Propagate creation, ownership, environment-write and permission failures explicitly, including when Bash errexit is disabled by a caller. Require directory admission in all five installation/update paths before later helper, unit, service or completion work. Preserve existing bytes and report partial setup honestly. Register confined failure and success controls with the deployment contract.
