The RETURN-trap smoke fixture has a simulated manager and script binary, not a real managed Linux process. Provide its exact-service/new-version comparator and require exactly one success-path invocation, with none on prerelease refusal. Keep actual process-identity refusals in the independent source/native controls; do not relax production verification.
