Teardown no longer purges the index registry or KB/DataSource records by default, mirroring how they already survive a restart; a --purge-metadata flag restores the old full wipe for an intentional destroy. On the next appliance connect, a new reconcile pass re-creates any registry index whose pg table is missing and re-enqueues ingest from its persisted SourceSpecs, so a torn-down appliance heals without operator action and keeps its KB id.
