* fix(ecstore): handle metadata-less bucket residue
Diagnose metadata-less on-disk residue before non-force DeleteBucket reaches physical deletion, and keep scanner-discovered metadata-missing objects on a non-destructive heal path.
Add explicit heal --remove cleanup for unversioned metadata-less data directories, using the existing data-dir delete primitive and fail-closed shape checks so pre-commit or unknown residue is preserved.

Wrap the filesystem summary validator in a closure so Option::is_some_and can pass the concrete array reference accepted by serde_json::Value::as_array.

* fix(ecstore): fence pool metadata replica updates

* fix(ecstore): latch pool metadata writes before await
* fix(ecstore): persist unresolved decommission entries

* fix(ecstore): allow intentional decommission listing signatures under strict clippy
The sftp/swift feature-matrix clippy gates run with -D warnings and
flag the unresolved-entry resolver (large Err payload by design, 8
context parameters) and the decommission listing driver (9 args).
Document why and align with the existing decommission_entry precedent.
A single object's SourceChanged during decommission cleanup no longer
cancels the shared worker token and fails the whole pool operation.
Cleanup preflight and source-cleanup outcomes now retry per entry with
bounded attempts and cancellation-aware backoff, applied uniformly to
ordinary versions, delete markers, and tiered copies (removing the
try-once-only branches); every retry re-lists the entry and redoes
version multiset validation before touching the source. Only quorum
loss, unrecoverable system errors, or exceeding a pool-level
SourceChanged exhaustion threshold still fails the decommission, and
exhausted entries never delete their source versions.
Retry attempts, backoff, and deferred/exhausted reasons are logged per
entry for observability. Heavy regression tests spawn on dedicated
32MiB stacks following the existing store-test pattern.

The peer reload_pool_meta handler blindly replaced in-memory pool
metadata with the persisted snapshot, so a delayed or out-of-order
reload could roll back newer local queued/canceled/failed/complete
decommission state, and a missing pool.bin wiped local state to an
empty default.
Route peer reload through the same monotonic merge used by the admin
status refresh (merge_pool_status_refresh): entries are replaced only
when strictly newer and no local worker is active; missing snapshots
fail closed. The helper now reports whether any entry was replaced or
appended, and rejected stale/missing reloads are logged. The RPC
handler spawns missing decommission workers only after a reload
actually merged newer state, so duplicate deliveries cannot start
workers for an older generation.

* refactor(scanner): split remote_scanner.rs into stream child module (#6289)
Split the 3080-line remote_scanner.rs (47% inline tests) into a
canonical foo.rs + foo/ module tree with zero behavior change:
- remote_scanner.rs (~320): protocol constants, process statics, and
the request decode/validate/admit/preflight/claim API plus root
re-exports
- remote_scanner/stream.rs (~1340): wire/frame types, replay cache,
FrameAuthenticator, serve path, local bucket scan + persist, client
scan, and the bounded stream plumbing
- remote_scanner/stream/tests.rs (~1470): the inline test module as a
child module of stream so it can reach both parents' private items
All crate paths are unchanged: lib.rs re-exports
(serve_remote_scanner_request, RemoteScannerRequest, ...) resolve
through root re-exports, and scanner_io's crate::remote_scanner::
{scan_remote_bucket, RemoteScannerScanSpec, RemoteScannerOutcome}
paths resolve through pub(crate) re-exports. Cross-module items gain
pub(super), whose scope equals the old single-module privacy domain;
no item's effective visibility widens. Code is moved verbatim apart
from those markers, per-module import headers, and rustfmt line
re-wraps.

* refactor(heal): split resume.rs into focused child modules (#6290)
Split the 4242-line resume.rs (46% inline tests) into a canonical
foo.rs + foo/ module tree with zero behavior change:
- resume.rs (~1020): state file constants, PersistThrottle, ResumeState,
ResumeManager core (constructors, load/discovery, progress mutators,
ordinary persistence) plus root re-exports
- resume/replacement.rs (~690): replacement-intent/proof types and the
ResumeManager replacement-lifecycle methods
- resume/checkpoint.rs (~350): ResumeCheckpoint + CheckpointManager
- resume/utils.rs (~310): ResumeUtils statics
- resume/tests.rs (~1980): the inline test module as a child module
All module paths are unchanged (heal::resume::CheckpointManager and
friends resolve through root re-exports), so no consumer inside or
outside the crate changes. Items defined in child modules keep
module-private visibility; only the ten cross-module helpers gain
pub(super), which is not part of the crate API. Code is moved verbatim
apart from those visibility markers, four super::storage_api path
fixes, and the new per-module import headers.

