feat(backend, shared): Intune Enrollment Validation admits enrolled devices without pre-registration (D-282)
The certificate's Intune managedDevice id is looked up in the tenant's Intune. With the tenant switch ValidateIntuneDeviceBinding on, that lookup is the last accepting link of the validator chain: an enrolled device that is not being retired, wiped or deleted is admitted as ValidatorType.IntuneEnrollment. A 404 for a certificate younger than 60 minutes is NotFoundRecentEnrollment (503, never cached); a missing grant is 503 with 120 s. For devices another validator admitted, the lookup only observes: in the background, never admitting or rejecting, and only when the app token carries DeviceManagementManagedDevices.Read.All, so a tenant without the add-on costs no Graph call. Outcomes ride on the request row (CertDeviceBinding, role, serial match, owner and enrollment type). TenantConfiguration.HasAnyDeviceValidation() is the single gate precondition; the feature flags expose it as deviceValidationEnabled (replaces validateAutopilotDevice). The agent parses ValidatorType strictly: release the agent before this backend. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> |

fix(backend): platform counters no longer freeze under retention (D-254)
The landing-page counters stood still since D-198: the two-hourly recompute was their only writer and merged Max(live figure, stored figure), while retention prunes the live figure below the stored one - so new enrollments never showed up again. - Hot path increments the per-tenant counters only (CAS): enrollments at the fresh registration, successes at the one status seam every Succeeded writer passes (transitioned && Succeeded), events per ingest batch. No batch touches the global row. - The maintenance run floors the tenant counters at the live figures (one multi-field write per tenant), sums the tenant rows and adds the growth since the previous run to the platform row. The previous sums live in a baseline row written in one transaction with the platform row. A total is never derived from an absolute figure again: a shrinking source (retention, offboarding) costs the growth of one interval instead of freezing the counter. Without a baseline the sum is a lower bound only. - TotalTenants rolls up the tenant rows with enrollments, UniqueDeviceModels a persisted set of seen models. TotalUsers stays a high-water-mark (a persisted user set would outlive the user-activity retention). - The platform row is merged with its read ETag and never carries IssuesDetected: the former full-row upsert undid every increment that landed during the run. - Reads that feed the baseline are not fail-soft, and a floor that could not be written skips the rollup of that run - a swallowed zero would be added as growth a second time. Shared manifest and generated wire types: doc comment of PlatformStats only. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5.1 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

agent+backend: one telemetry wire class, 422 poison for rejected items, agent responses in the typed regime (D-200/D-201)
TelemetryItemKind moves to Shared; TelemetryItem.ToWire() maps onto TelemetryItemDto and the uploader serialises the DTO, so both ends share one wire class. The spool line keeps writing Kind by name (StringEnumConverter registered in TelemetryItemSerializer). IngestTelemetryFunction.PartitionBatch routes by exact kind name and collects every item it cannot route or parse; a non-empty rejection list answers the batch with 422 + TelemetryItemsRejectedResponse (poison, rejectedRowKeys, reason) before anything is persisted, logs a Warning and writes the new TelemetryItemsRejected ops event. The agent's existing poison protocol drops exactly the named RowKeys and re-uploads the rest; before this the ingest skipped the items, answered 200 and the agent cleared its spool. Contract tests from both sides: TelemetryWireContractTests (agent) freezes the real batch body under tests/fixtures/telemetry-wire/ and parses the pinned poison body; TelemetryWireFixtureTests (backend) dispatches every frozen body with zero rejections, requires an arm per kind and pins the poison body. Agent-facing responses implement IApiResponse and go through ResponseHelper, request types carry [WireContract]; plain ingest refusals use the error envelope, the register-session and upload-url refusals keep their DTO bodies (the agent reads ErrorCode/Message). Manifests and generated wire types regenerated (also picks up four types HEAD had left out of the manifest). Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5.1 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

backend: platform counters recomputed instead of incremented, RuleStats keyed per scope and day with CAS batches (audit F06, D-198/D-199)
PlatformStats(global, current) took a GET plus a full-row upsert without ETag
from every ingest batch: increments were lost under concurrency and a writer
clobbered fields another writer had just changed. RuleStats put every tenant's
daily rule traffic into one date partition (1,459 rows on 2026-09-04), the
writer issued four serial calls per evaluated rule without ETag, and the
reader was a cross-partition scan whose 10k cap dropped the newest dates.
- D-198: TotalEnrollments / SuccessfulEnrollments / TotalEventsProcessed have
no hot-path writer; the two-hourly recompute is the only source. Only
IssuesDetected still increments, through TableCasRetry (ETag + field-only
merge, AddEntity for a missing row, conflicts as StorageCasConflict). The
tenant counters share the helper.
- D-199: RuleStats PartitionKey "{scope}_{date}", RowKey ruleId.
RecordRuleStatsAsync merges a session's increments per rule, reads the
partition once and writes one transaction (UpdateReplace with ETag / Add),
retrying on 412/409. Readers are PartitionKey ranges per scope; aggregation
and the regression radar fan out over the registered tenants; the cleanup
deletes per scope. RuleStats joins the offboarding composite wipe.
- Legacy rows (PartitionKey = date) are read by an extra query and cleaned by
a date range that checks every row for a bare-date key, until 2026-12-05.

