# Desktop Dashboard (retired)

The old OS-style **Desktop Mode** / widget dashboard is **not loaded** by the current console layout. Scripts and docs for `?desktop=1` are historical only.

Use:

- **Classic** rail / flyout (default), or
- Optional [[UX 3.5|UX-3.5]] shell (`bd_ui_shell` cookie / shell switch in the UI)