* refactor(scanner): split scanner_io.rs into child modules (#6294)
Split the 5369-line scanner_io.rs (39% inline tests) into a canonical
scanner_io.rs + scanner_io/ module tree with zero behavior change:
- scanner_io.rs (~660): constants, metadata-error constructors, the
bucket scan plan, cycle-status classification helpers, the ScannerIO /
ScannerIOCache / ScannerIODisk traits, and ScannerCycleResult
- scanner_io/dirty_usage.rs (~300): process-wide dirty-usage statics
and the acknowledgment protocol
- scanner_io/guards.rs (~270): concurrency gauges and RAII guards
- scanner_io/cache.rs (~410): scanner cache locks and the snapshot
persist/publish path
- scanner_io/io_cycle.rs (~390), io_cache.rs (~1160), io_disk.rs
(~230): the ECStore / SetDisks / Disk trait implementations
- scanner_io/publish_gate_tests.rs (~750) and tests.rs (~1340): the two
inline test modules as child modules
All crate paths are unchanged: the lib.rs scanner_io re-exports and
every crate::scanner_io:: consumer (scanner.rs, remote_scanner,
scanner_folder, and cross-crate rustfs users) resolve through root
re-exports with their original visibilities (pub stays pub, pub(crate)
stays pub(crate)). Cross-module items gain pub(super), whose scope
equals the old single-module privacy domain. Code is moved verbatim
apart from those markers, per-module import headers, and rustfmt
re-wraps.
The logging-guardrail nsscanner_disk skip-set_disks rule now points at
scanner_io/io_disk.rs where the function moved; the pattern and
thresholds are unchanged.

* refactor(scanner): split data_usage_define persistence and tests (#6292)
Split the 3655-line data_usage_define.rs (59% inline tests) into a
canonical foo.rs + foo/ module tree with zero behavior change:
- data_usage_define.rs (~950): cache constants and revision helpers,
the data-usage tree types, DataUsageCacheInfo with its hand-written
Serialize, the in-memory tree operations, dui, and marshal/unmarshal
- data_usage_define/persistence.rs (~580): the load/backup/restore
ladder (load, try_load_inner, revision_for_path) and the CAS save
path with its retry policy and save metrics
- data_usage_define/tests.rs (~2155): the inline test module as a child
module
All module paths are unchanged (the lib.rs data_usage_define::* glob
re-export and every crate::data_usage_define:: consumer resolve as
before). The hand-written map-encoded Serialize for
DataUsageCacheInfo is moved byte-for-byte per the AGENTS.md
cross-cutting invariant; on-disk names and the cache key format const
stay in the root. Four persistence helpers used by tests gain
pub(super), whose scope equals the old single-module privacy domain.
Code is moved verbatim apart from those markers, per-module import
headers, and rustfmt re-wraps.

feat(scanner): expose prefix-level bucket usage via admin API
The scanner's per-bucket, per-set usage caches already hold a path-keyed
prefix tree, but dui() flattened it only to bucket names — consoles and
operators had no way to ask "what does this prefix hold" without an S3
listing sweep (rustfs/backlog#1872, MinIO loadPrefixUsageFromBackend
parity).
Add:
- data-usage: prefix_usage_in_cache — a shared aggregation over the
entry map (arbitrary prefix, full counters, one-level sub-prefix
breakdown with names recovered from the literal-path cache keys),
hardened like the scanner's checked flatten: cycles, dangling child
links, over-deep trees, and overflowing counters yield None rather
than unbounded recursion or wrapped totals.
- ecstore: ECStore::all_set_disks — iterate every erasure set so a
query can read each set's own cache copy; the hash-routed store path
would always land on one set.
- scanner: bucket_prefix_usage — per-set loads (5s budget each, a slow
set degrades to not-reporting instead of stalling the caller),
merged across sets with partial/compacted/truncated flags, served
from a bounded 30s cache (128 entries, hard-capped) that bucket
writes invalidate through the dirty-usage hook.
- admin: GET /rustfs/admin/v3/usage/{bucket}?prefix=&max-entries=
behind the same any-of gate as datausageinfo (DataUsageInfoAdminAction
OR ListBucketAction), rejecting unknown query parameters and
clamping max-entries to 1..=10000. Route registered in the policy
table (deferred MultipleActions, matching datausageinfo) and the
route matrix test.