Ops alert channels, ops-events server-side filters, and generated MCP tool vocabularies (#140)
Jetzt: AdminConfiguration. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * feat(backend, mcp): ops-events server-side field filters + generated MCP tool vocabularies The ops-events read could only narrow by category and date window, so answering "did any AgentEmergencyBreak fire yesterday?" meant pulling a whole category and filtering it client-side — and for the MCP tool that client is a language model, so the question cost a category-sized response in model context. Ops-events filter surface (mirrors the audit-log filter pattern one-for-one): - OpsEventQueryFilters (Shared) + OpsEventFilterRequest (query -> filters + pagination extras) + TableOpsEventRepository.AppendFieldFilters (filters -> OData clauses). BOTH filter builders call the appender — the single-category / unpaged one and the per-partition fan-out builder that adds the RowKey bound — so "no category named" cannot silently return unfiltered rows. - minSeverity expands to an OR-set, not a range: Table Storage compares strings lexicographically and the severity names sort Critical < Error < Info < Warning, so `Severity ge 'Warning'` would drop exactly the alert-worthy half. The ladder now lives in OpsEventSeverity.Rank, shared with OpsAlertDispatchService, so "Warning and above" in a read means what it meant when the alert rules fired. - severity is normalised onto the canonical vocabulary and an unknown value is a 400: `eq` is case-sensitive, so "?severity=warning" would otherwise return an empty page that reads exactly like "no such events happened". eventType stays verbatim — stored rows outlive the vocabulary, so a retired type must remain searchable in the historical window. - Every filter value is folded into the continuation fingerprint and echoed on nextLink; extras are appended AFTER the pre-existing category/tenantId discriminators and skipped when empty, so tokens minted before the filters existed still fingerprint identically. The tenantId drill deliberately stays in memory (OrdinalIgnoreCase; an OData eq would lose rows on casing). - MCP get_ops_events gains eventType / severity / minSeverity plus a `days` shorthand resolved client-side to a concrete dateFrom (a backend-side "last N days" would re-resolve "now" on every page and blow the token fingerprint); an explicit bound always wins over the shorthand. Fixed alongside: the paged cross-category fan-out skipped Platform (Azure Monitor alerts) because its category list had drifted from OpsEventCategory — written from day one, invisible to every paged reader, still visible on the unpaged full-table path. The list is now OpsEventCategory. All plus a reflection coverage test. That drift had a structural cause, so the same round closes it for the MCP as a whole: wire TYPES reached the MCP from day one, but vocabularies did not — types are erased at runtime and z.enum() needs values, so every tool schema hand-typed its own copy with nothing to compare against. The copies had drifted: search_sessions offered 5 of 8 session statuses (no AwaitingUser, no Incomplete — both real stored statuses), both event readers offered 4 of 6 severities (no Debug, no Trace), get_ops_events named 6 of 7 ops categories. - The codegen now emits src/generated/wire-vocabularies.generated.ts (VALUES: session statuses, event severities, ops categories/severities/types, annotation lanes/verdicts) from the manifest sections listed in MCP_VOCABULARIES; SharedManifestParityTests exports the two new ops vocabularies. Freshness is pinned twice — byte-equality against a fresh codegen run in the MCP suite, and the shared-manifests-in-sync CI job. - Tool schemas derive their z.enum() from it and descriptions interpolate the list instead of spelling it. - vocabulary-drift.guard.test.ts ratchets what is left: every inline z.enum([..]) must sit on a baseline naming why it has no backend owner (MCP-local knobs, plus rule type / connection type / CVE risk, which have no C# constants class yet). A new hand-typed list fails, and so does a stale baseline entry. - OpsEventTypes (Shared) gives the 77 ops event types a canonical home: the OpsEventService write sites use the constants (a raw literal now fails OpsEventTypeDualRegisterTests, which moved from regex-scraping to reflection), the manifest exports them, and get_resource(name="ops_event_types") serves categories + severities + types to the model from the generated copy. Suites: Backend 5427, MCP 629 + tsc, Web tsc + vitest 965, generator idempotent. Deploy order: backend BEFORE the MCP redeploy — an MCP that sends filters to an older backend gets silently unfiltered rows back and presents them as filtered. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * docs: register the ops notification channels doc in the index and log The concept doc landed with the feature commits; its index entry and log entry were still uncommitted in the working tree. fix(backend): SessionTenantLookup is claimed first-writer-wins at registration — the sessionId→tenantId row that every Global Admin/Reader cross-tenant session resolve trusts was an unconditional last-writer-wins upsert AFTER the session write keyed by the client-supplied sessionId, so any tenant's device (self-service onboarding) that knew a victim session GUID (portal deep links, Teams/Slack notifications, progress-portal URLs) could re-point the mapping at its own tenant and have every no-tenantId GA read and GA write (globaladmin annotation lane, restore fallback) silently served from a forged session; StoreSessionAsync now claims the row create-only BEFORE any Sessions/SessionsIndex write (409 → read owner: same tenant = re-registration, foreign tenant = SessionTenantConflictException → 409 session_owner_mismatch without disclosing the owner + SessionTenantConflict ops event, nothing written, not fail-soft), the legacy self-heal write is Add-only, ResolveSessionScopeAsync(requireGlobalAdmin) corroborates the resolved tenant against its Sessions row (silent, no operator confirmation), and scripts/Migration/Backfill-SessionTenantLookup.ps1 closed the pre-table window (13509 sessions, 8795 rows added, verify dry-run added=0); no tombstone on deletion by design

