* feat: add developer-mode startup and stack hydration timing
Instrument boot-to-list and detail hydration with commit-aligned milestones, truthful request stages, and destination/gateway debug duration logs so performance work is guided by measurements.
* fix: redact stack names and complete hydration request stages
Stop logging stack identifiers in containers debug timing, and record state_dispatch (plus detail fetch spans) so copied reports match the advertised stage breakdown.
* feat: add routable browser URLs for stacks and shell views
Sync in-memory navigation to the address bar via a History API hook so
deep links, refresh, Back/Forward, and bookmarks work across nodes,
views, stack editor tabs, and mobile surfaces. Gate role/tier URL
normalization on permissions and license readiness, preserve URLs on
metadata fetch failure, and surface retryable stack-list errors without
rewriting pending stack paths.
* fix: preserve deep-link views on cold load and refresh
Stop the node-switch effect from resetting to dashboard on initial mount.
Defer URL writer settlement until hydrated activeView matches the route.
Adds E2E coverage for shell cold loads, stack refresh, and compose env tab.
* fix: keep mobile dashboard on list surface so sidebar renders
On mobile, the URL sync hook was routing /nodes/<slug>/dashboard to the
content surface, hiding the stack list sidebar. This prevented the
data-stacks-loaded sentinel from appearing, causing sidebar truncation
E2E tests to time out after reload on a mobile viewport.
Mobile dashboard now stays on the list surface; other non-editor views
still render on the content surface.
* fix: complete mobile URL routing follow-ups for stack deep links
Restore mobile /dashboard vs /stacks, list surface always writes /stacks.
Hydrate pendingDetailStack, freeze compose failures with routeDetailError,
and add unit plus E2E coverage.
* fix: hydrate shell views from URL and sync in-app navigation
Bootstrap activeView and tab state from the pathname on cold load.
Settle route phase when state already matches, normalize unknown segments,
and open Monaco editor tabs from stack deep links via applyEditorRouteState.
* fix: prevent mobile stack deep links from hanging on cold load
The resolvePendingStack effect did not re-fire when the pending stack ref
was populated during URL hydration, because the urlHydratingStack state
set in the same callback was not listed in the effect's dependency array.
Adding it causes the effect to retry once hydration has committed.
A resolvingRef mutex prevents concurrent invocations. When the target file
is already loaded, route state is applied directly without calling
loadFileForRoute, which avoids unmounting the editor (and hiding the
recovery chip) if a background refresh triggers route resolution during
a deploy operation.
* test: adapt stack, deploy, and sidebar e2e specs to routable stack URLs
* ci: raise E2E Playwright job timeout to 20 minutes
* feat(pricing): collapse to two tiers (Community + Admiral)
Collapse Sencho's pricing from three tiers (Community / Skipper / Admiral)
to two: a generous free Community tier and a single paid Admiral tier. The
Skipper tier is removed.
Now free in Community: auto-heal, auto-update, scheduled operations,
webhooks, notification routing, Fleet Actions and bulk operations, SSO
preset providers (Google / GitHub / Okta), unlimited users with admin and
viewer roles, and deploy safety (atomic deploys, auto-rollback, and
one-click rollback).
Admiral (paid) is focused on running and governing a fleet: blueprints,
Fleet Secrets, deploy enforcement, vulnerability report export, audit log,
host console, private registries, mesh networking, node cordon, managed
cloud backup, LDAP / Active Directory SSO, and the advanced RBAC roles
(deployer, node-admin, auditor) with per-resource scoped assignments.
Internally the license variant distinction is removed so tier is binary
(community / paid). License validation still verifies the Lemon Squeezy
store and product before granting paid status.
Docs and the contributor guide are updated to the two-tier model.
* docs(pricing): correct licensing page to two-tier pricing and tidy stale tier wording
The licensing docs page kept the old Admiral pricing plus a Founder
Lifetime column and an Enterprise paragraph after the two-tier collapse.
Update it to $12/month or $99/year, drop the lifetime and Enterprise
content, and link to the pricing page for current pricing.
Also fix stale "Skipper" wording in CLA.md, SUPPORT.md, one test title,
and three test comments. Historical CHANGELOG entries and the
retired-Skipper license-guard test are intentionally left as-is.
* docs: align licensing and SSO pages with the two-tier model
Correct the SSO overview so the Google, GitHub, and Okta presets read as
available on every tier, matching the provider table; only LDAP and Active
Directory require Sencho Admiral. Remove the lifetime-plan references from the
licensing, settings, and troubleshooting pages so they reflect subscription-only
Admiral pricing.
