Merge published upstream through fac0cf1652 without rewriting either history. Preserve the locally reviewed Windows command-client cleanup when resolving its equivalent upstream patch. All incoming frontend files retain their exact upstream content and original receipt. The supplied 6bf99407 preflight candidate remains unintegrated pending its own exact-source regression proof.

Contract-Neutral: Upstream convergence preserves published source identities and existing cleanup behavior; no new runtime or receipt semantics are authored by this merge.