fix(backend): registration StartedAt is clamped to the event skew window (+24h / -168h around server time) in the shared register core — the device-supplied anchor drives the SessionsIndex RowKey, the retention filter, TotalToday and the supersede-predecessor comparison, so a far-future value pinned the row at the head of every list (incl. the Global Admin cross-tenant list), inflated today's counters forever and never became a retention candidate; both cert-auth and bootstrap entries flow through ProcessRegisterAsync, re-registration keeps the earlier stored anchor (min-merge)

feat(security): session-owner binding stage 1 (shadow) + dormant agent session rotation
Agent endpoints authenticated per tenant but authorized session writes on a caller-supplied session id. Sessions rows now carry the creating device identity (cert thumbprint + Intune device id from the CN, or bootstrap code + serial) in primary-only Owner* columns. SessionOwnershipPolicy evaluates register / telemetry / error-report requests against it; SessionOwnerBindingObserver records the outcome on the request row, as a warning and as a throttled SessionOwnerMismatch ops event. Nothing is rejected in this stage. Agent: errorCode parsing on 401/403, one-shot session rotation on session_owner_mismatch without feeding the auth-failure tracker, spool drop, agent_started.sessionRotated. feat(security): cert-to-device binding, stage 3 GA-gated shadow
Tenant binding (stage 1) proves the client certificate was issued to this
tenant. It does not prove the certificate belongs to a device the tenant
still has: a cert lifted from a decommissioned machine keeps working.
IntuneDeviceBindingValidator resolves the Intune managedDevice id from the
certificate's Subject CN against the tenant's own managedDevices inventory.
Point-GET on managedDevices/{id} rather than an OData filter, so there is no
filter literal to inject into and a 404 is unambiguous. Cache/retry/transient
contract mirrors CloudPcDeviceValidator.
Shadow only, and visible only to Global Admins (same gate as the DevPrep
association preview) because the open question is a race, not an attack: a
device object can appear after the agent's first call. Every result carries
enrolledDateTime and the log line records enrolledAgeSeconds, so a device
created seconds before the request is distinguishable from a foreign cert.
Grep marker: CERT-DEVICE-BINDING-SHADOW.
The lookup is fire-and-forget like the DevPrep shadow so a cold Graph
round-trip never sits in the agent request path. That rules out stage 1's
request-row dimension (the row is written before the task finishes), hence
the Warning log; widening beyond preview should move to inline + dimension.
Needs DeviceManagementManagedDevices.Read.All, granted per tenant via the
customer script as feature IntuneDeviceBinding. The script's catalog,
ValidateSet and help block stay pinned to GraphFeatureCatalog by
GraphFeatureCatalogSyncTests (extended with the help-block case).
Build 0 warnings, backend 4629/4629, web 874/874, tsc clean, eslint 0.

feat(backend): VerdictPath + PriorStatus/PriorVerdictPath on every session status write
Every status writer now declares the code path that produced the status (VerdictPaths vocabulary, stamped for all statuses — unlike FailureSource which is Failed-only), the timeout classifier returns its rule id, and a write that overrides a prior verdict preserves it as PriorStatus/ PriorVerdictPath (admin mark, late completion, retro). Pre-instrumentation rows derive a path read-side (VerdictPathDerivation, legacy:* when ambiguous). Foundation for the verdict calibration aggregate + radar. fragility audit P5.x + P7: drift guards across SignalR names, RowKeys, config sections, scoped routing
P5.x-A: Constants.SignalRMessages catalog (13 names) + SignalRGroupHelper.HubName;
all backend send sites and web subscriptions typed against the shared-manifest
union (SignalRContext.on/off) — unknown names are tsc errors. Dead eventStream
session-payload handling removed from diagnosis page.
P5.x-B: RowKeyCodec as the single inverted-tick encoder (persisted widths pinned,
UserActivity D20 legacy); DeletionRowDump.Table on tombstone rows with
DeletionTombstoneTables.Resolve replacing the duplicated Contains('_') heuristic
(legacy fallback retained for pre-field manifests).
P7.1: PATCH config/{tenantId}/fields flipped to TenantAdminOrGA (phase 2);
Settings sections save via per-section diff PATCH from sectionFieldMap.ts —
the ~39-field stale round-trip vector is gone; legacy webhook clearing now only
on the notifications save; agent-settings reset no longer discards contact edits.
P7.2/7.3: useGlobalAdminScope is a projection over useAggregatedAdminScope
(resolveConcreteScopeView, test-pinned); scopedApi builders own the tenant/global
endpoint-pair routing for all 11 former hand-rolled call sites; scopedFetch adds
the shared JSON fetch layer.
P7.4: navVisibility extraction + roles x nav-config matrix and nav<->route-guard
consistency test with a ratchet for the two known pre-existing mismatches
(Operator and GlobalReader vs /settings — user decision pending).
P7.5: web build stamp public/version.json (prebuild, GITHUB_SHA), SWA no-store
route, deploy-web verify poll + versions/web.json manifest, Portal Build card.
P7.6: OkAsyncBaselineGuardTests freezes the 44 anonymous-response sites
(shrink-only ratchet).
Verified: dotnet build 0W/0E, Functions.Tests 4123, DecisionCore 519, V2.Core
2206, SummaryDialog 44; tsc 0, ESLint 0, vitest 762/762; mutation proofs for all
new drift nets. Docs: docs/drift-guards.md + versioning.md web row.

