Discovering Docker inside Proxmox LXC guests previously required an
undocumented environment variable plus a hand-edited systemd unit,
which is how the surface kept shipping invisible. The opt-in is now a
persisted system setting with an admin-only toggle in Settings →
System → General, presented as its own "Docker in Proxmox LXCs" card
under the existing Docker/Podman updates card, with the requirements
(node agent with command execution) and data-collection bounds stated
inline.
The setting rides the admin-gated system settings endpoint
(RequireAdmin + settings:write, matching every other server-wide
toggle). Flipping it persists first, then applies to the runtime
config and fires a reconfigure hook so the router rebuilds the
monitor's Docker checker and inventory collector immediately — no
restart. PULSE_ENABLE_PROXMOX_GUEST_DOCKER_INVENTORY remains
authoritative: when set it locks the toggle (EnvironmentLockBadge in
the UI, HTTP 400 from the API), and an unrelated settings save can
never clobber the runtime value. The opt-in guardrail test now pins
the settings path, the env lock, and the persisted field.
Installer and node setup-guide callouts now point at the toggle first
with the environment variable as the locking override, and the docs,
their public mirrors, and the agent-lifecycle subsystem contract say
the same. New i18n strings shipped for en/de/es.
Verified live in mock mode: toggle off/on from the UI drives the
collector teardown/setup log lines, the value survives a server
restart, and all three touched surfaces render at desktop and mobile
widths (receipt in frontend-modern/browser-verification.json).
Agent install and update commands advertised http://<LAN-IP>:7655 on
installs where the operator browses Pulse over an https FQDN, because
boot-time detection pre-fills config.PublicURL with an IP guess and
resolvePublicURL treated that guess as configuration. Track
auto-detected values (boot probe or first-request capture) separately:
explicit config from the env var or the settings UI still wins, but an
auto-detected guess now yields to the origin of the admin request that
is asking, so copied commands match how the instance is actually
reached.
Also stop boot detection from clobbering a settings-persisted public
URL on restart, which silently reverted the operator's saved value
whenever PULSE_PUBLIC_URL was unset.

The reset added in b45bd66b9 only fired when the temperature SSH key
file on disk changed (mtime/size). An operator who repairs SSH access
any other way — fixing authorized_keys on the host, repairing
known_hosts, restoring network reachability — still waited out a
backoff window that may have compounded toward fifteen minutes.
A system-settings save is the natural operator touchpoint after such a
repair, so the settings handler now fans ResetSSHFailureBackoff out to
every live tenant monitor after a successful save, clearing the
per-host temperature SSH backoff and the knownhosts keyscan backoff.
The reset touches in-memory retry timing only; nothing is persisted
and no request field controls it.

Found while triaging #1643 and #1637: both fields were stored via
system.json and accepted, validated, and echoed by the settings API,
but nothing ever consumed them. The unattended update schedule is owned
entirely by the systemd timer install.sh renders, and no UI control ever
set the fields, so the API persisted a schedule preference that could
never take effect.
Remove the fields from config.Config, SystemSettings, the settings
handlers, and the frontend config type, along with the interval
validation and the .env AUTO_UPDATE_CHECK_INTERVAL rewrite (a legacy
line is now preserved verbatim). Legacy clients that still send the
keys get them silently ignored instead of validated, and a system.json
written before the removal still loads cleanly - both behaviors are
pinned by new tests. User docs no longer describe the phantom schedule
settings.

The live-setter fix for #1619 pushed backup and PMG cadences into
running monitors but left pbsPollingInterval out entirely: it was
neither applied to the handler's base config nor pushed to live
monitors, so a saved PBS interval still waited for an unrelated
restart. Add the matching override, setter and scheduler wiring, apply
the value to the base config, and fan it out from the settings handler
like the other cadence settings.

