Hauser d2c1434a02 fix: isolate internode reads and migrate crypto dependencies (#8872)
* fix(rio): isolate internode streams with pooled HTTP/1.1

Default the internode HTTP data plane to reusable HTTP/1.1 connections so paused shard bodies cannot consume shared HTTP/2 receive credit. Retain explicit auto negotiation and the existing TLS, pooling, and recovery paths.

Refs rustfs/rustfs#8843 and rustfs/backlog#2934.

* perf(rpc): frame bounded shard reads for connection reuse

Preserve the bounded read cap and stream-to-EOF sentinel while making connection completion independent of a chunked terminator. Cover exact reads without EOF polling, pooled TLS reuse, and partial-body truncation.

* fix(deps): migrate signer and OIDC to patched crypto

Pin the requested signer fix and upstream OIDC/OAuth2 crypto migrations to immutable commits. Preserve registry SDK type identity, remove the old bigint and elliptic-curve chains, and verify independent login state, nonce, and PKCE values.

Hauser 34803e8165 perf(ecstore): isolate cleanup and preserve metadata authority (#8289)
* chore: pin s3s to upstream git revision

Use the upstream s3s git repository at 50c94aeb1e5ea9ef8e7393ef6bbc87b72f6891c6 for both s3s and s3s-sigv4.

* feat(observability): add sampled local GetObject stage summaries

Add an opt-in GetObject stage aggregation path that works without the
OTLP metrics export. When RUSTFS_OBS_GET_STAGE_LOCAL_SUMMARY_ENABLED is
set, io-metrics keeps per-(path, stage, object class, size bucket)
sampled counts and duration totals in a bounded in-process map, and a
startup task flushes them periodically to
/var/log/rustfs/get-stage-summary.log, tunable via the sample rate and
interval env keys.

* build(deps): bump workspace dependency releases

Patch releases: async-compression 0.4.49, tokio-rustls 0.26.6,
xxhash-rust 0.8.19, suppaftp 12.1.1, russh-sftp 3.0.1. Minor release:
hotpath 0.27.0.

* fix(ecstore): fence distributed metadata cache mutations

Add authenticated cluster-wide mutation fences for the opt-in DistErasure GetObject metadata cache. Guard recursive prefix and batch deletes, fail closed on configuration mismatch or uncertain quorum, and cover replay, restart, peer loss, and mixed-configuration behavior.

Keep legacy records isolated and enforce replay byte limits with conservative
whole-bucket or unverified fallback. Add publication-stage diagnostics and

Chris 5eee2aaead fix(auth): reject unsigned x-amz headers on header-signed SigV4 requests (#7796)
* fix(auth): reject unsigned x-amz headers on header-signed SigV4 requests

A SigV4 request authenticated with an Authorization header only binds the headers named in its SignedHeaders list, but RustFS acted on every x-amz-* header that arrived, so a replayed header-signed PutObject carrying an unsigned x-amz-copy-source became a CopyObject run as the signer that could copy any object the signer can read (GHSA-xm99-m3gq-83g8). The presigned form was already closed by GHSA-g8w9-qw9q-fghr.

reject_unsigned_amz_headers_on_sigv4_request now guards S3Access::check and S3Router::check_access: every SigV4 signed-header list the request carries must cover every x-amz-* header, the Authorization header is parsed with the verifier's own s3s-sigv4 parser and compared case-insensitively, the algorithm token is pinned to AWS4-HMAC-SHA256 because the upstream header path accepts any token, and the exempt set mirrors the upstream s3s fix (x-amz-content-sha256, x-amz-decoded-content-length, x-amz-trailer, x-amz-checksum-algorithm) plus x-amz-cf-id. Adds ghsa_xm99 unit, router and e2e regressions, raises the security smoke floor to 28, and records the advisory in docs/testing/security-regressions.md and CHANGELOG.md.

* chore(deps): switch s3s and s3s-sigv4 to crates.io 0.16.0

* fix(server): enforce the SigV4 header guard ahead of s3s dispatch

s3s 0.16 verifies the claimed algorithm as the first step of its own
signature flow, so a request whose Authorization header swaps the
AWS4-HMAC-SHA256 token was answered with 501 NotImplemented before
RustFS's access layer could rule on the unsigned x-amz-copy-source
(GHSA-xm99-m3gq-83g8). Add the SigV4HeaderGuardLayer as the innermost
external stack layer, running reject_unsigned_amz_headers_on_sigv4_request
in front of s3s and serializing its rejections as the same AccessDenied
S3 error document the access layer produces.