w365: CloudPc device validator — cert-CN-bound fallback for Cloud PCs (#127)
* w365: CloudPc device validator — cert-CN-bound fallback for Cloud PCs Windows 365 Cloud PCs are never Autopilot-registered, so the serial lookup (and the Corporate Identifier fallback) structurally reject them and Cloud PC first-connect enrollment could not be monitored. New stage-3 fallback in the device-validation chain: extract the Intune device id from the chain-validated MDM client certificate's Subject CN (field-verified: CN == managedDevice id == cloudPC.managedDeviceId) and require a matching cloudPC object in the claimed tenant (Graph v1.0 virtualEndpoint/cloudPCs, $filter=managedDeviceId eq). Only service-provisioned Cloud PCs have such an object — a regular enrolled non-Autopilot device still ends in the 403, and local W365 markers are never consulted for auth. - Shared: ValidatorType.CloudPc = 5, TenantConfiguration.ValidateCloudPcDevice (default false, tenant-admin writable), GraphAppPermissions.CloudPCReadAll, GraphFeatureCatalog feature W365CloudPcValidation -> CloudPC.Read.All - Backend: CloudPcDeviceValidator (AutopilotDeviceValidator sibling contract: 30/5 min cache, 2 attempts, transient->503; GUID gate before the OData filter; exact-match guard; Graph 403 = definitive "grant missing", not transient), SecurityValidator CN extraction + fallback stage + hard gate, wiring through the 5 agent endpoints, TableConfigRepository persistence - Consent script: W365CloudPcValidation in catalog/ValidateSet/help; NEW GraphFeatureCatalogSyncTests pins C# catalog <-> grant script (previously comment-only lock-step) - Bootstrap dev script v2.3-dev.3: guard 4 (uptime window) exempted while the Cloud-PC relax is active — Cloud PCs run headless for days before first connect; the fresh-profile window is the time anchor there (+ Pester tests) - Web: validation toggle + context plumbing, ValidatedBy "CloudPc" label, privacy-page validation claim generalized (Last updated bumped) - Docs: OKF concept doc backend/cloudpc-device-validation.md + index + log Verified: web tsc clean, ESLint 0 errors (99 pre-existing warnings = ratchet cap, none added). .NET build/tests and Pester run in CI — SDK download and pwsh are unavailable in this sandbox's network policy. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> Claude-Session: https://claude.ai/code/session_01RqEFrcAHhWgCvgJgHGzMuv * w365: agent-side IsCloudPc flag + engine expectation "no Device-ESP phase" Companion to the CloudPc validator: the agent now classifies Windows 365 Cloud PCs locally with the bootstrap's field-verified marker AND (HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows365 key + installed CloudManagedDesktopExtension service, probed via its Services registry key so net48 needs no System.ServiceProcess). SKIP-safe: any error resolves false. Never an auth input - backend admission stays exclusively the cert-CN-bound Graph lookup (ValidatedBy=CloudPc); the two signals are independent and may disagree. Two transport rails: - Session metadata: SessionRegistration.IsCloudPc -> Sessions table (sticky-true OR across re-registrations, IsSelfDeployingProfile pattern) -> SessionsIndex full mirror -> SessionSummary -> new isCloudPc search filter end to end (SearchSessions + QueryRawSessions + pagination fingerprint + all three in-memory predicates; MCP search_sessions / query_raw_sessions params + summary projection; web type, Cloud PC pill, SessionInfoCard enrollment label, CSV export appended column). - Decision engine: isCloudPc rides the EnrollmentFactsObserved payload, recorded set-once for BOTH values in EnrollmentScenarioObservations.CloudPc and annotates the scenario profile reason cloud_pc_first_connect:no_device_esp_expected - the engine-recorded expectation that Device-ESP already ran headless at provisioning and the session starts at Account Setup. Deliberately reason+observation only: no completion arm depends on DeviceSetup, Mode stays AccountSetup/IME- classified (Classic), EspConfig keeps configured-FirstSync semantics. Positive marker surfaces as cloud_pc_marker in the audit-trail census. Updater idempotency: the cloudPcAnnotates gate keeps the generic v1 reason branch from re-claiming the slot on repeat posts (would bump EvidenceOrdinal every post). Additive-nullable observation - no state schema bump (v4 convention), serializer roundtrip pinned. Tests: CloudPcDetector resolver (marker AND, throwing probe), registration body, facts-signal payload shape, updater annotation/idempotency/ self-deploying interplay, reducer observation both values + census fold, serializer roundtrip, index projection superset, sticky-true both directions. Suites: DecisionCore 500, Functions 3941, Agent V2 2154, vitest 632 - all green; tsc web+MCP clean; ESLint 0 errors (cap 99). Docs: cloudpc-device-validation.md follow-up section replaced with the shipped mechanism + log entry. feat: portal static export — eliminate the SWA SSR runtime (cold-start root fix)
output:'export' + trailingSlash: the SWA now serves plain static files; the
managed SSR runtime — the portal's last cold-start source ("Backend call
failure" when a cold start exceeded SWA's 45s limit) — no longer exists.
- Detail routes are query-string based (/sessions?id=, /sessions/inspector?id=,
/diagnosis?id=, /apps/detail?name=, /admin/backups/detail?id=,
/admin/customs-archive/detail?tenantId=&rowKey=). Single-definition builders
in lib/routes.ts; all 21 link sites migrated, duplicate sessionHref helpers
consolidated. Suspense boundaries added everywhere useSearchParams drives
page identity (hard export-build errors otherwise).
- 9 [section] families prerender via server shells (generateStaticParams from
the *NavSections registries, dynamicParams=false, client bodies extracted to
SectionClient) — 37 pages; server redirect() index pages became
ClientRedirect shells. robots/sitemap/og-image routes force-static.
- Legacy PATH-shaped deep links are preserved FOREVER (sent Teams/Slack/
webhook notifications cannot be edited): SWA wildcard rewrites serve the
family page and the globally mounted LegacyPathRedirect rewrites to the
canonical query URL, preserving query + #event hashes (mapping pinned by
lib/__tests__/legacyPathRedirect.test.ts).
- middleware.ts deleted → client-side HostRoutingGuard (prefix list moved to
lib/hostRouting.ts). Legacy /go/[code] route + bootstrapValidation deleted —
BootstrapSessions table verified free of active pre-cutover sessions.
- staticwebapp.config.json now carries production routing: 19 docs/marketing
redirects (order-sensitive), legacy rewrites (exact before wildcard), 404
override, all security headers incl. literalized prod CSP (no unsafe-eval),
Content-Type routes for the extension-less og images. Guarded by the new
utils/__tests__/swaConfig.guard.test.ts. Maintenance mode is now a
first-routes-entry insert, never a whole-file swap (README rewritten).
- Backend notification deep links go through Constants.PortalSessionUrl
(query shape, escaped, pinned); 3 producers migrated.
- deploy-web.yml uploads out/ with is_static_export.
Export build: 79 static pages, no go/ output. Web: tsc clean, vitest 53
files green (618 incl. new guards; 2 deleted legacy suites). Backend:
solution build clean, 3622/3622 tests.