* fix(rbac): omit scoped permissions from /me on the Community tier
Scoped role assignments only take effect on the paid tier, but GET /api/permissions/me returned them unconditionally, so a downgraded instance with leftover assignments rendered per-resource affordances the API then rejected with 403. The endpoint now mirrors the permission middleware and includes scoped permissions only on the paid tier. Adds a regression test covering the downgrade case.
* docs: use custom-pricing wording on the contact page
The two-tier model has no Enterprise tier; reword the contact page's enterprise pricing/deals to custom pricing/deals so it does not imply a tier that no longer exists.
* perf(frontend): parallelize auth bootstrap fetches
AuthContext.checkAuth previously chained three sequential fetches:
/api/auth/status, then /api/auth/check, then /api/permissions/me.
The status check has to come first because its response decides
whether to early-return on the setup or mfa-pending path. The next
two are independent for an authenticated session and were costing
an extra round-trip on every cold load.
Run /api/auth/check and /api/permissions/me in parallel via
Promise.all. The permissions request is wasted on the rare
not-authenticated path (cookie expired or logged out) but that
trade-off is worth saving the round-trip on the common success
path. The .catch(() => null) on the permissions fetch and the
inner try/catch around .json() preserve the original fault
tolerance: a network failure or malformed body falls back to no
permissions data, with the global role still authoritative.
* fix(frontend): commit auth state without waiting on /permissions/me
The previous Promise.all awaited both fetches before calling
setAppStatus('authenticated'), so a slow /api/permissions/me would
delay the dashboard commit relative to the old serial code. The E2E
deploy-feedback tests at e2e/deploy-log-panel.spec.ts:168 and :236
race the dashboard render after page.reload() and were timing out
waiting for GET /api/stacks/<name> because the click target was not
yet wired when the slower permissions response held up state.
Keep both requests in parallel on the wire, but await only the auth
check before committing state. The permissions promise resolves in
the background and updates state via void permsPromise.then() so the
non-critical request never gates the bootstrap.
* feat(auth): add TOTP two-factor authentication with backup codes
Adds RFC 6238 time-based one-time password support to every tier,
integrated with the existing password and SSO login paths.
Backend:
- New MfaService wrapping otplib with a plus or minus 1 step tolerance,
base32 secret generation, and hashed single-use backup codes (bcrypt).
- user_mfa and mfa_used_tokens tables in DatabaseService. The second
table is a DB-backed replay blacklist, purged on a 60s interval.
- authMiddleware now recognizes an mfa_pending scope. A token carrying
that scope is rejected on every route except the MFA challenge and
logout, so no API surface is reachable before the second factor
clears.
- /api/auth/login issues only a short-lived mfa_pending cookie when the
user has MFA enrolled. /api/auth/login/mfa consumes that cookie,
verifies the code (or backup code), and swaps in a real session.
- /api/auth/mfa/* routes for status, enrol/start, enrol/confirm,
disable, backup-code regenerate, and SSO-bypass opt-in.
- Admin recovery path: POST /api/users/:id/mfa/reset clears the target's
MFA state, bumps token_version, and writes an audit log entry.
- CLI emergency fallback: backend/src/cli/resetMfa.ts is wired via
`npm run reset-mfa <username>` and also exported for tests.
- SSO flows (LDAP and OIDC) gate on user_mfa.sso_enforce_mfa before
issuing a session; default behaviour keeps the SSO path frictionless.
- Per-user lockout after 5 consecutive failed codes (15 min).
Frontend:
- AppStatus gains an mfa-challenge branch driven by /api/auth/status.
- New MfaChallenge screen, MfaEnrollDialog (QR plus manual secret plus
backup codes), MfaDisableDialog, MfaBackupCodesDialog.
- Account section shows a Two-factor authentication card with enrol,
regenerate, disable, and the SSO-enforce toggle (shown only when SSO
providers are configured).
- Users section gains a Reset 2FA action for admins.
Docs:
- New user guide at features/two-factor-authentication.mdx.
- New admin guide at operations/two-factor-admin.mdx.
- SSO page cross-links to the 2FA doc.
* fix(mfa): drop unused TEST_PASSWORD import and stale eslint disable
* fix(mfa): simplify e2e openAccountSettings helper to match working pattern
* fix(mfa): make e2e suite self-contained and always clean up
Test #2 called loginAs() before the MFA challenge step, which waited for
the dashboard indicator that never appears once the previous test enrolled
the user. That timeout skipped the rest of the serial block, including
the disable step, leaving MFA enabled and breaking every later spec.
Two fixes:
- Tests #2 and #3 now navigate directly to the login page instead of
piggybacking on loginAs, which only handles the password-only path.
- A new afterAll hook unconditionally disables MFA via the API using two
unused backup codes, so the DB is reset even if a test fails midway.
