The first-install generator replaced customised Compose files and overwrote its one recovery backup on every rerun. Refuse existing Compose paths before Docker or output writes, retain regular environment files, and prevent output clobbering. Report configuration preparation rather than an installation that was never run.

Contract-Neutral: Restore intended setup idempotency and saved-deployment preservation; no generated Compose schema, runtime policy, image default, upgrade API or lifecycle contract changes.