refactor(urls): one guard-enforced URL registry per component, agent downloads move to the alias
Every well-known host -- own subdomains, both blob accounts, the API origin, Graph, Entra login -- now lives in exactly one registry per component: Constants.cs (*BaseUrl) for C#, utils/config.ts for the web app, src/config.ts for the MCP server. lib/hostRouting.ts derives its hostnames from the registry and middleware.ts imports from it, retiring what turned out to be a fourth independent copy of the www/portal host pair. Three new guard tests (backend xUnit, web vitest, MCP vitest) scan non-test source and fail on any enforced host outside its registry. This is the lesson of the EU cutover: the registry existed then too, but LatestVersionsService (feeds the portal's version badge) and ValidateBootstrapCodeFunction carried their own literal copies of the legacy blob host and were missed -- kept working only by the fail-soft legacy mirror in build-agent.yml, whose silent failure would have pinned badge and self-update to stale bits with a green release. Both guards proved themselves on their first run, flagging the middleware host copy and a literal in an MCP tool description. Test files stay exempt on purpose: literals there are independent oracles, and ValidateBootstrapCodeResponseShapeTests now pins the full alias URL against the Constants-built one so registry changes must be acknowledged consciously. The two legacy readers plus the agent SelfUpdater now use Constants.AgentDownloadBaseUrl (download.autopilotmonitor.com/agent); the alias was verified live for version.json, version-v2.json and both ZIPs before the switch. The portal's bootstrap allow-list accepts the alias AND the legacy host (AGENT_DOWNLOAD_HOSTNAMES) for already-deployed customer scripts, which imposes a deploy order: web before or with backend. The legacy keepalive probes and the release mirror stay untouched -- they exist for exactly this transition. Also: the bootstrap short-link now targets www directly instead of riding the registrar's apex 301, and the welcome-mail docs button points at docs. instead of bouncing through www./docs. Suites: backend 3194, agent core 1925, DecisionCore 474, web 582, MCP 449 -- all green; next build verified (it, not tsc, proves the next.config.ts registry import). Docs: docs/url-registry.md. feat(sessions): persist + surface which device-validation path admitted the device
The backend admits agent sessions via up to three device-validation paths (Autopilot S/N lookup, Corporate Identifier, Device Association once DevPrep becomes a hard gate) plus the pre-MDM Bootstrap token — but the winning path was only returned to the agent, never stored, so operators could not see HOW a device was accepted. - SessionRegistration.ValidatedBy: server-populated in ProcessRegisterAsync from the SecurityValidationResult (agent-sent values are overwritten unconditionally) - Sessions row + SessionsIndex mirror + MapToSessionSummary carry ValidatedBy; latest non-Unknown validation wins (Bootstrap sessions upgrade to the cert-path validator on re-register), Unknown preserves the earlier value (tenants with device validation off) - Web: "Device Validation" item on the session detail Session Info card (hidden for legacy sessions / validation-off tenants) - MCP: get_session overview exposes validatedBy; raw endpoints carry it verbatim automatically - Tests: SessionIndexProjectionTests pin the new index column Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

