This removes the immediate connection between human emotions and version numbers, strictly following the [Semantic Versioning](http://semver.org) specification and communicating the **impact** of changes to consumers.
## Core Engine
`semantic-release` now uses [`@semantic-release/core`](https://github.com/semantic-release/core) as its release engine.
For existing users, behavior stays the same: the `semantic-release` CLI, default plugin profile, and current configuration model remain backward compatible.
If you want to build a custom CLI or compose your own plugin stack directly, use `@semantic-release/core`.
