only re-ran when targets or scope changed, so the
toolbar and per-node reclaimable figures stayed stale after a real prune.
Invalidate via estimateEpoch when any non-dry-run target succeeds.

* fix(fleet): toast partial prune success honestly

A reachable node with mixed per-target outcomes made okNodes zero and
showed a total-failure toast even when some targets mutated Docker.
Gate the failure toast on zero successful targets anywhere.

Anso 83b3d932e5 feat: add Apprise as a fourth notification channel (#1644)
* feat: add Apprise as a fourth notification channel

Support keyed and stateless Apprise endpoints with secret-safe public DTOs, fail-closed malformed config, and mode-specific Settings UI. Docs and screenshots updated for four-channel Channels and routing.

* fix: harden Apprise secrets at rest and preserve-on-write saves

Encrypt Apprise endpoint and config with CryptoService so a downgrade cannot leak via SELECT *. Align channel and routing saves so blank destination fields omit config on same-mode URL edits, enforce keyed notify IDs, and keep secrets_redacted truthful.

* fix: harden Apprise route type changes and mixed-version config UI

Require a raw channel_url when switching notification-route types so ciphertext cannot strand under Discord/Slack/webhook. Default missing remote apprise status, replace Channels state on node switch, and exercise the production config-column migrator.

* fix: tolerate stub fleet configuration payloads without agents

Normalize remote Apprise agent status only when notifications.agents is present so successful Pilot/stub fetches stay online instead of throwing into the offline catch path.

* fix: correct TypeScript in configuration normalize tests

* fix: ignore stale Channels agent bodies after node switch

Compare the active node after response JSON parsing so a slow body
cannot overwrite the newly selected node's channel state.

* fix: isolate corrupt Apprise crypto and keep keyed Tags visible

Decrypt failures on one Apprise row no longer 500 agent/route lists or
suppress sibling channel dispatch. Treat public /notify/<redacted> as keyed
so Tags remain editable after reload.

Anso 3fed67a3f1 fix: assorted UI polish across Home, Security, and Resources pages (#1590)
* fix: polish stack health table, security card heights, and scanner-gate copy

- Remove state dot column from Stack Health rows; state still signaled
via row tinting and sparkline color
- Reposition Update available badge adjacent to stack name and track
the theme accent (--brand) instead of static fuchsia
- Equalize Top exploit-risk findings and Severity x exploitability
card heights via h-full in a stretching grid
- Add resolution prop to CapabilityGate so scanner-gated tabs show
"Install a scanner from the Scanner setup tab." instead of the
  misleading "Upgrade the node" message

* fix: scope Resources scroll area to table contents only

- Remove bg-background from the outer wrapper so search/filter bars
no longer sit on a dark strip
- Replace outer ScrollArea with a plain div so search and filter
controls stay fixed while only table rows scroll
- Add ScrollArea (max-h-[62vh]) inside each table card for Images,
  Volumes, and Networks tabs

* fix: remove static bg-background from Security table scroll areas

Images and History tab tables used bg-background on their ScrollArea,
forcing a near-black fill that didn't adapt to the theme. Removing it
lets the parent card's bg-card show through, matching the Resources
table pattern that correctly respects DIM, OLED, and Light modes.

* fix: collapsible search icon and transparent Combobox across Resources and Security

- Replace always-visible search inputs on Resources tabs (Images,
Volumes, Networks) and Security Images (desktop + mobile) with
Fleet-style collapsible search: an icon button that expands to
a full input on click, collapses on blur when empty
- Add [&>button]:!bg-background to Security Images severity
Combobox, matching Fleet's transparent dropdown design

* fix: remove redundant orange badge from Unmanaged tab label

The count was shown twice: once as inline text in the tab and again
as an orange bg-warning pill badge. The inline text remains; the
duplicate badge is removed.

* fix: outline buttons invisible in Light mode

- Changed outline variant border from border-input to border so it
uses --card-border, which maintains a visible 0.035 lightness gap
from --background in Light mode (was 0.005, essentially invisible)
- Boosted Light-mode --button-inner-glow from a 4% white inset to
a 10% inset plus a subtle drop shadow for the physical-key feel

* fix: bump table cell horizontal padding from 8px to density-aware token

Changed TableHead and TableCell px-2 (8px) to px-[var(--density-row-x)]
which resolves to 20px comfortable / 16px compact. Matches the density
system used by StackHealthTable and gives every shadcn-based table
proper breathing room on both edges.

* fix: expand collapsible search before typing in ImagesTab test

The test was written for the old always-visible search input. Now that
the search bar collapses to an icon, click it first to expand before
interacting with the input.

* fix: reorder Settings Infrastructure to Nodes, Stacks, Fleet

Move the Stacks section directly below Nodes so the Infrastructure
sidebar reads Nodes, Stacks, Fleet. Pure array-element relocation in
the settings registry; the sidebar renders in array order.

* fix: simplify pilot enroll command and add Step 2 copy button

Step 2 of the pilot-agent enrollment modal now shows "docker compose up
-d" instead of the redundant "-f compose.yaml" form, since Step 1
already has the operator save the file as the default compose.yaml. Add
an inline copy button next to the command so it can be copied without
selecting the text by hand.

* fix: stack Fleet/Security tab heading actions on mobile

The shared FleetTabHeading kept its title and action buttons on one row
at every width, so on phones the Security Suppressions heading and its
Export VEX / Add suppression buttons were crammed together. Stack the
heading and actions vertically below the md breakpoint and restore the
original row layout at md and up, so desktop is unchanged.

* feat: add node selector to mobile Home masthead

The mobile Home page showed the active node as static text, so switching
nodes was only possible from the Stacks page. Render the same compact
NodeSwitcher in the Home masthead kicker slot, giving a second place to
view and switch the active node with the identical popover and Manage
nodes action.

Anso bbcc4b59e4 fix: UI polish - tooltips, masthead, tabs, settings, and layout consistency (#1563)
* fix: increase masthead rail shimmer visibility

Bumped shimmer highlight opacity from 25% to 50% and reduced
animation duration from 11s to 5s, matching the login page
AuthCanvas shimmer precedent (via-white/60 at 4.5s).

* fix: reduce masthead rail opacity to match login page pattern

Changed all MastheadRail background classes from 100% to 70% opacity
(bg-brand → bg-brand/70, etc.) so the shimmer highlight reads as a surface
reflection rather than a detached floating bar. Matches the AuthCanvas
login card precedent.

* fix: improve masthead rail glow visibility

Replaced the invisible inset box-shadow glow (10px blur inside a 3px
element) with a white overlay that pulses opacity 0.15-0.55 over 4s.
Sped up glow animation from 5.5s to 4s for a more noticeable breath.

* fix: replace cursor-follow tooltip with standard Radix tooltip in sidebar rows

Replaced the Cursor/CursorFollow animate-ui primitives in StackRow
with the standard Radix Tooltip/TooltipTrigger/TooltipContent already
used throughout the app. The custom cursor dot that followed the mouse
is gone; tooltips now appear as static popovers on hover/touch.

* fix: wrap tooltip icon triggers in span for Radix compatibility

TooltipTrigger asChild requires a native element to forward props.
Lucide icon components did not reliably receive data-state and event
handlers, so tooltips on the check-failed and git-pending indicators
did not open. Wrapped each icon in a span.

* fix: rename Notification Routing to Routing in settings sidebar

* fix: replace Timeline/All tasks buttons with SegmentedControl

The two loose Button elements had indistinguishable selected/unselected
states (secondary vs ghost). Replaced with the SegmentedControl component
already used elsewhere on the same page, which has a clear active
highlight indicator.

* fix: standardize Blueprint empty state headings to font-heading

Replaced manual font-serif [font-style:var(--heading-style)] with the
font-heading class on the main heading and three step titles so the
Deployments empty state follows the same heading convention as the
rest of the app and respects the Calm/Signature theme toggle.

* fix: remove custom tooltip styling, use standard TooltipContent defaults

The RowTooltip wrapped its label in a font-mono text-stat-value span
instead of using the TooltipContent base styling (text-xs
text-popover-foreground) like every other tooltip in the app.

* Revert "fix: remove custom tooltip styling, use standard TooltipContent defaults"

This reverts commit 209fbd2742.

* fix: standardize all tooltips to match sidebar RowTooltip design

Wrapped every TooltipContent child in a font-mono text-xs
tabular-nums text-stat-value span so all tooltips across the app
share a consistent look. Previously some used plain text, others
used <p> elements with different fonts and sizes.

* Revert "fix: standardize all tooltips to match sidebar RowTooltip design"

This reverts commit 9e1d97d39e.

* fix: bake standard tooltip styling into TooltipContent component

Added font-mono tabular-nums text-stat-value directly to the
TooltipContent base styles so every tooltip in the app inherits
the same look without per-instance wrappers. Removed the now-
redundant span from StackRow's RowTooltip.

* fix: replace custom tooltip with shadcn/ui Radix tooltip

Replaced the glass/blur-styled tooltip with the standard shadcn/ui
pattern: bg-foreground/text-background, arrow pointer, proper
slide/fade animations, and w-fit max-w-xs sizing. This gives all
tooltips a consistent dark-solid look across the entire app.

* fix: apply glass/blur design to shadcn tooltip component

Replaced the solid bg-foreground/text-background style with the app's
glass design: bg-popover, border-glass-border, backdrop-blur, and
text-popover-foreground. Kept the shadcn structure (Portal, Arrow,
slide/fade animations).

* fix: replace native title tooltips with Radix tooltips on Fleet toolbar

Converted Refresh, Export Dossier, Search, Sort direction, Node Update,
and Manage Nodes buttons from native HTML title attributes to the shared
Radix Tooltip component so they match the app-wide glass tooltip design.

* fix: replace native title tooltip on Fleet Snapshots upload button

* fix: replace native title tooltips with Radix tooltips on Resources page

Converted all actionable button tooltips (Open stack, Inspect image,
Scan, Browse volume, and delete buttons) plus the SenchoBadge
informational tooltip. Wrapped disabled protected-resource delete
buttons in span triggers so tooltips fire on disabled elements.

* fix: replace native title tooltips with Radix tooltips on Security page

Converted scanner info icon, exploitability n/a badge, and scan
image button from native HTML title attributes to the shared Radix
Tooltip component.

* fix: replace native title tooltips with Radix tooltips on Schedules and Settings pages

Converted Run now, Execution history, Edit, Delete buttons on Schedules;
Download/Delete on Cloud Backup; Send test/Edit/Delete on Notification
Routing; Reset 2FA on Users; and Edit/Remove suppression on
Suppressions panel. Skipped SettingsSection/Modal title props which
are React component props, not native HTML attributes.

* feat: add copy button to execution history details column

Replaced the plain truncated Details cell with a flex layout containing
a copy button. Users can now copy the full error/output text instead
of relying on the native title tooltip to read long messages.

* fix: change tab highlight from neutral to brand color

Replaced bg-glass-highlight with bg-brand/20 on all TabsHighlight
instances and updated TabsTrigger active state to text-brand,
matching the SegmentedControl selected style. Works on both
dark and light themes.