fix(status): honest verdicts across all misclassification audit findings
Misclassification audit 2026-07-16 (1000 non-succeeded sessions, 22 deep
dives) surfaced six systematic misdeclaration sources. This implements
all of them:
1. DecisionCore: HelloNeverObservedPromote in the esp-exit advisory
handler — when the Hello policy read never committed and no wizard
was ever seen, hello_resolution is structurally unresolvable; promote
to AwaitingHello + hello_safety instead of hard-failing a provably
finished enrollment (sessions 2dac8298/7635ab18). Placed after the
enforcement-progress re-arm so active installs still win; advisory-
anchor variant stays exempt.
2. Ingest: both max-lifetime shapes (enrollment_failed/agent_timeout and
agent_shutting_down/max_lifetime) now route through the
EnrollmentTimeoutClassifier instead of hard Failed (tenant a53e67ec:
fully provisioned WG Part 2, user never logged in => AwaitingUser).
agent_timeout no longer counts as HasExplicitFailure; failure
webhooks fire only on actual failure verdicts.
3. Maintenance sweep: dropped the too-broad "IsPreProvisioned ne true"
exclusion (sealed devices are protected by their Pending status);
resumed WG Part-2 runs sweep normally with the window anchored to
ResumedAt. New stage-2 silence guard also fixes a latent bug where an
actively-reporting >5h enrollment could be terminalized mid-run.
4. Registration supersede: a fresh registration resolves older
non-terminal sessions of the same device (serial, placeholder-guarded)
as Incomplete("Superseded by ...") with live SignalR updates — closes
the forever-Pending orphan gap when WG Part 2 runs under a new id.
5. Admin retro-reconcile: POST /api/maintenance/reclassify-legacy
(GlobalAdminOnly, DRY-RUN BY DEFAULT) re-runs the classifier over the
pre-classifier "Session timed out" Failed backlog (~495 rows, sample
projected ~87% misdeclared) and resolves Pending orphans. Requires the
new opt-in allowTerminalReclassification override in the status
writer (admin-marked rows stay untouchable).
6. Polish: "0 of N" AccountSetup rollups keep their total (no more
fabricated "0/0" reasons, "never observed" wording when absent);
late-telemetry reconcile heals Incomplete/AwaitingUser to Succeeded
when straggler evidence proves completion; SLA page knows
AwaitingUser/Incomplete ordinals; script_failed on Success/exit-0 now
names the stderr rule in its message.
Tests: backend 2965, DecisionCore 474 (+6 new), agent 1777, web 557 —
all green.

fix(metrics): gate platform TotalEnrollments increment on fresh registration + document totalAllTime in MCP
- IncrementPlatformStatAsync("TotalEnrollments") fired on EVERY
re-register (agent restarts, WG Part 2 resumes) — the nightly
recompute corrected it, but the public stat visibly overcounted in
between. Now gated on isFreshRegistration alongside the per-tenant
counter (one shared block)
- MCP get_usage_metrics: the tool passes the backend response through,
so sessions.totalAllTime flows automatically — extend the tool
description so callers know the field is cumulative since signup and
retention-independent; bump MCP server to 1.5.1
Backend tests 2876/2876, MCP tsc clean + vitest 393 passed.

