mtlcl410 6fd49d6565 M1: a saved file keeps its creation date (#2658) (#3291)
* M1: a saved file keeps its creation date (#2658)

Every save writes a staging file and renames it over the target, so the
file's creation date became the save time. Before the rename the staging
file now takes the replaced file's creation date, where the system lets
a program set one (Windows and macOS, through std's FileTimesExt;
best effort). A new file keeps its own date.

* Staging: compile the creation-date step only where it applies; say so in write_atomically's doc

mtlcl410 f0576408ee M1: saving refuses to replace a read-only file (#2658)
Saves write a staging file and rename it over the target. On Unix the
rename ignores the target's permissions, so a read-only file was
overwritten without a word and came out writable. The shared atomic
writer now refuses a read-only target before staging anything, with an
error that points to Save As; the edits stay unsaved in the document.

oracola91 d0a3427184 fix(platform): a save keeps the permissions of the file it replaces
On Unix the staging file got the default mode for a new file (usually
0644) and was renamed over the original, so saving a private 0600 PDF
left it readable by other local users. The staging file is now created
owner-only and given the original's permissions before anything is
written. A new file still gets the usual mode. Desktop save, the CLI
and the automation tools all write through this function.

Fixes #1790.

mtlcl410 3f9cd3b87d M1: every PDF leaves the engine checked, and every writer uses one staging-file writer (#2166) (#2182)
New files from Combine, Extract, Split and Create, signed, timestamped and
LTV-embedded files and the OCR batch output reopen with their pages before
anyone writes them, as saves already did. The desktop app, the automation
tools (with or without --root) and the CLI's edit, combine, extract and
split write through pdfcraft_platform::staging::write_atomically, so a
failed write or --out naming the input never leaves a half-written file.
Special files such as /dev/stdout are still written as given.

Coy Geek 49217aec6c fix(theme): complete Linux System appearance tracking (#1017)
* fix(theme): complete Linux System appearance tracking

Follow up on #881 for #446 with the standard numeric appearance portal setting
and event-driven updates that wake idle windows. Keep manual modes independent,
cache their desktop updates without repainting, and cancel the worker on close.

Retain inherited native window appearance and populate both egui style branches
with the chosen palette. Preserve saved System, the Light default and unknown
source fallback, and avoid desktop session access in headless UI contexts.

* Desktop theme: keep the GNOME colour-scheme fallback XFCE needs

The portal tracker read only org.freedesktop.appearance, which XFCE's portal
doesn't answer (it proxies the GSettings schemas). It now also reads and
subscribes to org.gnome.desktop.interface color-scheme and uses it when the
freedesktop setting states no preference, as main's reader did. KDE answers
only the freedesktop one, which wins when it states a preference.

gyurix c933782039 Linux: "Use system setting" asks the desktop, not winit (#881)
winit reports no system theme on Linux — `ActiveEventLoop::system_theme` is
`None` there on every desktop — so `ThemePreference::System` never saw the
desktop's choice and silently fell back to whatever was on screen: PdfCraft
came up light on a dark desktop, and picking "Use system setting" after Dark
kept it dark. The default setting did not follow the system.

`pdfcraft-platform` now reads the XDG Desktop Portal's Settings interface off
the UI thread and the app follows the answer, including a change made while it
runs. The colour scheme is asked for under its GNOME schema name first, which
GNOME's and XFCE's portals both answer, then under the older freedesktop one,
which KDE answers. A desktop that answers neither leaves the user's own choice
alone, exactly as before.

jcl-bit 69fa2ea9f8 Platform: one save-staging helper for automation and the desktop app (#356)
Follow-up to #319, from review. create_staging, staging_suffixes and
STAGING_ATTEMPTS were copied in pdfcraft-automation and pdfcraft-ui-egui,
which are both L7 and can't depend on each other. They now live once in
the new pdfcraft-platform crate (L7, std only), which layers.rs already
reserved with both sideways edges.

A pure move: the body is unchanged apart from a StagingName parameter
that keeps each caller's existing file name (.{name}.{suffix}.pdfcraft-tmp
for automation, .{name}.pdfcraft-{suffix}.tmp for the desktop save). The
doc comment on staging_suffixes now says the suffix is SipHash keyed from
the OS random source: enough that a name can't be planted in advance, but
not a CSPRNG.

New tests in the platform crate pin both name forms, the 128-byte stem
cut, the 16-name limit and refusal when no suffix is left. The callers'
planted-file, link, folder and failed-rename tests stay where they are.
