Exercise every CORE recovery regression poll cycle ...
A zero test deadline reinstates the real connection interval, so it did not make subsequent cycles due. Use a nonzero expired fixture deadline and assert each cycle reaches the disk endpoint; keep production scheduling and failure/recovery assertions unchanged.