* fix(e2e): use backup code for mfa recovery to avoid totp replay race
The final recovery step in the backup-code replay test previously
generated a fresh TOTP to sign back in. When the timing landed inside
the same 30-second window that test #2 consumed, the server's replay
blacklist correctly rejected it, producing a ~50% flake rate. Backup
codes are single-use and sidestep the replay window, so the recovery
becomes deterministic.
* fix(e2e): drive mfa disable test through the challenge screen
Test #4 called loginAs after test #3 left MFA enabled, but loginAs
waits for the dashboard indicator and does not handle the challenge
screen, so it timed out. Drive the login manually, satisfy the
challenge with a backup code, and use a backup code for the disable
step too to avoid any TOTP replay-window race against earlier tests
in the serial block.
- Configurable retention: audit_retention_days setting (1-365 days, default 90)
replaces hardcoded 90-day retention, exposed in Settings > Data Retention
- Export: one-click CSV/JSON export of filtered audit data via new
GET /api/audit-log/export endpoint (capped at 10,000 entries)
- Auditor role: read-only role with system:audit permission for viewing
and exporting audit logs without admin privileges (Admiral tier)
- Enhanced filtering: full-text search across summaries/paths/usernames,
date range picker, and expandable row details showing request path,
IP address, node ID, and entry ID
* feat(rbac): add Deployer & Node Admin roles with scoped permissions (Team Pro)
Add intermediate RBAC roles gated to Team Pro tier:
- Deployer: can deploy/restart/stop/start stacks but cannot edit compose files, delete stacks, or access system settings
- Node Admin: full stack and node management within scope, no system settings access
- Scoped permissions: assign roles per-stack or per-node for fine-grained access control
- Permission engine with checkPermission/requirePermission guards replacing requireAdmin on stack/node routes
- Frontend can() function with /api/permissions/me endpoint for client-side permission checks
- User management UI updated with 4-role selector and scoped permission editor
- Documentation updated with permission matrix, scoped permission docs, and screenshots
* fix(rbac): remove unused RoleAssignment import to fix lint error
* feat: SSO & LDAP authentication for Team Pro
Add SSO integration allowing Team Pro users to authenticate via LDAP/Active Directory, Google, GitHub, and Okta identity providers. SSO works alongside password authentication with auto-provisioning and role mapping.
- LDAP bind+search authentication with group-based role mapping
- OIDC/OAuth2 flows with PKCE and CSRF protection for Google, GitHub, Okta
- Auto-provisioning: first SSO login creates a Sencho account automatically
- Role mapping via LDAP group membership or OIDC JWT claims
- SSO settings UI in Settings → SSO with per-provider config and test connection
- SSO login buttons on login page with LDAP toggle
- Environment variable seeding for infrastructure-as-code workflows
- Secrets encrypted at rest via CryptoService (AES-256-GCM)
- Seat limit enforcement during auto-provisioning
- Full documentation: feature docs, quickstart guides, env var reference
* fix: resolve ESLint errors in SSO feature
- Remove unnecessary escape characters in regex character classes
- Remove unused `issuer` variable from OIDC callback handler
- Fix setState-in-effect lint error in Login.tsx by using useState initializer
- Suppress set-state-in-effect for SSOSection fetch pattern (matches existing codebase convention)
* feat: add RBAC viewer accounts, atomic deployments, and fleet-wide backups (Pro)
Introduces three Pro-tier features:
- RBAC: Multi-user system with admin/viewer roles, user management UI,
automatic migration from single-admin credentials, viewer restrictions
across the entire UI (read-only editor, hidden action buttons)
- Atomic Deployments: Pre-deploy file backup to .sencho-backup/, automatic
rollback on health probe failure, manual rollback button, health probes
added to stack updates, webhook-triggered deploys use atomic rollback
- Fleet-Wide Backups: Point-in-time snapshots of compose files across all
nodes (local + remote), stored centrally in SQLite, per-stack restore
with optional redeploy, graceful handling of offline nodes
* fix(settings): use correct ProGate prop name in UsersSection
* fix(settings): remove unused isPro prop from UsersSection
* fix(auth): fetch user info after login and setup so isAdmin is set correctly
- Replace catch (error: any) with catch (error) + (error as Error).message cast

- Fix DockerNetworkStats cast in EditorLayout container stats WebSocket handler
- Remove unused catch variable (e) in api.ts and other components
- Cast streamFilter onValueChange val to union type in GlobalObservabilityView
- Add eslint-disable-next-line react-refresh/only-export-components to badge.tsx,
button.tsx, AuthContext, NodeContext, use-data-state, use-is-in-view
- Add eslint-disable-next-line react-hooks/set-state-in-effect in LogViewer
- Add /* eslint-disable */ to animate-ui third-party primitive files
