- In mixed-version fleets, chmod runs on the target node's own Sencho instance. An updated hub proxying an older remote still returns 409 `PROTECTED_FILE` on that remote until it is updated.
- Windows stat reports `0o666` for `0o600` (Node distinguishes writable vs read-only, not modes); Linux/Docker QA is authoritative.