Saving backupPollingInterval, pmgPollingInterval or backupPollingEnabled
only mutated the API handler's base config. Monitors poll against a
detached DeepCopy of that config, and only pvePollingInterval set the
reload flag, so the saved values never reached shouldRunBackupPoll or
the PMG scheduler until an unrelated monitor reload happened.
Add mutex-guarded runtime overrides on Monitor with live setters, fan
them out to every tenant monitor from the settings handler (mirroring
forEachNotificationManager), and clear the per-instance last-poll
timestamps when lowering the backup interval or re-enabling backup
polling so the next cycle runs an immediate catch-up poll.

Two gaps found by exercising the MSP pilot path live on a throwaway
multi-tenant instance:
1. CheckAccess granted any authenticated principal access to the default
org, so a token bound to a client org could read the provider's own
default-org estate if it leaked from a client site. Org-bound tokens
now fall through to the explicit binding check for the default org;
authenticated users and legacy unbound tokens keep default-org access,
and binding "default" explicitly still grants it.
2. The webhook private-target allowlist (instance-wide system setting)
only ever reached the default org's notification manager on
startup/reload, and only the request-context org on settings update.
Tenant orgs' webhooks to private targets (per-client Gotify over VPN,
the canonical MSP alert route) failed SSRF validation with no org-side
remedy, and any allowlist died with a restart. Settings updates and
reloads now fan out to every live tenant manager via the new
MultiTenantMonitor.ForEachMonitor, and tenant monitors inherit the
persisted allowlist and public URL at creation.
Both fixes verified live: org-bound token vs default org returns 403;
client-org webhooks to a private target succeed after restart and for
orgs created after the allowlist was saved. MSP.md validation checklist
gains the default-org probe and the allowlist guidance; MULTI_TENANT.md
documents the binding semantics. Contracts updated for api-contracts,
security-privacy, and monitoring with adjacency notes for
agent-lifecycle, storage-recovery, and performance-and-scalability.
Remove local upgrade-metrics API registration, settings payload wiring, startup store migration, and backend conversion recorder hooks from the normal product runtime.
Delete the retired conversion/funnel and metering packages from compiled licensing code, and extend diagnostics boundary audits and governance contracts so maintainer commercial analytics cannot return through Settings or diagnostics.
Make direct CheckAuth failures return explicit auth-required responses while preserving route-specific auth errors through shared response capture.
Align API contract tests with uncapped self-hosted monitoring, route-local config import/export auth, and marketed entitlement upgrade reasons.
Normalize SystemSettingsMonitor interface assignments via reflect to
prevent typed-nil-in-interface (same class as #1324 fix). Also add
defer/recover to the background OIDC token refresh goroutine so a
panic there cannot take down the process.
SystemSettingsHandler.mtMonitor was an interface field. A nil
*MultiTenantMonitor stored in it became a non-nil interface
(Go typed-nil-in-interface), bypassing the nil guard in getMonitor()
and panicking on every settings save in single-tenant mode.
Change mtMonitor to concrete *monitoring.MultiTenantMonitor so nil
checks work correctly. Also resolve getMonitor() once per request
instead of repeated calls to eliminate a TOCTOU race.
Expose PublicURL from runtime config in the system settings API response
so the frontend displays the actual value instead of the placeholder when
the env var is set.
Add w-full to PVE, PBS, and PMG node tables so they expand to fill the
container in full-width mode.
Implements Phase 1-2 of multi-tenancy support using a directory-per-tenant
strategy that preserves existing file-based persistence.
Key changes:
- Add MultiTenantPersistence manager for org-scoped config routing
- Add TenantMiddleware for X-Pulse-Org-ID header extraction and context propagation

All handlers maintain backward compatibility via legacy field fallbacks
for single-tenant deployments using the "default" org.
Full-width mode now syncs to server like dark mode, ensuring the setting
persists across Proxmox helper script updates. Previously only used
localStorage which gets cleared on some update methods.
The DisableDockerUpdateActions setting was being saved to disk but not
updated in h.config, causing the UI toggle to appear to revert on page
refresh since the API returned the stale runtime value.

Implements PULSE_DISABLE_DOCKER_UPDATE_ACTIONS environment variable and
Settings UI toggle to hide Docker container update buttons while still
allowing update detection. This addresses requests for a 'read-only' mode
in production environments.

in email alerts because the auto-detection couldn't determine the