* fix: restructure Resources page tabs to match Fleet/Security pattern

Moved tab band out of the outer card into a standalone full-width
element. Replaced custom FilterToggle with Fleet-style Button
toggles. Added search inputs per tab. Wrapped each resource table
in a card container matching the Security Images table design.

* fix: match Resources tab font size to Fleet and Security

Removed explicit text-xs from Resources TabsTrigger elements so they
use the default text-sm, matching Fleet and Security tab typography.

* fix: restore missing closing bracket on TabsTrigger tag

* fix: add aria-labels to schedule action buttons, update test selectors

Replaced native title attributes with aria-labels on Run now,
Execution history, Edit, and Delete buttons so the Radix tooltip
conversion does not break test selectors that relied on title.
Updated tests from findByTitle to findByRole.

* fix: add fingerprint-based dismiss to post-deploy scan banner

Created useScanBannerDismiss hook following the usePreflightDismiss
pattern. The banner now persists dismissal in localStorage keyed to a
fingerprint of scan status + attemptedAt. Dismissal survives page
reloads for the same scan outcome, and the banner automatically
reappears when a new scan runs or the status changes.

* fix: update Configuration Status card labels and add new rows

Notifications section: renamed Notification agents to Channels,
Notification routing to Routing, added Mute Rules row linking to
notification-suppression settings.

Security section: added Trivy installed Yes/No row, renamed
Vulnerability scanning to Scan policies.

Backend: added trivyInstalled and suppressionRules fields to
the /dashboard/configuration payload.

* fix: style Trivy row as badge and link to Security scanner setup

* fix: remove Mute button from stack anatomy panel header

* Revert "fix: remove Mute button from stack anatomy panel header"

This reverts commit 16843a81b5.

* fix: remove Mute button from stack anatomy panel header

* fix: remove unused stackMuteActions imports and props from StackAnatomyPanel

The removal of the ActivityMuteKebab rendering left orphaned imports
and props that cause TS6133 errors under strict mode. Clean up the
imports, prop type, destructuring, and caller prop passes.

* fix: refine anatomy tab sizing and add pulsing scroll chevron

Changed anatomy tabs from 12px fixed height to 11px with py-1
padding, matching the Fleet tab approach. Bumped Files/Edit buttons
from 10px to xs for better visibility. Added subtle animate-pulse
to the right scroll chevron to hint at overflow tabs, gated behind
the Reduced effects appearance setting.

* fix: link reclaim hero number to heading style

* fix: replace native title tooltips with Radix tooltips on stack detail page

Converted Expand/Collapse logs, Stats unavailable, Copy service URL,
Dismiss findings, Likely secret badge, Move up/down, and Remove
buttons from native HTML title attributes to the shared Radix
glass tooltip component.

* fix: replace native title tooltip on image source link button

* fix: add tooltips to container logs and bash session buttons

* fix: add tooltip to download logs button

* fix: add tooltip to copy digest button

* fix: replace cursor-follow tooltip with Radix tooltip on severity badge

* fix: add tooltips to density toggle buttons

* feat: add expand button to multi-container health panel

Added an expand/collapse toggle next to the density controls that
expands the containers panel to fill the column and hides the logs
section. The expand and logs-expand are mutually exclusive. Only
appears for stacks with more than one container.

* fix: reduce Structured/Raw terminal toggle font to 10px

* fix: set compact density as default for multi-container stacks

* fix: change Feedback to Open New Issue with GitHub issues link

* fix: replace ExternalLink with GitHub icon for Open New Issue menu item

* fix: restore ExternalLink import needed by other menu items

* fix: default host threshold alerts to off for new installations

* fix: resolve CI typecheck and test failures

Broaden MenuRowProps.icon type to accept custom SVG components alongside
lucide icons, fixing TS2741 on GitHubIcon import.

Update host_alerts_enabled seed test assertion to match the new opt-in
default of off (0).

* fix: update ContainersHealth tests for compact default density

Adjust three tests to reflect the new default of compact mode:
- Rename 'detailed mode is the default' to 'compact mode is the default'
- Update sparkline visibility checks to switch to detailed first
- Rename remount test and verify reset to compact (new default)

Anso 1dc12f7da8 fix: bind fleet stop-by-label to the exact confirmed nodes and stacks (#1506)
A fleet stop re-matched stacks by label name at execution, so a stack that
gained the label between the operator's preview and confirmation could be
stopped even though it never appeared in the confirmation. A confirmed node
that was deleted after the preview also vanished from the results, letting the
remaining successes read as a clean stop.

The confirm flow now sends the exact node and stack list resolved in the
preview. Each node's stop is bound to that set: only stacks that are still
label-matched and confirmed are stopped, and a confirmed node missing from the
registry is reported as an explicit failure rather than dropped.

Anso 05c483f213 fix: harden cross-node fleet label actions and guard container reads (#1503)
* fix: harden cross-node fleet label actions and guard container reads

Release-stabilization fixes for the Fleet Actions surface:

- Stop-by-label binds execution to the nodes shown in the confirmed
preview. The real stop sends the confirmed node ids and the backend
restricts the fan-out to them, so a node that was unreachable during
preview and reconnects before the stop can no longer enter execution
  and have unlisted stacks stopped.
- Bulk label assign validates each remote node's result against the
stacks it was asked to label: a body whose results are empty, partial,
duplicated, or shaped wrong is a per-node failure instead of reading as
a successful zero-stack assign. The card mirrors this, rejecting a
missing or non-array results body and only reporting success when at
  least one stack was assigned.
- Bulk label assign re-reads authoritative per-node stacks and labels on
demand via a Refresh control, and the confirmation lists the affected
node and stack names rather than bare counts.
- The stack-specific and fleet container/stack read routes require the
stack:read permission, matching the generic container and stack routes.
Every shipped role already carries stack:read, so reachability is
unchanged; the guard closes the routes that were auth-only.

Adds unit coverage for the assign-result validator, route coverage for
the stop allowlist and assign membership checks, and authorization
coverage for the newly guarded reads.

* test: assert the confirmed node allowlist in the fleet stop-card test

The stop-card component test pinned the real-stop request body to
{ labelName, dryRun } and broke once the stop began carrying the
confirmed-preview node ids. Update it to expect the nodeIds allowlist
derived from the resolved preview, so the test asserts the binding
rather than the pre-fix shape.

Anso b5810a9b55 feat: add Reduced motion setting and polish chrome, files, and stack-detail (#1501)
A batch of UI/UX polish:

- New independent "Reduced motion" appearance setting (separate from Reduced
effects). Drives framer-motion via MotionConfig and clamps CSS transitions via
data-motion on <html>; toasts are unaffected. Defaults off (OS preference
  still honored).
- Stack-detail Files tab: rename "Files & Volumes" to "Files", add a persisted
word-wrap toggle to the file viewer (default on), and add a fullscreen toggle
that collapses the Command Center + Logs column so the editor fills the width.
- Create Stack > From Git: remove the nested scroll clamp so the deploy toggle
  and footer are reachable.
- Fleet: full-width tab band with icon-only Refresh / Export Dossier, icon-only
  Check-for-updates / Add-node on the Overview toolbar, theme-aware empty-state
headings (calm drops the italic), and fix the Actions card body overlapping
  the action-row divider.
- Snapshots: restyle Restore and Restore all to the ghost button design used by
View / Preview / Download, and right-align the per-stack Restore.
- Settings sidebar: App Store gradient active style and standard font size.
- Compose Doctor: dismiss the high-risk banner (and clear the tab dot) until the
findings change, via a shared fingerprint-keyed hook.
- Stack-detail Storage: link the "no recent fleet snapshot" warning to the Fleet
Snapshots tab (FleetView tabs are now controlled to support the deep link).

Anso 8d9e6574cc feat(appearance): add Calm/Signature visual style, readability mode, and chart palette (#1407)
* feat(appearance): add Calm/Signature visual style, readability mode, and chart palette

Turn the "too intense / italic headers hurt / the security graph fights my
eyes" feedback into a token-driven Visual style with Calm as the new default
and Signature one click back to the prior look.

- Heading family routes through a `.font-heading` utility driven by
`--font-heading`/`--heading-style`: operational headings render upright in the
interface face under Calm and italic Instrument Serif under Signature. Base
rule sets family + style only, so each call site keeps its own weight/tracking
and Signature stays a true no-op; the Calm lift is a `[data-headings="clean"]`
descendant rule. Brand lockup, empty-state heroes, and onboarding stay serif.
- Severity charts resolve through `--sev-*` tokens with Muted, Heat, and
Signature palettes; FindingsByType routes its series through the severity ramp
plus a neutral so no brand-cyan sits next to rose. The risk trend flattens its
gradient under Muted/Heat/reduced and keeps the gradient under Signature.
- Appearance settings gain Visual style cards, a Security visualization palette,
a Readability master toggle, a Motion & effects group, and a "Reset to default"
button (restores the Calm axes, disabled while readability is on). Contrast
moves under Readability and Ambient glow under Motion & effects. A card is
selected only while the stored sub-axes match its preset, so a custom
  combination de-selects both.
- The topbar Theme quick-switch swaps the interface/data font pickers for a
Visual style switch and a Readability toggle (text size kept); its footer
Settings link jumps straight to Appearance.
- Readability is a sticky master that forces the calm resolution and a contrast
lift at apply time without mutating the stored sub-axes.
- New users default to Calm; any pre-existing persisted appearance state keeps
the Signature look. The pre-paint script mirrors the store.
- SegmentedControl gains a `disabled` prop and a nullable value (no active
segment for a custom combination, with a roving-tabindex keyboard anchor).
Adds unit/component coverage for the store, migration, chart shape logic, the
disabled control, the reset/de-selection, and the quick-switch.

* fix(appearance): migrate Blueprint serif headings and surface readability locks

- Migrate the two operational Blueprint headings (catalog tile name, drift-policy
option title) from font-serif italic to the .font-heading utility; the first
pass only covered font-display, so Calm still left these italic. font-serif and
font-display both resolve to the same display face, so this is the same fix.
- Lock the Visual style cards under Readability (parity with the topbar switch and
the on-screen guidance to turn Readability off to choose a style by hand).
- Lock the Border brightness slider under Readability and show its forced +0.03
readout, since Readability overrides the stored value; dragging it previously
  appeared to do nothing.
- Correct the Appearance docs sentence for the topbar quick switch (it listed
fonts; the quick switch now carries visual style, readability, and text size).

Anso d26ab58189 feat(fleet): cross-node bulk label assign with authoritative label discovery (#1389)
* feat(fleet): cross-node bulk label assign with authoritative label discovery

Make Fleet Actions > Bulk label assign work across the fleet. Pick a stack
label that exists anywhere in the fleet, select stacks on one or more nodes,
and the control orchestrates: each target node resolves the label by name,
creating it with the same name and color if missing, then adds it to the
selected stacks while preserving their existing labels. The local node runs
in process; each remote runs its own admin-only local-assign receiver over
the node proxy. Per-node failures (unknown node, no proxy target, unreachable,
mixed-version remote) degrade that node only and are reported per node in the
result. Assignment writes use a transactional INSERT OR IGNORE so the
add-preserve path is idempotent and race-free.

