Only a structured HTTP 409 conflict with terminal readback establishes the completion race. Do not read through or hide authentication, permission, transport or other cancellation failures, and stop before the next cancellation. Cover completed-run refusals, unknown errors, nonterminal conflicts and failed readback without provider calls.
