### Fixed
- **COOP header console warning on HTTP deployments:** Helmet sends `Cross-Origin-Opener-Policy: same-origin` by default, which browsers silently ignore over HTTP but log as a console error. Disabled via `crossOriginOpenerPolicy: false` — same rationale as the existing HSTS and COEP disables.
- **Inline script CSP violation from Vite module-preload polyfill:** Vite's production build injects a small inline `<script>` for the module-preload polyfill that was blocked by `script-src 'self'`. Disabled via `build.modulePreload.polyfill: false` in `vite.config.ts` — all modern browsers support `<link rel="modulepreload">` natively.
- **Managed container count wrong when stacks launched from COMPOSE_DIR root:** The `GET /api/stats` endpoint classified containers as managed by matching `com.docker.compose.project` against known stack directory names. When stacks are launched from the COMPOSE_DIR root (rather than each subdirectory), Docker assigns the root folder name as the project name for all of them — causing every such container to appear as "external". Fixed by classifying via `com.docker.compose.project.working_dir`: a container is managed if its working directory falls within COMPOSE_DIR, regardless of the project name.
- **Blank page on HTTP deployments (root cause — Helmet 8 default CSP):** Helmet 8 merges custom `directives` with its built-in defaults, which include `upgrade-insecure-requests`. The previous fix (PR #59) omitted the directive from the custom object, but Helmet silently re-added it from defaults. The correct fix is `upgradeInsecureRequests: null`, which is the Helmet 8 API for explicitly removing a default directive.
- **Login loop caused by remote node auth failure:** When a configured remote node had an expired or invalid API token, every proxied request to that node returned 401. Both `apiFetch` and `fetchForNode` treated any 401 as a user session failure and dispatched `sencho-unauthorized`, immediately logging the user out and sending them back to the login page — even after a successful login. Fixed by adding a `proxyRes` handler that stamps all remote-proxied responses with `x-sencho-proxy: 1`; the frontend now only fires `sencho-unauthorized` when this header is absent (i.e., it's a genuine local session failure).
- **Missing `authMiddleware` on notifications endpoints:** `GET /api/notifications`, `POST /api/notifications/read`, `DELETE /api/notifications/:id`, `DELETE /api/notifications`, and `POST /api/notifications/test` were all missing `authMiddleware`, violating the default-deny policy. Added to all five.
- **CSP `workerSrc` missing (Monaco editor workers):** The Content Security Policy had no explicit `worker-src` directive, which in practice relied on `default-src 'self'`. Monaco editor creates Web Workers via `blob:` URLs for language services; these were silently failing. Added `worker-src 'self' blob:`.
- **CSP `connectSrc` implicit (WebSocket):** Added explicit `connect-src 'self' ws: wss:` to clearly permit same-origin WebSocket connections in both HTTP and HTTPS contexts.

### Fixed
- **Blank page on HTTP deployments (CSP `upgrade-insecure-requests`):** Helmet's default CSP included `upgrade-insecure-requests`, which causes browsers to silently upgrade all HTTP sub-resource fetches (JS, CSS, images) to HTTPS. On a plain-HTTP self-hosted deployment this produces a completely blank page with `ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR`. The directive is now explicitly omitted from the CSP.
- **HSTS permanently breaking HTTP access:** Helmet's default `Strict-Transport-Security` header was being sent over HTTP, instructing browsers to refuse non-HTTPS connections for 1 year. HSTS is now disabled and must only be re-enabled by users who terminate HTTPS at a reverse proxy in front of Sencho.
- **Docker socket EACCES root:root edge case:** Entrypoint now handles the case where the Docker socket is owned by root:root (GID 0) in addition to the standard root:docker case. Diagnostic `[entrypoint]` log lines are emitted at startup to make group detection visible in `docker logs`.
- **Docker volume permissions on startup:** A new `docker-entrypoint.sh` script now runs as root at container start, fixes ownership of the `$DATA_DIR` volume (only files with wrong user or group), then drops to the non-root `sencho` user via `su-exec` before starting Node. This eliminates the `SQLITE_READONLY` crash experienced when a host-mounted data volume was previously created by root or a different UID. Uses the same privilege-drop pattern as the official PostgreSQL, Redis, and MariaDB Docker images. Node becomes PID 1, ensuring SIGTERM/SIGINT are handled correctly for graceful shutdown.