Also make the shared fleet label discovery authoritative: suggestions,
match-preview, and the fleet-stop remote leg now read each node's labels live
over the proxy instead of the control database, which does not mirror remote
labels. A propagated label therefore appears in, and is stoppable by,
Stop-by-label across the fleet, and unreachable nodes are surfaced rather than
silently dropped.

Fleet Actions runs against the unfiltered node list, so overview filters no
longer narrow its scope. The previous node-scoped, replace-by-id bulk-assign
endpoint is removed.

* fix(fleet): treat malformed remote label responses as per-node failures

A 200 response from a remote node whose body is not the expected shape was
treated as a benign empty result, so a malformed remote could read as a clean
zero-stack assign or a "matched, nothing to stop" no-op and even surface a
success toast. Validate the wire shape in the bulk-assign and fleet-stop remote
legs and in the authoritative label discovery fan-out; on a malformed body,
report the node as a per-node failure with the error attributed to its stacks
instead of silently dropping it.

Anso 2821e87d3f fix: gate fleet stop-by-label on a resolved preview and validate remote stop responses (#1392)
* fix: gate fleet stop-by-label on a resolved preview and validate remote stop responses

The destructive "Stop fleet by label" action could run before its blast
radius was known, and a malformed remote response could be rendered as a
successful zero-stack stop. Both are release blockers for the fleet
stop-by-label flow.

Gate the "Stop fleet" button on a resolved blast radius: the live
match-preview resolving to at least one matching stack, or a dry run of the
current label when the preview endpoint is unavailable. Carry the resolved
node and stack list into the confirm modal so the operator confirms against
the concrete targets rather than a label name alone. Editing the label
invalidates a prior dry-run snapshot, so a stale blast radius cannot
re-enable the action.

Validate the remote local-stop 200 body before trusting it. A body that is
not the local-stop contract (missing matched flag, non-array results, or a
malformed result element) now fails that node with a clear error, consistent
with the non-ok and unreachable paths, instead of defaulting matched to true
and results to empty.

* fix: ignore stale fleet stop-by-label preview responses after the label changes

The debounced match-preview callback set the preview state unconditionally,
so a request issued for one label that resolved after the operator switched
to another label would mark the preview ready with the old label's blast
radius. That re-enabled the destructive Stop and showed stale nodes/stacks
in the confirm modal for a label that no longer matched them.

Guard the in-flight request with a per-run cancelled flag flipped in the
effect cleanup, so a response for a label that is no longer current cannot
set the preview. This mirrors the cancellation pattern already used by the
suggestions effect. Add a test that holds a preview request in-flight,
switches the label, then resolves the stale response and asserts Stop stays
disabled and the old targets do not leak.

Anso cb58cc423f fix(fleet): resolve Stop-by-label stack labels across all nodes (#1382)
* fix(fleet): resolve Stop-by-label stack labels across all nodes

The Fleet Actions "Stop by label" card only ever saw the control node's own
stack labels. The stack-label routes are proxied, so each node stores its
labels in its own database and the control holds no mirror for remote nodes.
The suggestions, match-preview, and fleet-stop endpoints all read that
nonexistent mirror, so remote-only labels were invisible and remote stacks
were skipped before the remote was ever asked.

Make all three authoritative across the fleet with a new
collectFleetLabelSummaries helper: the local node reads its own database,
and each remote is queried live through its labels and label-assignments
endpoints over the proxy, with fail-closed parsing and per-node
reachability. fleet-stop drops the mirror pre-check and always calls each
reachable remote's local-stop receiver, reporting unreachable nodes at the
node level so they never block the reachable ones.

The picker now surfaces remote-only labels, aggregates shared names once
with combined counts and the carrying node names, and flags incomplete
coverage when a node is unreachable. The preview groups matches per node,
lists unreachable nodes separately, and distinguishes no matching stacks
from "label exists but no stacks" from "remote unavailable".

* fix(fleet): harden Stop-by-label card against malformed responses

Guard the match-preview and fleet-stop response bodies so a malformed but
200 reply degrades instead of crashing or misreporting. match-preview now
validates the per-node shape before rendering (the preview reads it outside
any try/catch) and logs a malformed body; fleet-stop distinguishes a
non-array results body (a server bug, now logged and surfaced as an
unexpected-response error) from a genuine empty fleet, and guards per-node
stackResults.

Docs: an unreachable or errored remote is reported once per node, not as a
per-stack error row.

Anso 4610a433e6 fix(fleet): scope Stop-by-label to stack labels with a typed suggestion source (#1368)
* fix(fleet): scope Stop-by-label to stack labels with a typed suggestion source

The Fleet Actions "Stop by label" card labelled its target field generically
as "Label", so a same-named node label could look like a valid stop target in
a destructive workflow. The action has always matched stack labels only, but
nothing in the copy or the data flow made that explicit.

Add a stack-label-only suggestions endpoint and make the scope unmistakable:

- New GET /api/fleet/labels/suggestions aggregates the per-node stack labels
into a name-keyed list with stack and node counts (admin-only, central DB,
covers every configured node including offline remotes). Node labels are
  never folded in.
- The card now sources its autocomplete from that endpoint and renders each
suggestion with its stack and node counts via a typed FleetStopLabelSuggestion
model, so node-label data cannot be fed into this destructive card.
- Copy is explicit throughout: "Stack label" target field with a helper line
that node labels are not used, a clear "0 matching stacks" readout and a
"No stacks are assigned to this stack label" empty preview, and confirm and
result copy that references stacks and the stack label.
- Docs updated (fleet-actions, stack-labels) and tests added on both sides,
including node-only exclusion, name collision, multi-node counts, the
  zero-stack preview, and the non-fatal suggestions-load path.

* docs: correct stale Stop-by-label button and helper references

The Stop-by-label walkthrough referenced a "Stop matching stacks" button and a
warning callout that no longer exist on the card. Align the docs with the live
card: the primary action is "Stop fleet", and the scope is stated by the helper
line under the input.

Anso 05e7db58e4 chore(deps): bump frontend dependencies (#1345)
Apply the queued frontend dependency group update (29 packages, notably
@xyflow/react 12.11.0, radix-ui minors, react 19.2.7, vite 8.0.16, and
vitest 4.1.8) and regenerate the lockfile.

@xyflow/react 12.11.0 retyped OnNodeDrag so the drag event is the DOM
MouseEvent | TouchEvent rather than a React synthetic event. Update the
FleetTopology onNodeDragStop handler signature to match.

Anso 54119be0c2 feat: move trivy auto-update, node labels, fleet topology, and single-scan SBOM to Community (#1336)
Rebalance several capabilities from the paid tier to the free Community tier:

- Managed Trivy auto-update toggle is admin-only, no longer tier-gated.
- Node labels (assign, view, manage) are available on every tier; cordon and
  FleetSync anchor reset stay paid.
- Fleet topology layout modes (Hub, Grouped, Free) are available on Community.
- Single-scan SBOM export (SPDX and CycloneDX) is admin-only on Community;
SARIF export stays paid via a dedicated canExportSarif capability split out
from the former shared SBOM flag.

Backend route guards and frontend affordances are updated together, with tier
and admin-role tests covering the Community-allowed and still-paid paths.

Anso af4083175c feat(fleet): add read-only dependency map tab (#1324)
* feat(fleet): add read-only dependency map tab

Add a fleet-wide Dependencies tab to Fleet view that maps how stacks,
services, networks, volumes, and ports relate, with flags for missing
dependencies, port conflicts, orphaned resources, and cross-stack shared
resources. Read-only; filterable by stack, node, and flag; collapsed by
default with a list-view fallback at scale.

The graph is derived at request time from Docker and compose metadata, so
no new table or persisted state is introduced. A per-node graph endpoint
feeds a hub aggregation endpoint that fans out across the fleet and
degrades gracefully, surfacing unreachable or unparseable nodes inline
while the rest of the map still renders.

* fix(fleet): harden dependency map flag detection and remote merge

Address review findings on the dependency map:
- Port-conflict detection now does pairwise host-scope overlap, so an
unrelated bind on the same port and protocol but a different specific host
IP is no longer flagged, and the flag lands on the exact scoped port node.
- A running service's depends_on target is only considered satisfied when it
is actually running, so a crashed (exited) dependency is surfaced while a
  deliberately stopped stack stays quiet.
- Declared external networks and volumes are reported missing when they do
not exist on the host instead of being assumed present.
- The hub deep-validates each remote node-graph payload before merging, so a
reachable-but-malformed remote degrades to a single node error rather than
failing the whole fleet map, and the validation failure is logged.
- Searching or filtering on a network, volume, or port now also reveals the
services that claim it and their stacks.

Anso 28ea610e81 refactor(masthead): remove stat-tile hover tooltips (#1319)
Drop the cursor-following hover tooltips from the masthead stat tiles: the RUNNING
tile on the Home dashboard (the managed / external / exited breakdown) and the
CONTAINERS tile on the Fleet view (the running / total split). Both revert to plain
stat tiles, matching the CPU and MEM tiles beside them. The dashboard and fleet docs
are updated to match and the orphaned screenshot is removed.

Anso 37af4a2087 refactor(fleet): standardize empty-state and header layout across Fleet tabs (#1312)
Extract the Secrets tab's header and empty-card markup into shared
primitives (FleetTabHeading, FleetEmptyState, FleetEmptyCard) and adopt
them across Snapshots, Deployments, Routing, Federation, and Secrets so
the Fleet area presents one consistent layout. The empty card sits
vertically centered below a title/subtitle header. Deployments keeps its
onboarding steps inside the shared shell; Federation's sections are
unchanged.

Anso 81858a0bb0 feat(mesh): refine the Routing tab and add per-route removal (#1311)
* feat(mesh): refine the Routing tab and add per-route removal

Tighten the Fleet > Routing tab so its node cards and diagnostics read
honestly for proxy-connected fleets, and remove a couple of dead ends.

- Node cards drop the "pilot connected/offline" line, which was meaningless
for nodes that connect over the HTTP API proxy. The compact card drops the
matching agent cell and now reads stacks / aliases / bridge.
- Enabling mesh on a proxy node shows a transient "Connecting" state and
settles to meshed on its own, instead of flashing "Degraded" with a manual
refresh while the bridge finishes dialing.
- The alias detail sheet gains a "Remove from mesh" action that opts the
alias's owning stack out (the confirmation says how many aliases that
drops), and a "Topology" tab. The standalone topology sheet and its
opt-in-sheet shortcut are removed in favor of the tab.
- The "Add stack" affordance stays reachable on a meshed node, so a node
that already has aliases is no longer a dead end.
- Diagnostics and the alias detail sheet show a transport-aware line
("local", "API proxy bridge", or "Pilot tunnel" with its state) instead of
  a fixed "Pilot tunnel" label.

Adds unit coverage for the new state derivation, transport descriptor, the
enable auto-converge, and the admin-gated removal, and updates the mesh docs.

* fix(mesh): harden Routing tab toggle and alias sheet against async races

Independent review surfaced two narrow async races in the new code.

