The connected origin test uses real session and CSRF middleware. Initialise and clean up its temporary stores rather than depend on unrelated test order.
Contract-Neutral: Test fixture setup only; runtime behaviour and subsystem contracts are unchanged.

Treat explicit empty origins as a durable same-origin policy, preserve omitted fields and deployment overrides, and expose the effective value. Resolve webhook masks consistently across Create, Update and Test; reject unresolved or ambiguous identities before mutation or delivery while retaining masked responses, per-key edits, clears and encrypted persistence. Include real middleware/reload and HTTP Test/edit/delivery controls with all affected and shared dependent contracts.

Adapt PR2351 to current main without losing bounded probe deadlines, retries, explicit binds or confidentiality. Inspect IPv6 wildcard socket mode so unrelated servers sharing the port cannot determine Pulse health. Apply the telemetry callback only after a persisted explicit boolean transition, including stale-disk and null-input boundaries.
Retain real HTTP/HTTPS wildcard and same-port isolation regressions, callback persistence-order tests, and the owning subsystem contracts. No dependency manifests, frontend source or telemetry payload schema change. Exact runtime proof remains dependent on the unavailable root graph; it is not represented as passed.

Non-admin sessions cannot read GET /api/system/settings, so the Settings
General Monitoring Cadence card fell back to the Realtime (10s) preset
regardless of the configured interval; an issue #1601 reporter read that
as the server polling faster for non-admins. Publish the effective
pvePollingInterval on the authenticated runtime-display projection
(runtime config first, persisted value only as fallback, matching the
admin route's precedence), consume it in the viewer fallback of the
settings state, and run that initialization for sessions without
infrastructureRead too, whose ungated General panel previously never
initialized presentation state at all.
The reset added in b45bd66b9 only fired when the temperature SSH key
file on disk changed (mtime/size). An operator who repairs SSH access
any other way — fixing authorized_keys on the host, repairing
known_hosts, restoring network reachability — still waited out a
backoff window that may have compounded toward fifteen minutes.
A system-settings save is the natural operator touchpoint after such a
repair, so the settings handler now fans ResetSSHFailureBackoff out to
every live tenant monitor after a successful save, clearing the
per-host temperature SSH backoff and the knownhosts keyscan backoff.
The reset touches in-memory retry timing only; nothing is persisted
and no request field controls it.

Found while triaging #1643 and #1637: both fields were stored via
system.json and accepted, validated, and echoed by the settings API,
but nothing ever consumed them. The unattended update schedule is owned
entirely by the systemd timer install.sh renders, and no UI control ever
set the fields, so the API persisted a schedule preference that could
never take effect.
Remove the fields from config.Config, SystemSettings, the settings
handlers, and the frontend config type, along with the interval
validation and the .env AUTO_UPDATE_CHECK_INTERVAL rewrite (a legacy
line is now preserved verbatim). Legacy clients that still send the
keys get them silently ignored instead of validated, and a system.json
written before the removal still loads cleanly - both behaviors are
pinned by new tests. User docs no longer describe the phantom schedule
settings.

golangci-lint run ./... failed on ~190 pre-existing errcheck violations and
5 unformatted files, burying any new regression in noise. Fix all of them:
- Test files that hand-rolled mock-mode set/restore (vmware, truenas, and
friends) now use the canonical setMockModeForTest/testutil.SetMockMode
helper instead of drift copies that ignored SetEnabled errors.
- internal/mock and internal/monitoring tests get package-local
mustSetEnabled/mustSetMockEnabled/mustSetMonitorMockMode helpers that
fail the test on toggle errors.
- pkg/auth/sqlite_manager.go, pkg/metrics/store.go, pkg/server/server.go:
rollbacks in defers use the explicit-discard idiom, migration renames and
rollup commits log failures, the hosted reaper goroutine logs an error
exit, shutdown mock-disable logs failures.
- Remaining test sites check errors with t.Fatalf/t.Errorf or explicitly
discard best-effort calls (restore-chmods, handler-closure unmarshals)
per existing repo style.
- gofmt: internal/api/maintenance_verification.go, internal/ai/demo.go and
three findings test files.
Only dupl findings remain (44 pre-existing production-code duplication
pairs) — those need real refactors, not mechanical fixes.
Full test suites pass for every touched package.