feat(metrics): cumulative per-tenant enrollment counter (since signup)
"Total Sessions" on the usage-metrics page is window-bound (90d default)
and capped by retention. Add a retention-independent per-tenant counter
surfaced as "Total Enrollments (since signup)".
- TenantStats row in the PlatformStats table (PK=tenantId, RK="current";
the platform row's "global" PK cannot collide with a tenant GUID)
- Incremented at session registration, fire-and-forget, fresh
registrations only (agent restarts / WG Part 2 resumes re-register the
same session and must not inflate the counter)
- ETag CAS with retries instead of last-writer-wins: lost increments are
permanent (no recompute can recover pruned sessions), and rollout
waves register concurrently
- Nightly platform-stats recompute seeds/self-heals the counter to at
least the live session count (raise-only floor, analog TotalUsers clamp)
- Tenant usage metrics expose SessionMetrics.TotalAllTime =
max(counter, window total); web page shows a "Total Enrollments" card
plus clarifying window note ("Total Sessions" is not a lifetime total)
Backend tests 2876/2876, tsc clean.

feat(notifications): multi-channel notifications + per-rule notify
Phase 1 - named notification channels (1..N per tenant):
- NotificationChannel model (provider/url/headers/enabled + per-event
opt-ins incl. single NotifyOnSlaEvents); stored as JSON column
NotificationChannelsJson, cap 10, fail-soft ParseList
- No data migration: GetNotificationChannels() synthesizes one channel
from the legacy single-webhook fields under stable id "legacy";
web materializes on first save and clears legacy fields
- All dispatch sites (ingest success/failure/white-glove/ESP, SLA breach/
resolved/consecutive, enrollment-start, hardware-rejected, test) route
via SendToChannelsAsync with per-channel toggle filtering
- Per-channel secret redaction (structure stays visible to readers) with
restore-by-id; save-time validation (dup ids, provider, https, headers)
- Settings UI: channel card list with add/remove, event pills, per-channel
test button ({channelId} body, legacy-compatible without body)
Phase 2 - analyze-rule channel notifications:
- NotifyDefault (definition, false for all built-ins, test-guarded) +
Notify/NotifyChannelIds tenant override in RuleStates (two-tier mirror
of MarkSessionAsFailed); custom rules fold into the tenant-owned row
- Dispatch in AnalyzeOnEnrollmentEndHandler only: outcome. Results is
new-findings-only (engine dedup) so no re-notification; manual
"Analyze Now" reanalyze never dispatches
- BuildRuleFiredAlert (eventType analyze_rule_fired): device, serial,
rule, severity, category, confidence, explanation + session deep link
- Rule card: notify toggle + channel target pills, bell header badge
2858/2858 Functions tests (19 new), web tsc + vitest clean.

feat(ratelimit): unify device+user limits as global default + per-tenant override
Replace the denormalized per-tenant RateLimitRequestsPerMinute mirror (and its SaveConfigurationAsync sync job) with compute-at-read resolution: effective limit = per-tenant override ?? global default. Fixes the clobbering bug where a per-tenant edit to the base field was overwritten on the next global config save. - Model: drop TenantConfiguration.RateLimitRequestsPerMinute; add nullable CustomUserRateLimitRequestsPerMinute (device override CustomRateLimit... kept). - RateLimitResolver centralizes precedence (device + user); both paths call it. - SecurityValidator reads the global default (AdminConfigurationService threaded through ValidateSecurityAsync + all device-auth callers); 5-min cached. - UserRateLimitMiddleware: per-tenant user override for tenant-scoped callers only (skipped for HasGlobalScope = GlobalAdmin|GlobalReader); GA -> GA budget, others -> user default. Uses GetConfigurationIfExistsAsync so an unregistered-tenant JWT can no longer auto-create a config row via read endpoints. - Validation: reject rate limits < 1 at the write functions; RateLimitService clamps < 1 to 1 as a safety net (avoids Min()-on-empty / throttle-everything). - Web: Global Settings exposes User + GlobalAdmin limits; tenant modal writes the override fields (blank = inherit); report + usage-plans updated. Legacy RateLimitRequestsPerMinute Table column is ignored on read and dropped on the next Replace save (self-cleaning; no migration). Backend 2577 xUnit green, tsc clean, web 506 vitest green. feat(backend+web): generic JSON webhook provider + custom headers
Adds WebhookProviderType.GenericJson (20) so a tenant can POST a stable, channel-agnostic JSON payload to any HTTPS endpoint - ticketing systems, automation, or an SMTP gateway like Postal - instead of only Teams/Slack. Backend: - GenericJsonRenderer emits schemaVersion 1.0 with eventType, severity, title/summary/themeColor, primaryUrl (first openUrl action), facts[], sections[], actions[]; registered in WebhookNotificationService. - NotificationAlert.EventType set on all 8 builders (enrollment_succeeded/ _failed/_started, preprovisioning_*, hardware_rejected, sla_breach/_resolved, consecutive_failures, test) for consumer-side routing. - Per-tenant WebhookCustomHeadersJson + GetGenericWebhookHeaders() (generic-only, restricted-header denylist, fail-soft parse) for API-key auth; dispatcher gained optional customHeaders applied via HttpRequestMessage; threaded into all 12 tenant call sites (Ops/admin-config sites unchanged). - TableConfigRepository persists the field; UpdateTenantConfigurationFunction validates it (object, string values, RFC-7230 token names, CRLF-injection guard, 8 KB / 25-header caps). Web: - Generic provider option + key->value WebhookHeaderEditor (rendered only for provider 20); leaving the generic provider clears local headers so a later switch back cannot revive stale auth headers; context/types wiring sends headers only when provider===20; report shows Generic JSON provider name. ConfigVersion unchanged (backend-only, no agent payload). No new Constants.EventTypes, so no MCP catalog sync. Still fire-and-forget (no SMTP client / retry by design). New GenericWebhookTests cover renderer, header parsing/denylist, and save-time validation. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> |