Chris 64e0ac08ce revert: remove M1 gateway git dependency until CI can access rustfs/gateway (#7787)
Revert "feat(server): add RUSTFS_S3_STACK with a gateway GetBucketLocation path (#7786)"

Chris b5c2e1da90 feat(server): add RUSTFS_S3_STACK with a gateway GetBucketLocation path (#7786)
* fix(connect): restore the site replication producer build

The producer shadowed its object_url helper with a local of the same
name, and its test placed the consent nonce on the request, so neither
the rustfs library nor its tests compiled on main.

* feat(server): add RUSTFS_S3_STACK with a gateway GetBucketLocation path

RUSTFS_S3_STACK=legacy (default) keeps the s3s service as the whole S3
entry. RUSTFS_S3_STACK=gateway routes GetBucketLocation through the
RustFS Gateway pipeline pinned at rustfs/gateway@90b83a20 and falls back
to the same s3s service for every other request, decided before the
body is read. Refs rustfs/backlog#1752.

houseme 648d5166e2 feat(allocator): replace mimalloc/libmimalloc-sys with rustfs-mimalloc/rustfs-mimalloc-sys (#6404)
Replace the upstream xonatius/mimalloc_rust.git fork (mimalloc + libmimalloc-sys)
with the published rustfs-mimalloc (v0.5.0) and rustfs-mimalloc-sys (v0.5.0) crates
from crates.io.

The new crates are based on mimalloc V3 (v3.5.0) and provide:
- MiMalloc global allocator with safe API (collect, stats_json, process_info)
- Heap management and arena operations (heap module)
- Full FFI bindings to mimalloc V3

Changes:
- Workspace deps: mimalloc + libmimalloc-sys (git) → rustfs-mimalloc + rustfs-mimalloc-sys (crates.io)
- allocator_reclaim.rs: libmimalloc_sys::mi_collect → rustfs_mimalloc::MiMalloc::collect
- memory_observability.rs: raw FFI mi_stats_get_json → MiMalloc::stats_json()
- main.rs: heap ownership tests use Heap::contains() (V3 API)
- deny.toml: remove xonatius/mimalloc_rust.git from allow-git

* feat(kms): record real cache hit, miss and eviction metrics (#5531)

* feat(kms): record real cache hit, miss and eviction metrics

The metadata cache reported (entry_count, 0) because moka exposes no hit
or miss counts, so the miss half of every cache report was a constant.

Track lookups and removals in the cache itself: hit/miss counters on the
lookup path, a moka eviction listener classifying removals by cause, and
an entry gauge refreshed whenever the entry set changes. The counters are
exported through the metrics facade under the rustfs_kms_ prefix with
static label values only, matching the operation-policy metrics, and are
also returned as a KmsCacheStats snapshot in place of the old tuple.

Cache semantics are unchanged: capacity, TTL and invalidation points are
the same, and remove now flushes pending maintenance so the gauge and the
removal notification describe the cache the caller sees.

Refs rustfs/backlog#1584

* fix(kms): report real cache counters through the admin status API

KmsStatusResponse.cache_stats mapped the old (entry_count, 0) tuple onto
hit_count and miss_count, so operators polling KMS status read the entry
count as a hit count and a miss count that was always zero.

Map the fields to the counters they claim to be, and add entry_count and
eviction_count as additive, defaulted fields so the entry number that
hit_count used to carry is still available.

Refs rustfs/backlog#1584

* fix(kms): refresh the cache entry gauge on lookup misses

The entry gauge was published only from the write paths, so an entry
dropped by TTL expiry left `rustfs_kms_metadata_cache_entries` reporting
a population that no longer existed until the next put, remove or clear.
A cache that goes quiet — entries ageing out with no further writes —
kept over-reporting indefinitely.

Republish the gauge from the lookup path when the lookup misses. A miss
is where expiry surfaces, and moka reaps expired entries in the
maintenance it runs during that same lookup, so the count read
afterwards reflects the reaping. Hits stay free of the extra work.

* docs(kms): correct the entry gauge convergence claim on the miss path

The comment on the miss-path gauge refresh said moka reaps expired
entries in the maintenance it runs on that same lookup. It does not:
`should_apply_reads` is gated on a full read log or an elapsed
housekeeping interval, so the removal that decrements `entry_count` and
reaches the eviction listener may land on a later lookup.

The behaviour and the test are unchanged — the gauge still converges,
and the test drives `run_pending_tasks` explicitly rather than riding on
that interval. Only the stated guarantee was wrong, so say interval
instead of same-lookup and record why forcing maintenance on the read
path was not the trade taken.