- RoutingNodeCard: cancel the converge re-poll batch at the start of any
toggle (so a slow disable can't let a prior enable's re-polls fire), and
guard the toast, refresh, timer scheduling, and setToggling behind a mounted
ref so nothing runs after the card unmounts while the enable POST is still
  in flight.
- MeshRouteDetailSheet: re-check the cancelled flag after reading the
diagnostic body, not just before it. Reading the body is itself async, so a
superseded alias's diagnostic could otherwise call setDiag and expose Remove
  for the wrong stack.

Adds tests for unmount-before-enable-resolves and the deferred-diagnostic
alias switch.

Anso 865d792874 feat(pricing): collapse to two tiers (#1309)
* feat(pricing): collapse to two tiers (Community + Admiral)

Collapse Sencho's pricing from three tiers (Community / Skipper / Admiral)
to two: a generous free Community tier and a single paid Admiral tier. The
Skipper tier is removed.

Now free in Community: auto-heal, auto-update, scheduled operations,
webhooks, notification routing, Fleet Actions and bulk operations, SSO
preset providers (Google / GitHub / Okta), unlimited users with admin and
viewer roles, and deploy safety (atomic deploys, auto-rollback, and
one-click rollback).

Admiral (paid) is focused on running and governing a fleet: blueprints,
Fleet Secrets, deploy enforcement, vulnerability report export, audit log,
host console, private registries, mesh networking, node cordon, managed
cloud backup, LDAP / Active Directory SSO, and the advanced RBAC roles
(deployer, node-admin, auditor) with per-resource scoped assignments.

Internally the license variant distinction is removed so tier is binary
(community / paid). License validation still verifies the Lemon Squeezy
store and product before granting paid status.

Docs and the contributor guide are updated to the two-tier model.

* docs(pricing): correct licensing page to two-tier pricing and tidy stale tier wording

The licensing docs page kept the old Admiral pricing plus a Founder
Lifetime column and an Enterprise paragraph after the two-tier collapse.
Update it to $12/month or $99/year, drop the lifetime and Enterprise
content, and link to the pricing page for current pricing.

Also fix stale "Skipper" wording in CLA.md, SUPPORT.md, one test title,
and three test comments. Historical CHANGELOG entries and the
retired-Skipper license-guard test are intentionally left as-is.

* docs: align licensing and SSO pages with the two-tier model

Correct the SSO overview so the Google, GitHub, and Okta presets read as
available on every tier, matching the provider table; only LDAP and Active
Directory require Sencho Admiral. Remove the lifetime-plan references from the
licensing, settings, and troubleshooting pages so they reflect subscription-only
Admiral pricing.

* fix(rbac): omit scoped permissions from /me on the Community tier

Scoped role assignments only take effect on the paid tier, but GET /api/permissions/me returned them unconditionally, so a downgraded instance with leftover assignments rendered per-resource affordances the API then rejected with 403. The endpoint now mirrors the permission middleware and includes scoped permissions only on the paid tier. Adds a regression test covering the downgrade case.

* docs: use custom-pricing wording on the contact page

The two-tier model has no Enterprise tier; reword the contact page's enterprise pricing/deals to custom pricing/deals so it does not imply a tier that no longer exists.

Anso c82a39c65a fix(mesh): hide node and stack management controls from non-admins (#1284)
* fix(mesh): hide node and stack management controls from non-admins

The Routing tab rendered the per-node mesh enable/disable toggle and the
stack opt-in/opt-out controls for any Admiral-tier user, but those backend
routes require the admin role. A non-admin viewer on an Admiral instance
saw controls that returned 403.

Thread a canManage flag (true only for admins) from the Fleet view into
the Routing tab, its node cards, and the opt-in sheet so non-admins get a
read-only Routing tab: the enable/disable toggle, add-stack, and
opt-in/opt-out controls are hidden, while status, aliases, topology,
activity, diagnostics, and the alias test probe stay available. This
mirrors the Federation tab's existing read-only treatment for non-admins.

Add backend route-gating tests covering the tier and admin-role guards on
every mesh route, and frontend render-gate tests for the node card and the
opt-in sheet in both density layouts.

* refactor(mesh): require canManage on the routing-node-card primitive

Remove the permissive `canManage = true` default on the shared
routing-node-card primitive so a new call site cannot render the
management controls without an explicit decision. Every current caller
already passes the flag; the type now enforces it. Drop the omitted-prop
test, which covered a state the compiler now prevents.

Anso 7e0cffa376 fix(fleet-actions): stop-by-label works on Community remote nodes (#1270)
* fix(fleet-actions): stop-by-label works on Community remote nodes

Fleet-stop's remote leg fanned out to POST /api/labels/:id/action, which
is gated to Skipper/Admiral, so on a Community fleet the control node
stopped its own stacks but every remote node returned 403. Fleet-stop
itself is admin-only and available on every license, so the remote leg
contradicted the feature's own gate.

Extract the label-match plus bulk-stop logic into a shared
runLocalLabelStop helper and add an admin-only, every-license
POST /api/fleet-actions/labels/local-stop receiver. The control now fans
out to that receiver, so remote stacks stop on every tier. Each node runs
under its own per-node bulk lock, so a fleet-stop and a per-label action
still serialize cleanly instead of double-stopping containers.

Also degrade the control's own leg per-node instead of failing the whole
fan-out when its filesystem read throws, and gate fleet-stop and
fleet-prune diagnostics behind developer_mode.

Tests: local-stop auth, tier, validation, and behavior; a remote-leg
routing guard that asserts the fan-out targets local-stop and never the
paid route; local-leg graceful degradation; and the three Fleet Action
card UIs.

* fix(fleet-actions): honor the remote stop receiver's matched flag

The control reached the remote leg only because its own mirror had the
label, then hardcoded matched:true and trusted results without guarding
its shape. A mirror-skewed control (mirror has the label, remote does
not) then showed a remote mismatch as "matched, 0 stacks" instead of
"no matching label", and a malformed 200 body could flow a non-array
into the per-stack renderers.

Honor the remote's own matched flag and coerce results to an array when
the body is malformed. Add regression tests for the matched:false skew
case and the non-array results case.

Anso d41282e352 fix(blueprints): gate Federation pin control on admin role (#1252)
* fix(blueprints): gate Federation pin control on admin role

The Federation tab rendered an editable pin control to any Admiral-tier user, but
PUT /api/blueprints/:id/pin requires admin role, so a non-admin Admiral user saw a
dropdown that returned 403 on use. Thread the admin flag into FederationTab and render
the pin placement read-only (with an administrator-required hint) for non-admins,
matching the existing canEdit pattern in the Deployments tab. The backend guard already
enforced admin; this aligns the UI affordance with it.

Add backend coverage for the tier/role authorization matrix across the blueprint routes,
remote-node deploy/withdraw ordering and failure mapping, edge cases (disable-with-active
409, selector cap, marker drift, cross-blueprint withdraw refusal), service developer-mode
diagnostics, and a frontend render-gate test for both admin and non-admin states.

* fix(blueprints): gate Apply action on admin role in blueprint detail

The blueprint detail sheet rendered an enabled "Apply now" control to any paid user,
but POST /api/blueprints/:id/apply requires admin. Gate the primary action on canEdit
so it matches the already-gated Edit / Disable / Delete actions and the backend guard;
non-admins keep a read-only detail view. Add a render test covering both the admin and
non-admin action bars.

Also strengthen the remote-deploy ordering test to assert global call order across spies
(create < compose < marker < deploy) via invocationCallOrder, not just per-method indices.

Anso aa3d99a594 fix(mesh): re-evaluate data plane every 10s and add opt-in auto-recreate (#1184)
* fix(mesh): re-evaluate data plane every 10s and add opt-in auto-recreate

MeshService.dataPlaneStatus was written exactly once at boot in
setupMeshNetwork() and never re-evaluated. After the operator removed
sencho_mesh at runtime (or it was recreated externally, or Sencho was
disconnected from it), /api/health and the dashboard banner kept
returning the stale boot-time discriminator until the next process
restart.

Adds a 10s revalidator that inspects the current Docker truth in one
network-inspect call and transitions dataPlaneStatus to reflect it.
Short-circuits in not_started / not_in_docker / subnet_invalid
(states that cannot change within this process) and in concurrent
ticks. Transitions are idempotent on stable state, so the timer can
tick indefinitely on a healthy mesh without log noise.

New 'not_found' reason value for the network-was-removed-at-runtime
case. Existing reasons (subnet_mismatch, subnet_overlap, attach_failed)
also surface from the revalidator when their underlying conditions
arise post-boot. transitionDataPlane keeps message and subnet fields
fresh across consecutive observations even when reason is unchanged,
so /api/health never reports stale numbers (e.g. two consecutive
subnet_mismatch observations against different external subnets).

Adds an opt-in mesh_auto_recreate global setting (default off). When
on, the revalidator additionally calls attemptInPlaceRecreate() after
surfacing not_found. The helper hard-prefers the boot-chosen subnet
(this.meshSubnet) and never iterates candidates, because changing the
subnet here would invalidate every existing extra_hosts override on
disk. A real conflict on the original subnet is reported as
subnet_overlap and preserved during the 60s recreate throttle window
so the operator-actionable reason is not flapped back to not_found
between attempts.

Self-attachment is checked via Name match (operator --hostname X
matches container Name /X) or full container-ID prefix for hex
HOSTNAMEs >= 12 chars (Docker default short ID). Non-hex HOSTNAMEs
cannot collide with container IDs at all so a Name miss is conclusive;
short hex HOSTNAMEs preserve the prior status as 'unknown' rather than
risking a false-positive prefix match.

Frontend surfaces:
- types/mesh.ts: 'not_found' added to MeshDataPlaneReason.
- MeshDataPlaneBanner: 'not_found' headline copy.
- Settings > System > Mesh data plane: TogglePill bound to
mesh_auto_recreate, default off, helper text explains the tradeoff.

Backend coverage in backend/src/__tests__/mesh-data-plane-revalidate.test.ts
(25 cases): short-circuits, idempotent stable-state, recovery from
subnet_mismatch / subnet_overlap, transition to not_found / subnet_mismatch
/ attach_failed, transient-Docker anti-flap, re-entrancy guard, name
match path, ID-prefix path, short hex hostname ambiguity, non-hex
hostname certainty, transition message refresh on observation drift,
auto-recreate off (default), auto-recreate success with senchoIp
preservation, auto-recreate overlap classification with no subnet
drift, throttle window preserves classified reason, throttle release.
Lifecycle test covers timer wiring in start()/stop().

Existing mesh-setup-error-classification suite (27 cases) still green.

Resolves: F-4 in the v1.0 audit tracker.

* fix(mesh): address Codex review of PR #1184

Three findings from the independent review:

BLOCKER: attemptInPlaceRecreate() called recordSetupFailure() on
create / attach failures, which clears this.senchoIp. The next
revalidator tick's attachment check is guarded on senchoIp, so with
it null the check is skipped and the snapshot path can silently flip
the status back to ok against a network where Sencho is in fact not
attached. Also: a later successful recreate would call
ensureSelfAttached() with senchoIp null, which short-circuits, so
the network gets recreated without binding Sencho.