- **Resources Hub — Managed/Unmanaged Separation:** All Docker resources (images, volumes, networks) are now classified as `managed` (belonging to a Sencho stack), `external` (belonging to another Compose project), or `unused`/`system`. Classification is exposed via a new `GET /api/system/resources` endpoint that makes 4 parallel Docker API calls once and returns all three resource types in a single round trip.
- **Docker Disk Footprint widget:** Replaces the Reclaimable Space donut chart with an interactive horizontal stacked bar showing Sencho Managed vs External Projects vs Reclaimable bytes. Clicking a segment filters the Images and Volumes tabs simultaneously.
- **Scoped prune operations:** Quick Clean buttons now target Sencho-managed resources only by default ("Sencho only" label). An "All Docker" option is hidden in a `⋮` dropdown per prune target, with a distinct destructive confirmation dialog. The `POST /api/system/prune/system` endpoint accepts an optional `scope: 'managed' | 'all'` body parameter; a new `pruneManagedOnly()` method on `DockerController` filters by `com.docker.compose.project` label before removing resources.

- **Active Containers split stat:** `GET /api/stats` now returns `managed` and `unmanaged` container counts in addition to `active`/`exited`/`total`. The Home Dashboard "Active Containers" card subtitle shows "N managed · N external".

### Security
- **Fixed:** `POST /api/system/console-token` was missing `authMiddleware` — any unauthenticated client could generate console session tokens. Fixed by adding `authMiddleware` to the route.
- **Fixed:** Remote node `api_url` was accepted without validation — an attacker could set it to `http://localhost:6379` to SSRF into internal services. Now validates: must be a well-formed `http://` or `https://` URL, and the hostname may not be `localhost`, `127.x.x.x`, `[::1]`, or `0.0.0.0`.
- **Fixed:** `env_file` paths in compose.yaml were accepted without boundary checking — absolute paths like `/etc/passwd` could be read/written. All resolved env file paths are now validated to stay within the stack directory.
- **Fixed:** Stack name was validated in write routes but not in GET routes (`/api/stacks/:stackName`, `/api/stacks/:stackName/env`, `/api/stacks/:stackName/envs`) — path-traversal names now return 400 on all routes.
- **Added:** Rate limiting on `/api/auth/login` and `/api/auth/setup` — 5 attempts per 15-minute window per IP, using `express-rate-limit`.
- **Added:** `helmet` middleware for security response headers (X-Frame-Options, X-Content-Type-Options, Referrer-Policy, etc.).
- **Changed:** CORS is now restricted to `FRONTEND_URL` env var in production; development continues to allow any origin.

