Several Off toggles on the Thresholds page did nothing or did the opposite, because each layer read 0, -1 and "missing" differently: - PMG and Docker restart/memory-limit defaults: the toggle sends -1 and NormalizePMGDefaults/NormalizeDockerDefaults turned anything <= 0 back into the factory value, so Off reverted on save. The Docker restart-loop and memory-limit checks also had no Off at all. - Backup and snapshot critical age: the editor sanitizers and the save payload raised a 0 critical to the warning age, so turning critical off made backups go critical at the warning age. - A Docker container override saved for CPU alone carried DisableConnectivity=false and re-enabled that container's state alerts over a disabled Docker default. - Per-server PMG cells, PMG bulk edit and per-container restart and memory-limit cells wrote fields ThresholdConfig does not have, so the backend dropped them on save. 0 is now Off for these counts; negative values (the toggle's -1) are stored as 0. Keys an older alerts.json or an import omits decode as ThresholdCountUnset and take the factory value, so existing installs keep their alerts; persistence resolves the marker before writing. A PMG quarantine growth level with one half Off turns that level off instead of invalidating the spec and skipping the whole check. Docker container overrides re-enable state alerts only with their own severity, as applyThresholdOverride does elsewhere. The frontend keeps a 0 critical age Off, the group header says "Restart loop off", and rows only offer metrics an override can store. AI Patrol's threshold adapter still maps an Off alert threshold to its factory value; that is a Patrol product decision and is left as is.

- Install Pulse — signed Proxmox/Linux installation, Docker, Docker Compose, Kubernetes, and first-run setup.
- Production deployment and security — least-privilege Proxmox setup, root-agent boundaries, discovery, supply-chain verification, plan limits, scale evidence, and a rollout checklist.
- Upgrade from Pulse v5 — migration prerequisites, rollback, agent continuity, and post-upgrade checks.
- Releases and update channels: choosing Stable or Preview, beta and RC expectations, and how releases are tested and promoted.

- Docker and Podman
- Kubernetes and Helm
- TrueNAS SCALE and CORE
- Unified Agent
- Agent security
- VM disk monitoring
- ZFS monitoring

VMware vSphere support is early access. Current builds expose dedicated vSphere inventory and recovery context, but operators should validate the integration against their own vCenter before production use.
Monitoring and operations

Pulse Intelligence

- Patrol modes and safety
- Assistant safety model
- External agent HTTP and MCP substrate
Patrol watch-only analysis is available on Community with a local model or the operator's own provider. Investigation and governed fixes require the relevant Pulse Pro capabilities.
Security, privacy, and access
- Production deployment and security
- Security review scope
- Authentication and credential storage review packet
- Security guide
- Privacy and telemetry disclosure
- OIDC and SSO
- Proxy authentication
- Role-based access control (Pro)
- Audit logging (Pro)

Plans and managed access
- Community, Relay, and Pro capabilities
- Relay and Pulse Mobile handoff
- Multi-tenant organizations (Enterprise/custom)
- Provider-hosted MSP operations (request-assisted)
Pulse Cloud is not generally available. Ordinary self-hosted Pulse remains the primary installation path; MSP and Enterprise access are explicit commercial paths rather than defaults in self-hosted setup.
Development and reference
Detailed design notes and dated migration specifications may remain in this directory for maintainers, but they are not operator setup guides unless they are linked from the sections above.
Previous versions and migrations
- Upgrade from v4 to v5
- Retired unified-navigation migration — historical context only; current Pulse uses platform-shaped navigation.
- Move a Pulse installation
