This hardening cut includes action recovery, kiosk containment, alert and notification accounting, node-restricted Proxmox storage, container-runtime selection, and host CPU sampling fixes that landed after rc.3. Version pins move to 6.2.0-rc.4 across the repo root, Docker bootstrap defaults, and Helm metadata; stable install pointers remain on v6.1.2 until governed promotion.
Second candidate on the v6.2.0 line, superseding v6.2.0-rc.1 and still
following stable v6.1.2. This is a hardening and bugfix candidate:
auto-update reliability including in-place migration of already-deployed
update units, PBS backup attribution across multiple Proxmox clusters,
Proxmox installer registration including per-canonical-type bootstrap
grants on combined PVE+PBS hosts, Patrol readiness streaming transport
plus a completed-verdict readiness gate, discovery-policy DNS and SSH
retry churn, explicit per-metric threshold off toggles, request-derived
SSO callback URLs, and the new Entra ID SSO guide. Version pins move to
6.2.0-rc.2 across the repo root, Docker bootstrap defaults, and Helm
metadata per the deployment-installability contract; stable install
pointers remain on v6.1.2 until governed promotion.

First candidate on the v6.2.0 line, following stable v6.1.2. Carries
the External Probes Pro feature, the three-part multi-site Proxmox
identity isolation work, cloned machine-id collapse detection,
unattended-update service recovery, the TrueNAS same-host redirect
follow, and verified telemetry outcomes. Version pins move to
6.2.0-rc.1 across the repo root, Docker bootstrap defaults, and Helm
metadata per the deployment-installability contract; stable install
pointers remain on v6.1.2 until governed promotion.

docker-compose.yml and scripts/install-docker.sh both still pinned
rcourtman/pulse:6.0.0-rc.5. The TestDeploymentDefaultsPinVersionedImagesAndHelmDocsChecksum
/ TestRepoDockerComposeDefaultPinsCurrentVersion / TestInstallDockerScript*
tests in scripts/installtests/ read VERSION (now 6.0.0-rc.6) and
require these install entry points to match.
Scripts like install.sh and install-sensor-proxy.sh are now attached
as release assets and downloaded from releases/latest/download/ URLs.
This ensures users always get scripts compatible with their installed
version, even while development continues on main.
Changes:
- build-release.sh: copy install scripts to release directory
- create-release.yml: upload scripts as release assets
- Updated all documentation and code references to use release URLs
- Scripts reference each other via release URLs for consistency
Same turnkey UX issue as PVE quick setup: when local sensor-proxy socket
exists and validates, install-docker.sh would skip reinstallation (line 498).
This left stale control-plane tokens and URLs.
Fix: Always reinstall when LOCAL_PROXY_EXISTED_AT_START=true
- Track socket existence at script start
- Change message: 'will refresh to update tokens/config'
- Set SKIP_INSTALLATION=false to force reinstall
- Installer is idempotent (Phase 2), safe to rerun
This completes the turnkey repair fix across all entry points (PVE quick
setup and Docker installer).
Adds a one-command Docker deployment flow that:
- Detects if running in LXC and installs Docker if needed
- Automatically installs pulse-sensor-proxy on the Proxmox host
- Configures bind mount for proxy socket into LXC
- Generates optimized docker-compose.yml with proxy socket
- Enables temperature monitoring via host-side proxy
The install-docker.sh script handles the complete setup including:
- Docker installation (if needed)
- ACL configuration for container UIDs
- Bind mount setup
- Automatic apparmor=unconfined for socket access