### Fixed
- **Fixed:** E2E nodes tests (`nodes.spec.ts`) were permanently timing out because the "Add Node" submit button requires both `api_url` and `api_token` to be non-empty before it enables. The tests filled the URL fields but not `api_token`, leaving the button disabled for the full 30 s timeout. Fixed by filling `#node-api-token` with a dummy value in both validation tests so the button enables and the form can be submitted — the backend then correctly rejects the invalid URL and surfaces the expected error toast.
- **Fixed:** ESLint CI step now passes with zero errors — replaced all `any` type annotations with proper types or `unknown` casts, fixed unused catch variables, suppressed `react-refresh/only-export-components` on files that intentionally export both a component and a hook/constant (contexts, badge, button), added file-level `eslint-disable` on animate-ui third-party primitives, and added `eslint-disable-next-line react-hooks/set-state-in-effect` for the LogViewer state reset pattern.
- **Fixed:** Four empty `catch {}` blocks in `EditorLayout` (mark-all-read, delete notification, clear-all notifications, image update fetch) now surface errors via `toast.error()` instead of silently swallowing them.
- **Fixed:** `ErrorBoundary` component existed but was not connected — it now wraps the root `<App />` in `main.tsx`, catching crashes in any context provider or route component.
- **Fixed:** `AlertDialogContent` used `asChild` on `AlertDialogPrimitive.Content` with a `motion.div` wrapper — Radix internally injects a second child (`DescriptionWarning`), causing `React.Children.only` to throw and the ErrorBoundary to trigger whenever the delete-stack confirmation dialog opened. Replaced with CSS keyframe animations (`data-[state=open]:animate-in` / `data-[state=closed]:animate-out`) which don't require `asChild`.
- **Fixed:** `WebSocket.Server` replaced with named import `WebSocketServer` from `ws` to fix ESM/CJS interop in test environments.
- **Added:** Cross-node notification aggregation — the notification bell now surfaces alerts from all connected remote nodes, not just the local instance. On mount and whenever the node list changes, `EditorLayout` fetches notification history from every registered node in parallel (using `fetchForNode` with targeted `x-node-id` headers). Each remote node also gets a dedicated real-time WebSocket connection (`/ws/notifications?nodeId=`) so alerts push instantly as they fire. Remote-sourced notifications display a node-name badge for quick identification. Mark-as-read, delete, and clear-all actions are routed to the correct node. The backend WS upgrade handler was updated to allow `/ws/notifications?nodeId=<remoteId>` to fall through to the existing proxy path (bare `/ws/notifications` with no nodeId continues to connect locally as before).
- **Fixed:** Remote node host console and container exec WebSocket connections now succeed — the gateway exchanges the long-lived `node_proxy` api_token for a short-lived `console_session` JWT (60 s TTL) via a new `POST /api/system/console-token` endpoint before forwarding the WS upgrade to the remote. Previously the remote's `isProxyToken` guard correctly blocked `node_proxy` tokens from interactive terminals, which also blocked legitimate user-initiated console sessions routed through the gateway.
- **Fixed:** `StackAlertSheet` now fetches notification agent status from the active node on open and displays a contextual banner: green checkmark with active channel names when agents are enabled, amber warning with a link to Settings → Notifications when none are configured, and a blue info callout on remote nodes explaining that alerts are evaluated and dispatched by that remote Sencho instance.
- **Fixed:** `SettingsModal` Notifications tab is no longer hidden when a remote node is active — users can now configure Discord/Slack/Webhook channels directly on any remote node. The section header shows the remote node name and a "Remote" badge with a tooltip explaining that channels are saved on the remote instance.
- **Fixed:** `StackAlertSheet` form error handling now surfaces the actual server error message (`err.error`) instead of a generic "Failed to add alert rule." string; console error logging added for all failure paths to aid debugging.
- **Fixed:** `POST /api/alerts` now validates the request body with a Zod schema — rejects unknown metric/operator values, negative thresholds, and missing required fields with a structured 400 response instead of passing raw input to SQLite.
- **Fixed:** Remote node HTTP proxy body forwarding — replaced the manual `proxyReq.write(JSON.stringify(req.body))` approach (which raced against `http-proxy`'s `process.nextTick(proxyReq.end)` and lost, causing "write after end" and the request to hang) with a conditional JSON body parser that skips `express.json()` entirely for remote-targeted `/api/` requests. The raw `IncomingMessage` stream is left unconsumed so `http-proxy`'s `req.pipe(proxyReq)` can forward it intact. This fixes the "Add Rule spins forever on remote nodes" bug.
- **Fixed:** WebSocket notification reconnect in `EditorLayout` upgraded to exponential backoff (1 s → 2 s → 4 s → 8 s → 16 s → 30 s max) instead of a flat 5-second retry; `ws.onerror` now logs the event rather than silently calling `close()`; cleanup correctly guards against closing a WebSocket that is already in CLOSING/CLOSED state, eliminating the "WebSocket is closed before the connection is established" console error on React StrictMode double-mount.
- **Security:** Host Console and container exec WebSocket endpoints now reject `node_proxy` scoped JWT tokens with HTTP 403 — machine-to-machine proxy credentials can no longer be used to open interactive terminals.
- **Security:** `stackParam` query parameter on `/api/system/host-console` is now validated against `path.resolve` + `startsWith(baseDir)` to prevent directory traversal when setting the PTY working directory.
- **Security:** `HostTerminalService` no longer forwards the full `process.env` to spawned PTY shells; `JWT_SECRET`, `AUTH_PASSWORD`, `AUTH_PASSWORD_HASH`, and `DATABASE_URL` are stripped before the shell is spawned.
- **Fixed:** Animated design system overhaul — 9 UI bugs resolved: (1) compose.yaml ↔ .env tab switching no longer accumulates height (Monaco's internal `position:static` child created a circular CSS dependency with the grid; fixed by resetting Monaco to 0×0 then forcing a synchronous reflow before re-measuring); (2) sliding tab indicator on compose/env tabs; (3) sliding tab indicator on Notification tabs (Discord/Slack/Webhook); (4) switch thumb now animates position (added Radix data-attribute CSS translation); (5) "Always Local" badge tooltip no longer crashes the page (replaced animate-ui tooltip that called `getStrictContext` with pure Radix primitives); (6) Auto theme option added to Appearance settings (light/dark/auto with `window.matchMedia` listener); (7) Cancel/Add Node buttons in NodeManager dialogs no longer stuck together (added custom `DialogFooter` with proper gap classes); (8) AlertDialog now uses spring animation (`stiffness: 380, damping: 32`) and Quick Clean button text wraps correctly; (9) Resources/App Store/Logs menu buttons now toggle off on second click. Monaco container received `overflow-hidden` to prevent height escape.