Replaced the recordSetupFailure() calls in attemptInPlaceRecreate
with a new recordRecreateFailure() that uses transitionDataPlane and
preserves senchoIp. Added two tests: create-fails-then-succeeds
(verifies senchoIp survives the failure and the later retry binds
Sencho correctly) and create-succeeds-attach-fails-then-next-tick
(verifies the snapshot path surfaces attach_failed on the next tick
instead of falsely reporting ok).

SHOULD-FIX 1: single-key POST /api/settings wrote String(value)
without re-validating against the per-key schema, so an allowlisted
enum-shaped key like mesh_auto_recreate could persist arbitrary
strings ('banana', 'true') that the bulk PATCH would later refuse.
Routed the single-key path through SettingsPatchSchema.safeParse so
both write paths validate identically. Added regression tests for
an invalid mesh_auto_recreate value, a valid mesh_auto_recreate
write, and an out-of-range numeric value.

SHOULD-FIX 2: the new Mesh data plane subsection lived inside a
section the registry exposes to non-admins, who would see the toggle
and only learn it was admin-only after the save 403'd. Gated the
subsection on `isAdmin` from useAuth so non-admins do not see the
control. The other system controls keep their existing visibility
pattern (read-only for non-admins).

71/71 backend tests green (revalidate + mesh-setup + settings-routes).
276/276 frontend tests green. tsc clean on backend + frontend.

Anso e4fe4cfced fix(mesh): address Codex audit findings on F-1 PR (#1158)
- docs(sencho-mesh): split subnet_overlap troubleshooting into env-set
vs env-unset paths; rewrite the "Customising the mesh subnet" intro
to describe the candidate list and the adopt-existing behavior.
- backend(MeshService): preserve idempotent 409 handling in the
explicit-env path. On createNetwork 409 (TOCTOU race against another
process), re-inspect and treat the race-winner as success when its
subnet matches the operator's request; subnet_mismatch otherwise.
- frontend(MeshDataPlaneBanner): trim the card variant to a true
one-line strip (headline only, truncate min-w-0). Full recovery
hint stays on the Routing tab variant and in docs.
- tests(mesh): add five cases covering the previously untested
  branches — candidate-loop non-overlap bail, adopt-existing with
unparseable subnet, explicit-env generic createNetwork failure,
  TOCTOU 409 race-winner match, TOCTOU 409 race-winner mismatch.

Architecture map (gitignored per Directive 11) updated locally with
the new useMeshDataPlane hook node and the mesh.dashboardBanner flow
so the local interactive viewer stays accurate.

Anso 1a03cf82af fix(mesh): auto-fallback through candidate subnets when default overlaps (#1156)
The default mesh subnet 172.30.0.0/24 is fully contained in linuxserver/*
default networks (sonarr_default 172.30.0.0/16, etc.), so libnetwork
rejects the IPAM allocation with "Pool overlaps with other one on this
address space" on a typical homelab Docker host. The single hard-coded
default left first-run operators with a silently broken mesh.

MeshService.setupMeshNetwork now resolves the subnet via three paths:

1. Operator-explicit (SENCHO_MESH_SUBNET set): use that subnet, strict.
Pre-existing sencho_mesh with a different subnet still raises
   subnet_mismatch.
2. Adopt-existing (env unset, sencho_mesh already on the daemon): adopt
the existing subnet. Docker is the source of truth across restarts.
3. Candidate iteration (env unset, no existing network): walk
   172.30.0.0/24, 172.31.0.0/24, 10.42.0.0/24, 10.43.0.0/24 in order.
First subnet Docker accepts wins. If every candidate overlaps,
record subnet_overlap with a message naming every attempt.

The dashboard's Fleet Heartbeat card now surfaces the down state via a
compact banner above the per-node rows, plus a "mesh down" counter
suffix on the right of the title. The existing Routing-tab banner is
extracted into a shared MeshDataPlaneBanner component with tab and
card variants. Dashboard polling is gated on Admiral tier so non-paid
users do not fire the Admiral-only /mesh/status endpoint.

Six new tests in mesh-setup-error-classification cover: iterates past
first overlap, all candidates overlap, adopts existing network,
inspectNetwork non-404 failure classified as attach_failed, env-matches-
existing skip-create, and operator-explicit strict (no fallback).

Fixes F-1 in the pre-1.0 audit. Closes the silent-failure mode that
left the mesh down on the most common homelab Docker layout.

Anso 519a59ed2e feat(fleet): open Fleet Actions tab to Community (admin-only) (#1153)
* feat(fleet): open Fleet Actions tab to Community (admin-only)

Removes the requirePaid guard from the five Fleet Actions endpoints
(fleet-stop, fleet-prune, match-preview, prune/estimate, bulk-assign)
and drops the matching isPaid parent gate on FleetActionsTab so Community
admins can run fleet-wide bulk operations. requireAdmin stays on every
endpoint; operator and viewer roles still 403 on apply.

Tests flipped from "403 PAID_REQUIRED on community" to positive
"reachable on community + admin" assertions. Docs (fleet-actions,
fleet-view, licensing, overview, stack-labels) rewritten to state the
admin-role requirement once and drop the prior Skipper framing.

* fix(fleet): apply audit findings from PR #1153 review

- stack-labels.mdx: fix the page intro that still framed fleet label
actions as "Operators on a Skipper or Admiral license". The cards are
now Community + admin, so the intro reads "Admins also get a pair of
  fleet-wide actions".
- Collapse redundant role-rule statements on the two affected pages.
fleet-actions.mdx now states the admin gate once in the lead-in Note
and again only in the troubleshooting accordion (the Prerequisites
row was duplicative). stack-labels.mdx trims the "Limits and rules"
bullet to the value-add half (label authoring is open to every role)
and drops the Fleet Actions repetition.
- Strip now-no-op mockTier('paid') calls from non-tier tests across the
three fleet test files, plus the test-wide default in the
fleet-action-card-endpoints beforeEach. Those mocks were misleading
after the routes stopped consulting tier; if a future change re-adds
requirePaid the tests will fail loudly instead of silently passing.

Anso 2563e30424 fix(fleet): equalize action card heights, swap order, replace native autocomplete (#1138)
Three visual adjustments to the Fleet Actions tab:

1. Drop the xl:grid-cols-3 breakpoint. The cards carry live previews and
per-node estimate wells that compress badly at 3-up on a 1440 monitor.
2-up is the new max. Pair with auto-rows-fr so every row equalizes to
the tallest content height, and let <FleetActionCard> stretch into the
cell via flex flex-col h-full plus a flex-1 body. Footer pins to the
bottom; the shorter card's body grows whitespace below its content.

2. Reorder the JSX to Prune, Bulk, Stop. Prune sits top-left with its
live "~ N GB reclaimable" estimate populated on first render. Stop,
which reads "awaiting target" until the operator types, drops to
   row 2 below the fold.

3. Replace the native <datalist> on the Stop card with a custom
   LabelAutocomplete: free-form text input + a Sencho-styled popover
   (border-glass-border, bg-popover, backdrop-blur) that filters the
known-label set as the operator types. Click a suggestion via
mousedown + preventDefault so the input stays focused and the
selection registers before any blur-driven close. Outside-click and
Escape close the popover. Operator can still run against a label
that was not in the autocomplete set; the server-side match-preview
   resolves it.

Also: whitespace-nowrap on the primary button so "Stop fleet" /
"Prune fleet" do not wrap in tight viewports.

Anso 6f301e005a feat(fleet): redesign Fleet Action cards to the System Sheet recipe (#1137)
Lift <FleetActionCard> primitive from audit §20 / DESIGN §9.12. Migrate
the three v1 cards (stop-by-label, bulk-label-assign, prune-fleet-wide)
to consume it: cyan rail on every card, action class as a chip, blast
radius as a live readout in the toolbar, preview section replaces the
warning banner, footer carries reversibility plus freshness. Drop the
per-card tone rail, the icon prop, and cards/tone.ts.

Add /fleet/labels/match-preview and /fleet/prune/estimate for the live
blast readouts (chrome falls back to "preview unavailable" if either
404s). Add dryRun: true to the existing fleet-stop and fleet-prune
endpoints so the Dry run button rehearses the full code path (locks,
per-node fan-out, remote propagation) without firing the destructive
leaf call. Result flows into the existing ResultsList.

Extend <SheetSection> with optional meta. Add --action-transformative
semantic token.

Anso cdb9cd414e feat(routing): redesign node cards to the System Sheet recipe (#1133)
Lift <RoutingNodeCard> primitive from audit §21 / DESIGN §9.13. Migrate
the fleet adapter to consume it: collapse five inline state pills into
a single nodeState prop, replace the k/v stat list with a mono meta
line, drop the per-row HEALTHY chip in favor of a state dot, and add a
real empty-state block with a primary CTA for every state. Compact
density body swap stays inside the component, no -compact fork.

Anso e05099f2a1 fix(fleet-sync): make control-identity-mismatch sticky and surface in UI (#1117)
Treat 409 CONTROL_IDENTITY_MISMATCH from a replica as a non-retriable
failure instead of looping the same 409 through the 5-minute retry
service forever and silently writing identical failure rows.

Backend
- DatabaseService: add `sticky_error_code`, `sticky_error_expected`,
`sticky_error_got` columns to `fleet_sync_status` via an idempotent
  migration. New methods setFleetSyncSticky, getFleetSyncStickyCode,
  clearFleetSyncStickyForNode. recordFleetSyncSuccess clears the sticky
flag on a clean push. getFailedSyncTargets SQL adds
`AND sticky_error_code IS NULL` so the retry loop skips sticky rows.
- FleetSyncService.executePushToNode: short-circuits at the top when
sticky is set (covers event-driven pushResourceAsync calls). On a 409
with code CONTROL_IDENTITY_MISMATCH, records the failure once and
pins sticky with the expected/got fingerprints carried in the 409 body.
- routes/nodes.ts: new POST /api/nodes/:id/fleet-sync/reset-anchor.
  Admin + paid + node:manage. Proxies POST /api/fleet/role/reanchor to
the peer with `{override:true}` using the stored Bearer node_proxy
token. On peer 200, clears every sticky row for the node so the next
push re-anchors and resumes replication. Distinct 502 / 504 responses
for peer-rejected / peer-unreachable so the UI can show a useful toast.

Frontend
- New lib/fleetSyncApi.ts + hooks/useFleetSyncStatus.ts. Polling hook
(30s visibilityInterval) skips fetch when !isPaid.
- NodeManager.tsx: destructive banner per affected node listing both
fingerprints, with `Reset anchor on peer` and `Remove node` buttons.
Hidden for community-tier users via empty hook data.
- FleetConfiguration.tsx (Fleet -> Status): read-only `Policy sync`
SummaryRow per remote node card. In sync / degraded / paused with
a tooltip; no action buttons (the action lives in NodeManager).

Tests
- fleet-sync-service.test.ts: 4 new cases for sticky-set on first
mismatch, short-circuit on subsequent pushes, null fingerprints,
and non-mismatch failures not setting sticky.
- database-fleet-sync-sticky.test.ts (new): 6 cases pinning the DB
contract incl. retry-loop SQL filter and migration idempotency.
- nodes-fleet-sync-reset-anchor.test.ts (new): 6 cases covering
  happy path, peer 401 -> 502, peer unreachable -> 504, local-node
rejection, unknown node id, and community-tier 403.

