pulse-triage[bot] f4808c56b2 Preserve trailing pathname bytes in configuration snapshots ...

Keep a capture sentinel around dirname and basename output so command substitution cannot move a custom instance's backup and retention into a trimmed-name peer. Stop explicitly on component resolution failure, including conditional update callers, and treat relative option-shaped paths as data. Register filesystem controls for final-name and parent newlines, retention, peer state and failure paths. This is a remaining edge of Pulse #3611; the earlier literal-pattern repair in PR #3610 is also required.