- **Changed:** Design system overhauled — new brand cyan token (`--brand`, `oklch(0.72 0.14 200)` dark / `oklch(0.50 0.14 200)` light) applied to focus rings across both themes. CSS custom properties added for motion easing curves (`--ease-spring`, `--ease-out-expo`), animation durations, and stagger delay utilities. `prefers-reduced-motion` respected globally.

- **Changed:** Notification delivery replaced polling with WebSocket push - `EditorLayout` no longer runs a `setInterval` to fetch `/api/notifications` every 5 seconds. A persistent `ws://host/ws/notifications` connection is opened on mount; the backend pushes each new alert in real-time as it is dispatched. Auto-reconnects with a 5-second back-off on close.
- **Added:** `NotificationService.setBroadcaster()` - injectable callback wired to a `notificationSubscribers` Set in `index.ts`; every authenticated WS client subscribed to `/ws/notifications` receives a `{ type: 'notification', payload: NotificationHistory }` message the moment `dispatchAlert` fires.
- **Changed:** `DatabaseService.addNotificationHistory` now returns the full inserted `NotificationHistory` record (including auto-generated `id` and `is_read: false`) instead of `void`, enabling the broadcaster to push the complete record to clients.
- **Added:** `/ws/notifications` WebSocket upgrade path in `index.ts` - handled before the remote-node proxy path so it is always local. JWT auth verified manually (same pattern as all other WS paths per Directive 8).

- **Security:** `POST /api/settings` now enforces a strict allowlist of writable keys - attempts to write auth credential keys (`auth_jwt_secret`, `auth_password_hash`, etc.) or arbitrary unknown keys are rejected with a 400 error.
- **Added:** `PATCH /api/settings` bulk-update endpoint - accepts a partial settings object, validates all values via a Zod schema (type checking, range enforcement, URL format validation), and persists changes atomically in a single SQLite transaction. Replaces the N+1 per-key POST loop.
- **Added:** `system_state` SQLite table - separates runtime operational state (e.g. janitor alert cooldown timestamp) from user-defined configuration in `global_settings`. `MonitorService` now writes `last_janitor_alert_timestamp` to `system_state` instead of `global_settings`, eliminating false positives in future audit logging.
- **Added:** `metrics_retention_hours` (default: 24h) and `log_retention_days` (default: 30d) configurable settings - `MonitorService` now reads these dynamically each cycle instead of using hardcoded values. Notification history is pruned on the same cycle as container metrics.
- **Fixed:** Developer settings (`developer_mode`, `global_logs_refresh`, `metrics_retention_hours`, `log_retention_days`) are now correctly scoped to the local Sencho instance - when a remote node is active, `fetchSettings` performs a secondary `localOnly` fetch for these keys and `saveDeveloperSettings` always writes to local via the new `apiFetch({ localOnly: true })` option, preventing UI preferences from being proxied into remote nodes' databases.
- **Added:** `localOnly` option on `apiFetch` - omits the `x-node-id` header so requests always route to the local node regardless of the active node context.