Gate parity (Directive 30): the new POST .../reset-anchor enforces
requireAdmin + requirePaid + node:manage (matches the existing read at
GET /api/fleet/sync-status). UI banner + SummaryRow only render when the
hook returns data, which it only does for paid-tier authed users. No
existing tier-gate file moved; this is greenfield parity.

Auth audit: the peer's POST /api/fleet/role/reanchor route already uses
requireAdmin, which accepts the central's stored node_proxy Bearer
token because authMiddleware maps `scope === 'node_proxy'` to
`req.user = { username: 'node-proxy', role: 'admin', userId: 0 }`.
No widening required.

Backend tsc clean. Frontend tsc -b clean. 59 fleet-sync tests pass; full
backend suite green minus the pre-existing Windows-only file-lock flake
on filesystem-backup.test.ts that reproduces unchanged on main.

Anso 96d9bb9f76 fix(fleet-secrets): align bundle-row action aria-label with icon ("Send") (#1116)
The bundle-row action uses the lucide Send icon but the button's
aria-label was "Push", which surfaced inconsistently to screen-reader
users vs the visible/iconic intent. The same action is referred to
as "Send" in the feature docs, so standardise on Send everywhere.

Anso e3e5943b57 feat(fleet-secrets): add Import from stack action to bundle editor (#1115)
Adds an in-sheet "Import from stack" affordance to the Secret bundle
editor (edit mode only). Picks a node + stack + env file basename,
calls the existing /secrets/:id/import-from-stack endpoint, and
overlays the returned key/value pairs onto the editor: existing keys
have their values updated in place (preserving row order and any
duplicate-keyed rows for save-time validation), new keys append at
the bottom, empty placeholder rows are kept.

The endpoint and audit log row already shipped; only the UI trigger
was missing.

Anso 1f673073ca feat(fleet): add fleet-wide Docker prune to Fleet Actions (#1104)
Adds a third card to the Fleet Actions tab that fans out Docker prune
(images, volumes, networks) across every node in one submit. Local nodes
call DockerController under a bulk-prune lock; remote nodes receive one
POST /api/system/prune/system per target. Per-node + per-target results
with reclaimed bytes are surfaced inline via ResultsList.

Tier: Skipper / Admiral (requirePaid + requireAdmin), matching the rest
of Fleet Actions. The frontend card is mounted inside the existing
isPaid branch at FleetActionsTab; no new frontend gate is required.

The card uses an amber accent rail and the Eraser icon so it reads as
'cleanup' rather than 'destructive stop'. Scope toggle defaults to
Managed only (Sencho-tagged resources) with an All unused option that
escalates the destructive-confirm copy.

Anso c460bb87a8 fix(mesh): probe upstream synchronously in route diagnostic (F-11) (#1100)
GET /api/mesh/aliases/:alias/diagnostic returned a cached state derived
from the last latency/error maps. Those maps only mutated when someone
called POST .../test or when a cross-node connect logged an event, so
once an upstream stopped the diagnostic kept reporting "healthy" until
the 60 s alias-cache refresh pruned the alias entirely.

The GET now calls testUpstream synchronously after the alias-resolved,
opted-in, tunnel-up short-circuits. Probe failures land in routeErrorMap
via logActivity (cross-node already did this; same-node timeout/error
paths now log probe.fail in the same shape), so the state computation
flips to "unreachable" on the same request that exposed the stopped
upstream. A new routeProbeAtMap stamps freshness and surfaces in the
response as lastProbeAt; the route detail sheet renders "Last probe
<age> · <ms>" using the existing formatTimeAgo helper.

Anso 554f662563 fix(mesh): surface stopped-stack opt-ins on routing node cards (#1098)
Add `currentlyResolvable: boolean` per entry in `MeshNodeStatus.optedInStacks`,
derived from the existing alias cache so the new field stays consistent with
`/api/mesh/aliases` without any extra Dockerode or cross-node inspect on the
status path. The Routing tab renders an amber `suspended` pill for entries
whose stack is opted in but currently has no running services, plus a single
explanatory caption below the suspended list.

Resolves the contradictory `Mesh stacks: 1 / Aliases: 0 / No mesh services
on this node yet` copy on the node card when a meshed stack's container has
been stopped; the misleading line is now only shown when the node truly has
no opt-ins. The opt-in itself remains sticky: when the stack starts again,
its aliases reappear automatically on the next refresh.

Defensive de-dup in the UI filters suspended entries against the live alias
snapshot to handle the transient gap where `/mesh/status` and `/mesh/aliases`
return slightly inconsistent views from their separate fetches.

Tests:
- new `mesh-status-resolvability.test.ts` (6 cases) locks the resolvable /
  suspended / mixed / empty / per-node-scoping / stale-alias-no-phantom
  invariants for `getStatus`.
- `mesh-topology-layout.test.ts` gains a `stacksKey` resolvability-flip case
and a `meshNodeStateEqual` case asserting a resolvability flip on an
otherwise identical stack registers as a state change so the topology
  layout re-runs.

Operator docs gain one new troubleshooting accordion in
`/docs/features/sencho-mesh.mdx` explaining the suspended state.

Anso f6e42535c8 fix(mesh): route peer→central traffic over the existing forward WS (#1094)
* fix(mesh): route peer→central traffic over the existing forward WS

The reverse mesh callback path (`/api/mesh/proxy-tunnel-from-peer`) needed
SENCHO_PRIMARY_URL on central plus a publicly reachable origin from the
peer's perspective. In a typical homelab where central sits behind NAT,
peer→central dispatch silently failed at the dialer's short-circuit and
the headline "call any service on any node by hostname" worked one way
only.

The forward WS at `/api/mesh/proxy-tunnel` is already bidirectional end
to end. Make the bridge a persistent control-plane primitive: dial every
mesh-enabled proxy peer at startup, reconcile every 60 s, never idle-close.
Peer→central traffic multiplexes over the same WS via `tcp_open_reverse`.

Removed:
- `meshProxyTunnelFromPeer.ts` WS handler and dispatch
- `MeshCentralRegistry`, `PeerToCentralMeshSessionDialer`
- `mesh_handshake` first-frame state machine in `meshProxyTunnel.ts`
- `maybeSendBootstrap`, `buildHandshakeFrame` in the dialer
- `mesh_proxy_callback_bootstrap` capability and `maybeWarnUnsetPrimaryUrl`
- `mesh_centrals` table (drop migration; greenfield, no users)
- `PilotTunnelManager.replaceOrRegisterProxyBridge` (dead after handler removal)
- twelve associated unit/integration tests plus the peer-recovery branch
  in `MeshService.openCrossNode`

Added:
- `MeshService.proactiveBridgeFanout` selects every mesh-enabled proxy
peer (no longer gated on `mesh_stacks` rows)
- `startBridgeReconcileLoop` runs the fanout every 60 s (override via
  `SENCHO_MESH_RECONCILE_INTERVAL_MS`)
- `MeshProxyTunnelDialer` default idle TTL is now `0` and exposes
  `isDialing(nodeId)` for the status surface
- `MeshNodeStatus.reverseCallbackStatus` discriminator
  (`connected | connecting | unavailable | not_applicable`) surfaced via
`/api/mesh/status` and rendered as a pill in the Routing tab
- `openCrossNode` error message distinguishes "no proxy target" from
"waiting for central to dial the reverse bridge"
- New tests: `mesh-service-proxy-tunnel-reconcile`,
  `mesh-status-reverse-callback`, `mesh-proxy-tunnel-dialer-no-idle-close`

SENCHO_PRIMARY_URL is no longer required for any mesh function.

* fix(mesh): rewrite proxy-tunnel reconcile test contents

The previous commit renamed the file but the rewritten test bodies stayed
unstaged on top of the rename. This commit lands the actual rewrite: the
fanout assertion now requires every mesh-enabled proxy peer to be dialed,
not just those with `mesh_stacks` rows, and adds a reconcile-tick
repeated-call test.

Anso 578cac89da fix(mesh): surface data-plane failures in health, meta, and Routing tab (#1088)
The three previously-silent console.warn paths in MeshService.setupMeshNetwork
now route through a typed recordSetupFailure helper that classifies the
failure (subnet_invalid, subnet_overlap, subnet_mismatch, ip_in_use,
attach_failed, not_in_docker), emits a mesh.disable activity entry at the
matching level (error for real failures, warn for the expected dev-mode
not_in_docker case), and strips mesh_proxy_callback_bootstrap from
advertised capabilities via CapabilityRegistry.

/api/health gains a mesh.dataPlane block carrying the typed status.
/api/mesh/status carries localDataPlane at the top level so the Routing tab
renders a red banner with an operator-actionable recovery hint (set
SENCHO_MESH_SUBNET to a free /24 and recreate the container) when the data
plane is down. The success path re-enables the capability and flips the
status to ok.

Generalizes the previously-documented F-0 failure mode (IP-in-subnet
collision) to also cover the subnet-pool-overlap case where another Docker
bridge on the host already owns the requested CIDR.

Anso 3323a59003 fix(mesh): poll topology data and tighten stack-membership equality (#1059)
Adds a visibility-aware 30s poll on the Routing tab so the graph reflects
tunnel state, alias publishes, and remote-node disconnects without a
manual reload. Polling pauses while the tab is hidden and wakes
immediately on focus via the shared visibilityInterval helper.

Tightens nodeStateEqual so a stack swap on the same node (opt out A, opt
in B) is detected even when the count is unchanged. Extracts the helper,
the minimap colour mapping, and the minimap colour literals to
mesh-topology-layout so they can be unit-tested and to drop a now-unused
isOwnerView field from MeshNodeData.

Persists the Table/Graph and Tunnels/Aliases toggles to localStorage so a
Routing tab session keeps the operator's last-used view.

Adds a legend line to the per-stack topology sheet clarifying that
consumer edges mean meshed peers that could reach the aliases via DNS;
whether containers dial them depends on each consumer's own opt-in
stacks.

Adds unit tests for stacksKey, meshNodeStateEqual, and miniMapColorFor,
plus troubleshooting entries and a refresh-cadence note to the mesh docs.

Anso 2e82eb44fe feat(fleet): multi-mode topology with label grouping and persisted positions (#1054)
The Topology view now offers three layouts so the canvas adapts to how the
fleet is organised, not the other way around:

- Hub: the gateway anchored on the left with remotes radiating right
- Grouped (Skipper+): remotes cluster by their primary node label, with the
local node in its own cluster and unlabeled remotes in an Unlabeled cluster
- Free (Skipper+): drag any node; positions persist per browser via local
  storage

Node cards gain label pills (Skipper+), a cordon banner with reason tooltip,
a latency chip for online remotes, and a stale pilot-heartbeat glyph. All
fields are sourced from /api/fleet/overview, which already returns cordon,
latency, and pilot timestamps; no backend changes required.