Zhengchao An 0f83a27f6a fix(deps): pin hyper to flush-before-shutdown fix for large-GET unexpected EOF (#4797)
* fix(deps): pin hyper to flush-before-shutdown fix for large-GET unexpected EOF

hyper <= 1.10.1 can call poll_shutdown() on an HTTP/1 socket while response
bytes are still buffered (a prior poll_flush() returned Poll::Pending and the
result was discarded), so a backpressured/slow-reading peer receives a graceful
FIN before the full Content-Length body is flushed. Standard S3 clients
(minio-go/warp) report this as sporadic `unexpected EOF` on large-object GET
under load (rustfs/backlog#1232). This is the transport-layer bug from
Cloudflare's "hyper-bug" writeup — distinct from the EC-reconstruct-desync EOF
already fixed via lockstep decode; here the app layer delivers the full body and
truncation is purely hyper->socket.

Fixed upstream in hyperium/hyper#4018 (commit 72046cc7, "fix(http1): flush
buffered data before shutdown"), which is not in any crates.io release yet as of
hyper 1.10.1. Pin hyper via [patch.crates-io] to git rev ccc1e850 (a descendant
of the fix that still declares version 1.10.1).

Use [patch.crates-io], not a git+rev on the workspace `hyper` dependency: the
server connection is driven by the transitive hyper-util (conn::auto /
GracefulShutdown), and a git source would not unify with the crates.io hyper
hyper-util resolves, leaving two hyper copies with the server path still on the
buggy one. The patch rewrites the crates.io source globally, so the lockfile
holds a single git-sourced hyper.

Add rustfs/tests/hyper_h1_shutdown_flush_regression.rs, a deterministic guard
(mirrors hyper's own h1_shutdown_while_buffered) that fails if the pin is dropped
or hyper is downgraded below the fix. Its load-bearing assertion is a
synchronously-set flag, so a slow runner can only under-detect, never false-red.

Closes rustfs/backlog#1232.

* build(deny): allow the hyperium/hyper git source for the flush-before-shutdown pin

cargo-deny's [sources] check denies unknown git sources. The hyper
[patch.crates-io] pin added for rustfs/backlog#1232 uses a github.com/hyperium
git source, so add it to allow-git with an owner/review note and a removal
condition (drop once a released hyper > 1.10.1 carries commit 72046cc7).

houseme f9874b591a [DO NOT MERGE until published] chore(ecstore): switch rustfs-uring to crates.io 0.1.0 (#4701)
* chore(ecstore): switch rustfs-uring from the git rev to crates.io 0.1.0

Prepared ahead of the rustfs-uring 0.1.0 crates.io release (rustfs/uring):
flip ecstore's dependency from the pinned git revision to the published
`0.1.0`, and drop the now-unneeded git-source allowance in deny.toml.

DO NOT MERGE until rustfs-uring 0.1.0 is on crates.io. Until then cargo
cannot resolve `rustfs-uring = "0.1.0"`, so this branch will not build and
CI will be red — that is expected, not a defect in the change.

After the crate is published:
  1. `cargo update -p rustfs-uring --precise 0.1.0` to regenerate Cargo.lock
     (deliberately not touched here — the registry entry, with its checksum,
     cannot be written before the crate exists);
  2. push the Cargo.lock;
  3. CI goes green; merge.

No code change. The guard `scripts/check_no_tokio_io_uring.sh` is unaffected
(it bans only tokio's io-uring runtime feature, not an explicit rustfs-uring
dependency). `audit.yml`'s `allow-dependencies-licenses` for rustfs-uring is
left in place — it is a first-party Apache-2.0 crate either way.

houseme da755eb66b feat(ecstore): runtime-probed io_uring read backend, gray-off by default (backlog#1104) (#4632)
feat(ecstore): add runtime-probed io_uring read backend, gray-off by default (rustfs/backlog#1104)

Wire the standalone rustfs-uring crate (https://github.com/rustfs/uring) into
LocalIoBackend as an opt-in read backend. When RUSTFS_IO_URING_READ_ENABLE is
set AND the per-disk io_uring probe succeeds, positioned reads go through the
cancel-safe UringDriver; otherwise — default, or on a restricted host, or on
any per-read driver error — reads fall back to StdBackend byte-for-byte, so the
default build is unchanged.

- Cargo.toml: rustfs-uring as a Linux-only git dependency (pinned rev). The
  guard scripts/check_no_tokio_io_uring.sh allows an explicit io-uring
  integration; only the tokio "io-uring" runtime feature is banned.
- UringBackend mirrors StdBackend::pread_bytes's resolution/access/bounds
  preamble and only swaps the raw byte read; the other three trait methods
  delegate to the inner StdBackend.
- Backend selection at LocalDisk construction via build_local_io_backend.
- Differential test uring_backend_reads_match_std: with the flag set, every
  positioned read returns byte-identical data (driver-served when io_uring is
  available, StdBackend fallback otherwise).

Verified: cargo check -p rustfs-ecstore on Linux; the differential test passes
under real io_uring (seccomp=unconfined). The runtime errno degradation latch,
per-disk probe cache, and productionization are tracked in
rustfs/backlog#1101/#1102.