- **Refactor:** `SettingsModal` frontend overhauled - per-operation loading states replace the single shared `isLoading` flag (saving system settings no longer disables notification test buttons). Settings are fetched before UI is interactive (skeleton loader blocks premature saves). Only known patchable keys are hydrated into component state (auth keys can never enter React state). Unsaved-changes dot indicator on sidebar nav items. All saves use the new `PATCH /api/settings` endpoint. Developer tab gains a "Data Retention" section for metrics and log retention controls.
- **Added:** App Store category filter - LSIO templates are now grouped into categories (Automation, Downloaders, Media, Monitoring, Networking, Security, Development, Productivity, Utilities, Other) via a static lookup map in `TemplateService`. A horizontal pill bar below the search field lets users filter by category; clicking a category badge on a template card also activates the filter. Category badges highlight when their category is the active filter. App count updates reactively.
- **Added:** App Store registry settings - new "App Store" section in Settings lets users supply a custom Portainer v2 JSON template URL to override the default LinuxServer.io registry. - **Fixed:** Container stats WebSocket flooding React with up to 20+ `setState` calls per second in `EditorLayout` - each container's `onmessage` handler called `setContainerStats` independently, causing React to schedule a separate reconciliation pass per container per second. Replaced with a ref-buffer + 1.5 s flush interval pattern: incoming stats are written to `pendingStatsRef` (no re-render cost), snapshotted and cleared before a single batched `setContainerStats` call every 1.5 s. A separate `rawBytesRef` (never cleared) tracks raw rx/tx bytes for accurate rate calculation, avoiding the stale-closure bug that would have produced 0 B/s net I/O after every flush cycle. Buffer is also cleared on cleanup so stale entries from the previous stack don't flash in on stack switch.
- **Fixed:** Browser Out of Memory crash in `GlobalObservabilityView` (Logs view) - the component rendered all log entries (up to 1,859+) as real DOM nodes with no virtualization, causing ~9,600 DOM nodes and ~25 MB of GC pressure every 5-second poll cycle. On RAM-constrained hosts (host system was at 97% usage) the browser renderer process OOMed within minutes. Fixed by capping DOM rendering to the last 300 entries (`MAX_DISPLAY_ROWS`), reducing the in-memory SSE log cap from 10,000 to 2,000 entries (`MAX_LOG_ENTRIES`), switching auto-scroll from `behavior: 'smooth'` (stacked layout animations) to `behavior: 'instant'`, and reducing the backend polling response limit from 2,000 to 500 lines. Also replaced `key={idx}` (array index) with a monotonic `_id` counter stamped at ingestion time so the slice window shifting no longer forces O(n) DOM mutations per new log line - React now only reconciles the one entry that actually changed.
- **Fixed:** `HomeDashboard` create-stack error handling - HTTP error responses were thrown as hardcoded strings, discarding the server's actual error message (e.g. "Stack already exists", "Invalid stack name"). Now reads the JSON error body before throwing, and uses the defensive `error?.message || error?.error || fallback` toast pattern.
- **Fixed:** LogViewer (container SSE log stream) returning 404 on remote nodes - the `?nodeId=` query param was forwarded by `remoteNodeProxy` to the remote server, where `nodeContextMiddleware` rejected it with `Node X not found` because the gateway's node IDs don't exist on the remote instance. Fixed by stripping `nodeId` from `proxyReq.path` in `onProxyReq`, mirroring the existing `x-node-id` header removal.
- **Fixed:** Terminal logs and container stats WebSockets failing with "HTTP Authentication failed" on remote nodes - the WebSocket upgrade proxy was forwarding the browser's `cookie` header to the remote Sencho instance. The remote's `authMiddleware` picks `cookieToken` before `bearerToken`, and the cookie (signed with the local JWT secret) fails verification on the remote, returning 401.