* chore(ecstore): remove the pool-level ListObjects pagination copy
The ListObjects pagination pipeline existed in three near-copies in one file; production listing never reaches the Sets copy, which ECStore bypasses by expanding straight to per-set disks. This removes it: impl ListOperations for Sets (61 lines of pure forwarding in core/sets.rs) and the impl Sets pagination block (826 lines of inner_list_objects_v2 / list_objects_generic / inner_list_object_versions / list_path / list_merged / walk_internal in store/list_objects.rs).
Two preconditions verified before deleting rather than taken on faith: the architecture guard pins only set_disks_implements_storage_list_operations_contract, so nothing requires the Sets trait impl; and the four Sets pagination methods had no cross-file caller besides that trait impl.
The single test consumer moves to the surviving pipeline instead of being deleted: writes still go through the pool, and the listing assertion now targets the set-level implementation. It is renamed accordingly so the name still describes what it covers.
The logging guardrail's TRACE-only requirement for Sets::list_objects_v2 retires in the same diff — the wrapper it pinned no longer exists. The ECStore and SetDisks entries are untouched.
The SetDisks copy stays for now: its trait impl is guard-pinned, so replacing the duplicate pipeline behind it needs the generic helper the issue schedules for post-1.0.
Verification: cargo nextest run -p rustfs-ecstore 4020 passed; check_architecture_migration_rules.sh and check_logging_guardrails.sh pass; clippy --lib --tests -D warnings clean; make pre-commit green.
Ref rustfs/backlog#1821 (PR1).
* chore(ecstore): fold the ListObjects forwarders into the ECStore impl
store/list.rs held two thin forwarders, handle_list_objects_v2 and handle_list_object_versions, that only re-entered the inner_* implementations. The ListOperations impl now calls those directly and the file goes away.
The logging guardrail's trace_hot_spans list pinned handle_list_objects_v2 as TRACE-only; that entry is retired in the same diff, adjacent to the sets.rs entry retired by the preceding commit.
Ref rustfs/backlog#1821.
* chore(ecstore): drop the type aliases orphaned by the pagination removal
core/sets.rs declared four local type aliases — ListObjectsV2Info, ListObjectVersionsInfo, ObjectInfoOrErr and WalkOptions — used only by the pool-level pagination pipeline removed earlier in this branch. store/list_objects.rs keeps its own live copies of the same aliases.
They only surface now that #6087 removed the core module's dead_code blanket: on that older base each PR was warning-free on its own, and the combination is what exposes them. Their storage_api_contracts imports go with them.
Ref rustfs/backlog#1823, rustfs/backlog#1821.
* fix(ecstore): preserve Sets listing compatibility
Deletes three blocks of commented-out code that can never be revived: seven dead tokio::tests plus ~20 commented use statements at the tail of ecstore's store/list_objects.rs test module (all hardcoded to a developer's personal machine path), the commented test_extract_claims in policy/utils.rs, and the commented-out pre-strum AdminAction enum draft in policy/action.rs (the live enum below it is untouched).
Also rewords two doc comments on the bucket-metadata inline-data interop test to drop the personal attribution while keeping the technical content, so the corpse check (rg weisd) now returns zero across the repo.
Ref rustfs/backlog#1836 (PR2).
* perf(ecstore): memoize bucket-incarnation fence validation under lifecycle read-lock coverage
The PUT commit fence from #5648 validated the bucket incarnation with an uncached read (a distributed metadata-transaction read lock plus an EC quorum read of bucket metadata) on every PUT commit. Under 64-concurrency 4KiB PUT load this adds two quorum round-trips per PUT and the resulting lock-manager pressure produced ~1,000 client-visible 'Lock acquisition timeout' failures per 5-minute window (see rustfs/backlog#1776).
Memoize the validation per node while lifecycle read-lock coverage is continuous: bucket deletion/recreation requires the lifecycle WRITE lock, so while at least one read guard on this node has been held continuously the incarnation cannot have changed. The first fenced PUT in a coverage window performs the exact authoritative disk validation as before; overlapping PUTs reuse its result. The memo clears when the node's last guard drops or any guard observes a lost lock, so the next PUT revalidates from disk. Fence semantics are unchanged; only the redundant re-validations under continuous coverage are elided.
Also right-size the s3s footprint ratchet baselines: -1 s3_error! line from this change's error-path consolidation, and +1 s3s-importing file inherited from #5763 (crates/obs/src/telemetry/filter.rs) which landed on main without the baseline bump.
* fix(ecstore): carry the bucket fence registry through the rebalance test store
The rebalance entry test constructor landed on main after this branch was cut and needs the new field.