Community continues to see the single Hub layout (without the toolbar, no
gating cues), matching the visibility principle that paid affordances are
hidden from lower tiers rather than displayed as locked teasers. The
backend /api/node-labels route is already requirePaid, so the data gate is
honoured end to end.

Includes unit tests for the layout module (hub/grouped/free coverage) and
the preferences hook (round-trip plus corrupt-JSON fallback).

Anso 9e4b969dfb feat(mesh): add topology graph view and per-stack drill sheet (#1052)
Adds a Table/Graph toggle to Fleet → Traffic. Graph mode draws the fleet
as a ReactFlow diagram with a second toggle that switches edge encoding
between Tunnels (one edge per node pair, coloured by tunnel state) and
Aliases (same edges labelled with alias counts). Clicking a node card
opens the existing opt-in sheet, where each opted-in stack now has a
Topology button that opens a focused side sheet showing the stack at
the centre, the aliases it publishes, and the meshed consumer nodes
with per-tunnel state.

Reuses the existing /mesh/status and /mesh/aliases endpoints; no
backend changes. Inherits the Admiral gate from the parent Routing
tab. Layout helpers and the per-stack sheet are unit-tested.

Anso a38a3e0226 feat(mesh): route mesh traffic over Distributed API remotes (#1048)
* refactor(mesh): extract shared TCP stream switchboard

Pull the `tcp_open` / `tcp_open_ack` / `tcp_open_reverse` / `tcp_close`
+ `TcpData` handling out of the pilot agent into a reusable module so a
second caller (the upcoming proxy-mode WS handler) can run the same
frame parser, stream allocator, idle timers, and Compose-label
resolver. One parser, two callers, zero drift on a
security-sensitive protocol surface.

The pilot agent keeps its public `openMeshTcpStream` API and delegates
to a per-connection switchboard constructed in `connect()` and torn
down in `cleanupAfterDisconnect`. Existing reverse-stream and resolver
tests are rewritten to exercise the shared module directly.

* feat(mesh): route mesh traffic over Distributed API remotes

Sencho Mesh now works against remotes in Distributed API mode in
addition to Pilot Agent mode. Central opens a short-lived WebSocket
tunnel to the remote's new `/api/mesh/proxy-tunnel` endpoint on demand
and tears it down after 5 minutes of idle (configurable via
`SENCHO_MESH_PROXY_TUNNEL_IDLE_MS`). Mesh dispatch is mode-agnostic at
the routing layer; `PilotTunnelManager.ensureBridge` resolves an
existing tunnel or asks the new `MeshProxyTunnelDialer` to dial.

The Routing tab badges now use a `reachableMode` classifier: `★ Local`
for local, `pilot offline` red badge for a pilot with a down tunnel,
and a new `unreachable` red badge surfacing the specific reason
(missing token, scope not full-admin, TLS failure, remote does not
support proxy mesh). Distributed API remotes with valid credentials
show no negative badge; the tunnel opens on first dial.

Auth: the proxy-tunnel WS upgrade requires an `Authorization: Bearer`
API token with the `full-admin` scope. Lower-scoped tokens are
rejected at upgrade time so a leaked read-only token cannot reach the
mesh data plane.

Bidirectional: the proxy-mode WS handler registers itself as the
local `MeshService` reverse dialer (compare-and-swap), so meshed
containers on a Distributed API remote can dial cross-node aliases
via `tcp_open_reverse` over the same tunnel. Cross-node relays
(`PilotTunnelBridge.acceptReverseRelay`) await `ensureBridge` so
proxy-to-proxy mesh works without standing tunnels.

* docs(mesh): describe Distributed API mesh and unreachable troubleshooting

Refresh the user-facing mesh documentation to reflect that mesh works
over both Pilot Agent and Distributed API remotes. Adds a
Troubleshooting accordion entry for the new `unreachable` Routing tab
badge so operators can match a tooltip reason ("api token rejected
(scope must be full-admin)", "remote does not support proxy mesh",
"TLS handshake failed", "api_url not set", "api token missing") to a
concrete fix.

* refactor(mesh): apply /simplify review findings

Five cleanups surfaced by the post-implementation code review pass.
No behaviour change for fleets running on `main`; only internal
structure improves.

- **Deterministic container IP shared.** Extract the compose-default
network preference (`pickContainerIp`) and the conventional-name
  fast path (`lookupContainerIp`) into `backend/src/mesh/containerLookup.ts`.
  Both `MeshService.resolveContainerIp` (existing same-node fast
  path) and the switchboard's `resolveByComposeLabels` (proxy/pilot
inbound dial) now use the same logic. Earlier the switchboard
helper grabbed the first `Object.values(Networks)` IP, which
  could flip across daemon versions on multi-network containers;
  fixed.
- **WS URL upgrade extracted.** New `backend/src/utils/wsUrl.ts`
exposes `httpUrlToWs(baseUrl)` that maps `http://` to `ws://` and
`https://` to `wss://`. Used in both `pilot/agent.ts` and the
  proxy-tunnel dialer. The previous inline `replace(/^http/, 'ws')`
silently downgraded `https://` to `ws://` (cleartext).
- **`computeReachable` takes the pre-fetched node.** `getStatus`
already iterated `db.getNodes()`; the helper previously re-queried
by id per node (N+1 reads). Pass the row in.
- **Reachable-reason ternary -> const map.** Replace the nested
  ternary in `MeshService.computeReachable` with a
  `Record<DialFailureCode, string>` lookup keyed on the dialer's
  failure code.
- **Activity-type ternary -> const map.** Same flattening inside
  `MeshProxyTunnelDialer.logActivity`.

All mesh tests pass (85/85). Full backend suite green (2126/2126).

* fix(mesh): cache proxy dial failures and contain WS handshake errors

`ensureBridge` now consults the recent-failure cache before dialing so a
continuous mesh workload against a misconfigured proxy-mode remote does
not produce one upgrade attempt per cross-node TCP open. `recordFailure`
emits at most one activity-log entry per cache window per (nodeId, code)
so a connect-loop on a single bad remote cannot flush the ring buffer.
Failure messages run through `redactSensitiveText` before reaching the
log so any embedded Bearer / JWT / inline-URL credentials are scrubbed.

`stop()` clears the inflight map and `dial()` checks `this.stopped`
between awaits so a shutdown does not leak a half-opened bridge.

When `awaitOpen` rejects (401, 4403, TLS), the dialer attaches a noop
'error' listener before calling `ws.close()`. Without it the ws library
emits a tail 'error' on a still-CONNECTING socket that propagates as an
unhandled exception. Surfaced by a live-network test against a real
proxy-mode peer.

Adds `mesh-proxy-tunnel-live.test.ts` (skipped unless MESH_AUDIT_URL
and MESH_AUDIT_TOKEN_FILE env vars are set) covering both the happy
path and the auth-rejected path against an actual remote Sencho.

* feat(mesh): instrument proxy tunnel observability

Adds three counters to `PilotMetrics`:
- `proxy_bridges_total` (incremented on `registerProxyBridge` success)
- `proxy_dials_failed` (every failed dial attempt, not deduped)
- `proxy_idle_closes` (idle-sweep teardowns)

All three surface automatically via `GET /api/system/pilot-tunnels`
since the route returns the full `Counters` snapshot.

Gates two pre-existing always-on `console.warn` calls in
`tcpStreamSwitchboard.ts` (mid-stream socket errors and Docker resolve
failures) behind `isDebugEnabled()`. Both fire on per-stream events and
would otherwise violate the diagnostic-log safety rule under load.

Adds `mesh-tcp-stream-switchboard.test.ts` covering the forward
`tcp_open` path: real localhost dial, resolver errors (no_target,
denied), per-tunnel cap saturation, frame-routing fall-through
invariants, `tcp_close` socket teardown.

Drops `MESH_CONNECT_TIMEOUT_MS` from the public surface; only the
switchboard itself uses it.

* fix(mesh): tighten Routing tab unreachable handling

`RoutingNodeCard.tsx`: the **Add stack to mesh** button now disables
when `reachableMode === 'unreachable'`, matching the existing
TogglePill behavior. Without this, an operator on an unreachable node
could open the opt-in sheet, confirm, and watch the redeploy proceed
against a target whose mesh data plane will silently fail to route.
Also drops the leftover `status.nodeId !== -1` guard on the pilot-
offline badge.

`MeshService.ts`: renames `isMeshReachable` to `isMeshConfigured` with
the new predicate that returns true for proxy-mode remotes whose creds
are valid (the tunnel is opened on demand). `getRouteDiagnostic` now
distinguishes "routable" (configured) from "pilotLive" (live tunnel
state, only meaningful for pilot mode); without the split, every idle
proxy-mode route would report `tunnel down`.

`MeshService.setReverseDialer` warns when the unconditional install
path silently overwrites a non-null current dialer. By topology a
Sencho is either pilot or central, so the branch flags a misconfigured
deployment rather than an expected race.

Drops the dead `export { ReverseTcpStreamHandle }` re-export from
`pilot/agent.ts`; its only consumer imports straight from
`mesh/tcpStreamSwitchboard.ts`. Fixes a stale doc comment in
`MeshService.ts` that referenced the wrong source file.

Adds `mesh-proxy-tunnel-handler.test.ts` covering the WS handler
lifecycle: pilot-mode 404 rejection, post-upgrade reverse-dialer
install, concurrent-upgrade 1013 rejection (single-tenant slot), and
error-path teardown.

Updates the troubleshooting accordion in the user docs to mention the
disabled-state behavior.

* fix(mesh): close ESLint and CodeQL findings on the proxy-tunnel diag logs

Remove the unused `reverseDialer` local in `meshProxyTunnel.ts`; the
closure target is `localDialer` above and this assignment was always
dead. Strip line breaks inline on the three `MeshProxyTunnelDialer`
diag log lines so CodeQL `js/log-injection` data flow recognises the
sanitisation that `sanitizeForLog` already performs.

No behaviour change; the diag logs render the same characters they
do today.

Anso 23bbee4f45 feat(mesh): replace host-mode with shared sencho_mesh Docker network (#1009)
* feat(mesh): replace host-mode with shared sencho_mesh Docker network

Phase D of the mesh redesign: drop the operator's `network_mode: host`
requirement and the `host-gateway` extra_hosts pattern that did not work
on cloud iptables-restrictive distros (OCI, etc.) or Docker Desktop.

Each Sencho creates a shared `sencho_mesh` Docker bridge network on
boot (default subnet 172.30.0.0/24, override via SENCHO_MESH_SUBNET),
pins itself at `<network>+2`, and attaches every meshed user service to
the same bridge. Compose overrides now emit IP-based `extra_hosts` plus
a top-level `networks` block declaring `sencho_mesh` external.

Override delivery: central renders for local stacks; for remote stacks
it sends the fleet alias list to the remote's new `PUT /api/mesh/local-
override/:stackName` endpoint, which renders against the remote's OWN
local senchoIp and writes under its OWN DATA_DIR. Each node may use a
different subnet without coordination beyond the env var.

Opt-in / opt-out now trigger an automatic redeploy of the affected
stack via the existing deploy code path (local: ComposeService; remote:
HTTP POST through proxyFetch). The frontend opt-in sheet shows a
confirmation modal (ConfirmModal) before the mutation. Failed
redeploys emit both a mesh activity event and a durable audit-log row.

Hardening:
- Reserve port 1852 at opt-in (prevents user containers from racing
  the Sencho API listener).
- ensureMeshNetwork refuses to continue if `sencho_mesh` exists with a
mismatched subnet rather than silently routing to the wrong IP.
- Idempotent network connect/disconnect helpers in DockerController.
- optInStack rolls back the DB row if the just-inserted stack's
override push fails (no half-states surviving across calls).
- regenerateOverridesForNode runs in parallel and skips the just-
  pushed stack on opt-in.

Operator template: drop `network_mode: host`, restore
`ports: ["1852:1852"]`. Mesh now works identically on Linux LAN, OCI,
and Docker Desktop without firewall changes.

Docs: rewrite docs/features/sencho-mesh.mdx around the shared bridge
network, document SENCHO_MESH_SUBNET, surface the host-network-service
opt-in restriction, and cross-link with the Pilot Agent docs.

BREAKING CHANGE: the operator's `docker-compose.yml` no longer uses
`network_mode: host`. After upgrading, redeploy any meshed stacks once
so they pick up the new IP-based override and join `sencho_mesh`.

* fix(mesh): wrap stackName with path.basename in local-override fs ops

CodeQL flagged js/path-injection on the new applyLocalOverride and
removeLocalOverride methods because they are publicly reachable and
its data-flow model does not recognize isValidStackName /
isPathWithinBase as sanitizers. The validation IS sufficient (the
allowlist regex blocks path separators, the path-prefix check blocks
escape), but path.basename is a model CodeQL recognizes and is purely
defensive: for any input that already passes isValidStackName,
basename is the identity.

Anso f599110386 feat(mesh): collapse sidecar into Sencho process via in-process forwarder (#1000)
The separate saelix/sencho-mesh sidecar container is gone. The
forwarder logic that previously lived in mesh-sidecar/src/forwarder.ts
moves into the Sencho process as backend/src/services/MeshForwarder.ts,
a thin per-port net.Server lifecycle wrapper. MeshService implements
the host interface and owns resolve plus splice; MeshForwarder owns
listener boilerplate. One container per node, no separate image to
publish, no control WebSocket.

Operator-facing change: the Sencho container now runs in
network_mode: host so the forwarder can bind alias ports on the host
network where meshed containers' extra_hosts host-gateway entries
point. Without host network mode the listeners would land in the
container's namespace and inbound traffic from peers would never
reach them. The 1852:1852 port publish becomes a no-op under host
mode and is commented out in the operator template.

Same-node forward path now dials the target container's bridge IP
via Dockerode (preferring the compose default network for
deterministic selection across daemon versions) instead of 127.0.0.1.
The legacy 127.0.0.1 path only worked when the target service
published its port to the host; the IP path works regardless.

Cross-node mesh routing in this phase is central -> pilot direction
only via PilotTunnelManager.openTcpStream. Pilot -> central and
pilot <-> pilot via central relay land in Phase B with the
tcp_open_reverse frame.

Deletions:
- mesh-sidecar/ package entirely (Dockerfile, package, sources, tests)
- backend/src/websocket/meshControl.ts
- MeshService sidecar lifecycle: spawnSidecar, stopSidecar,
  isSidecarRunning, mintSidecarToken, verifySidecarToken,
  attachSidecarSocket, handleSidecarResolve, sendSidecar
- POST /api/mesh/nodes/:id/sidecar/restart route
- /api/mesh/control WS dispatch in upgradeHandler

Type cleanup: 'sidecar' literal removed from MeshActivitySource and
MeshProbeResult.where (also the frontend mirror). MeshNodeStatus
sidecarRunning becomes localForwarderListening (boolean | null) so
non-local nodes get a null instead of an unconditional false; the
honest semantic is "this view only knows the local forwarder state;
remote forwarder status lands in Phase B." MeshNodeDiagnostic
sidecar object becomes forwarder { listening, listenerCount }.

Frontend MeshDiagnosticsSheet drops the restart-sidecar action and
sidecar liveness card; surfaces forwarder state plus a "runs
in-process; no separate container" caption.

Resolves audit findings C-1 (data plane non-functional), C-2 (sidecar
control WS not loopback-enforced), C-4 (sidecar lifecycle Dockerode-
on-remote, PR #999 closed), and C-5 (saelix/sencho-mesh:latest
unreachable). C-3 (PR #992) is unchanged. M-12 (PR #994) is
unchanged.

Anso 0f0b22c51a feat(fleet): Fleet Secrets tab with env-var bundles (v1 MVP) (#965)
* feat(fleet): add Fleet Secrets tab with versioned env-var bundles (Skipper+)

Centralized, encrypted-at-rest secret bundles that can be pushed to labeled
nodes' stacks. Each save bumps a monotonic version; each push records a
per-node-per-version row in `secret_pushes` plus an entry in `audit_log`.
Conflict detection shows added/changed/unchanged/removed (informational)
diffs before write. Overlay merge preserves keys missing from the bundle.

- Adds `secrets`, `secret_versions`, `secret_pushes` tables.
- New `SecretsService` reuses CryptoService for AES-256-GCM, NodeLabelService
for selectors, and direct fetch + Bearer for outbound calls to remote nodes.
- New `secretsRouter` with 9 endpoints under `/api/secrets`, gated by
`requirePaid`. Mounted after the auth gate.
- Audit summary patterns added for the new routes.
- New Fleet › Secrets tab with bundle list, editor sheet (key=value rows,
versions tab), and push wizard (selector, target stack, env file picker,
  per-node diff preview, results pills).
- Documentation: docs/features/fleet-secrets.mdx + docs.json nav entry.
- 26 Vitest cases cover parser, encryption, versioning, push aggregation,
  tier gating.

* fix(fleet): use const for rawValue in env parser

ESLint prefer-const flagged the let declaration as a CI-blocking error;
the variable is never reassigned.

Anso 52b46753af feat(fleet): add Federation tab with cordon and pin policy (Admiral) (#964)
Ships the v1 MVP for the Federation tab as placement control, not
placement automation:

- Cordon a node: marks the node unschedulable so the BlueprintReconciler
skips it for new placements only. Existing deployments continue to
drift-check and redeploy on revision changes; cordon never triggers
withdraw or eviction. Toggle on the NodeCard kebab (Admiral, admin
role); Cordoned pill renders for all tiers.
- Pin a blueprint to a node: stores blueprints.pinned_node_id, replacing
the desired set with the pinned node regardless of selector. Pin
  overrides cordon by design. Action lives only in the Federation tab;
BlueprintDetail and the deployment table show read-only Pinned
  indicators.

Backend: idempotent migrations add nodes.cordoned/cordoned_at/cordoned_reason
and blueprints.pinned_node_id. New routes POST /api/nodes/:id/cordon,
POST /api/nodes/:id/uncordon, PUT /api/blueprints/:id/pin, all gated by
requireAdmiral plus requireAdmin. Audit summaries added so the existing
auditLog middleware records every operator action. deleteNode clears
dangling pins.

Reconciler: pin override evaluated before selector match; cordon filter
applied only to the new-placement branch (deploy/stateReview without an
existing deployment). 11 new Vitest cases cover cordon filter, pin
override, pin-overrides-cordon, missing pin target, pin shrinks
desired set (stateless withdraw + stateful evict_blocked), and pin
clearing on node delete.

Frontend: new FederationTab.tsx with cordoned-nodes summary and
pin-policy table. Federation moved out of the experimental flag into
{isAdmiral && (...)} + AdmiralGate, mirroring the Routing tab pattern.
Secrets stays under experimental.

Tests pass: backend tsc, full Vitest suite (1704 passed), frontend
tsc -b, ESLint (0 errors). Manual verification via the local dev
instance confirmed the tab is hidden at Community, the kebab and pill
render at Admiral, and cordon and pin endpoints round-trip end to end.

Refs cut-line-1.0.md Federation v1 MVP.

Anso 77d5ff58d3 feat(fleet): add Fleet Actions tab for cross-node bulk operations (#963)
* feat(fleet): add Fleet Actions tab for cross-node bulk operations

Introduces a new "Actions" sub-tab in Fleet view with two Skipper+ cards
that fill gaps in the existing surface:

- Stop fleet by label: matches a label name across every node and stops
every stack assigned to it, reporting per-node and per-stack results.
- Bulk label assign: applies the same label set to many stacks on one
node in a single round trip.

Other bulk operations stay in their existing homes (sidebar bulk mode,
Schedules, NodeUpdatesSheet) to avoid duplicate surfaces.

Backend:
- POST /api/fleet/labels/fleet-stop (gateway-orchestrated, multi-node)
- POST /api/fleet-actions/labels/bulk-assign (per-node, capped at 1000)
- Tightens /api/fleet proxy-exempt prefix to /api/fleet/ so
/api/fleet-actions/* is routed through the proxy for per-node calls.
- Exports activeBulkActions from labels.ts so fleet-stop and label-action
share the per-node lock and cannot double-stop the same containers.
- Extracts containerActionForStack helper from stacks.ts for reuse.

* chore(fleet): rename Actions tab to Fleet Actions and reorder Fleet sub-tabs

- Tab label "Actions" -> "Fleet Actions" so the surface is unambiguous
alongside Schedules and the sidebar bulk bar.
- Reorder Fleet sub-tabs as Overview / Snapshots / Status | Deployments /
Traffic / Fleet Actions, with the separator after Status.
- Rename "Traffic · Routing" -> "Traffic" and update Sencho Mesh docs to
  match the shorter label.
- Update Fleet Actions docs to the new tab name and placement.

Anso 4d9617a5c6 feat(frontend): add SystemSheet primitive and migrate mesh sheets to §9.11 chrome (#960)
DESIGN.md §9.11 codifies one canonical right-side detail-sheet shell (cyan
rail, mono crumb, italic serif name, mono meta, ESC chip + close glyph,
fixed three-slot toolbar, cyan-underline tabs, ScrollArea body, footer
freshness band). Today the 16 sheet consumers each render their own
header chrome with stock shadcn SheetHeader/SheetTitle.

Introduce <SystemSheet> + <SheetSection> in
frontend/src/components/ui/system-sheet.tsx, composing the existing
<Sheet>/<SheetContent> primitive. Add a backward-compatible showClose
prop to SheetContent so SystemSheet can render its own ESC chip + close
glyph instead of the stock cyan square close.

Migrate the four mesh sheets as the first batch:
* MeshActivitySheet: crumb Fleet › Mesh › Activity, footer freshness from
  most-recent event timestamp.
* MeshOptInSheet: crumb Fleet › Mesh › {nodeName}, meta of opted-in
count, drops the redundant bottom Close button (ESC chip dismisses).
* MeshDiagnosticsSheet: removes the icon-prefixed title (forbidden by
§9.11), lifts Refresh/Restart buttons from the body into the toolbar
band, three SheetSection blocks for sidecar status, streams, cache.
* MeshRouteDetailSheet: adds Overview/Events/Raw tabs, lifts Test probe
into the toolbar primary slot, footer surfaces last probe latency.