fix(backend): correct webhook session URL to /sessions/{id}
Webhook notifications built /session/{tenantId}/{sessionId}, which is a
dead route (404). The web app route is /sessions/{sessionId} (plural,
single segment); tenant is resolved from the session, not the path.

success/failure notifications.

fix(backend): cascade-delete codex follow-ups #2 (F1 DELETE cross-tenant, F2 register guard, F3 tombstone marker, F4 cross-tenant test, bootstrap-bypass)
F1 — DELETE /api/sessions/{sessionId} bypassed cross-tenant validation
because the catalog entry had no TenantScoping. A Global Admin clicking
"delete" on a session in tenant B from the portal silently routed the
delete into their own JWT tenant A, never finding the row. Catalog
entry gains TenantScoping.QueryParam; DeleteSessionFunction switches
from TenantHelper.GetTenantId (JWT-only) to RequestContext.TargetTenantId
(middleware-validated).
F2 — RegisterSessionFunction wrote sessions without any deletion-state
check; a mid-cascade register could mutate a Preparing/Queued/Running
row, and a fresh register past the tombstone could re-Add a row the
manifest no longer covers. Guard now runs at the entry of the shared
ProcessRegisterAsync core — covering BOTH /agent/register-session
(cert-auth) AND BootstrapRegisterSessionFunction (bootstrap-code-auth),
which previously bypassed the cert-auth entry's check. 410 Gone on
lock-state or tombstone hit.
F3 — SessionDeletionGuard's "Sessions row missing -> silent pass"
contract let late ingests / registers slip past a completed cascade
and orphan rows the manifest couldn't describe. New short-lived
SessionTombstones table (PK=tenantId, RK=sessionId) carries a marker
written by SessionDeletionHandler.ExecuteTombstoneAsync BEFORE the
Sessions-row delete, with a 7-day default ExpiresAt. Guard now reads
the marker on a missing Sessions row; live and present -> throws with
sentinel state "Tombstoned" -> 410 Gone. Full-Restore deletes the
marker after re-inserting the Sessions row; partial-restore leaves it
alone (never written). SessionDeletionMaintenanceFunction pruning
step runs even when the kill-switch is active (markers are race
shields, not policy artefacts).
F4 — CrossTenantAccessTests had no coverage for DELETE
sessions/{sessionId}. Theory entries lifted into the same three asserts
that already cover GET — same-tenant allowed, cross-tenant non-GA
blocked, cross-tenant GA allowed — and into the QueryParam-scoping
catalog theory so the regression that produced F1 surfaces in CI.
Bootstrap follow-up — RegisterSessionFunction.Run had the guard inline
but BootstrapRegisterSessionFunction calls _inner.ProcessRegisterAsync
directly, bypassing it. Guard moved into ProcessRegisterAsync so both
entry points hit it before StoreSessionAsync. Added structural wiring
tests (DI field, internal accessibility, bootstrap delegation type)
that fail in CI if the architecture regresses to inline copy.
Tests:
- SessionDeletionGuardTests +3: marker-active blocks, no-marker passes
on missing row, sessions-row-exists skips tombstone probe.
- SessionDeletionHandlerTests +1: marker is written BEFORE the
Sessions-row delete (Moq Callback ordering assertion).
- SessionRestoreServiceTests +2: full-restore deletes marker,
partial-restore does not.
- SessionDeletionMaintenanceFunctionTests +2: prunes expired markers,
pruning runs even with kill-switch active.
- CrossTenantAccessTests +3 inline DELETE cases.
- RegisterSessionGuardWiringTests (NEW): asserts guard DI field,
ProcessRegisterAsync internal accessibility, BootstrapRegisterSession
delegation type.
- CascadeVerificationServiceTests.FakeReader gains the new
GetActiveSessionTombstoneAsync interface member.
Suites: Backend xUnit 1524, Agent V1 530, Agent V2 1042 — all green.

feat(notifications): opt-in "enrollment started" webhook on session registration
Fires Teams/Slack alert at backend session registration. Default off so existing tenants don't get a surprise notification storm. Triggers on fresh session OR WhiteGlove Part 2 resume; agent restart and re-registration of terminal sessions are skipped via pre-read of the session row before StoreSessionAsync. NotifyOnWhiteGloveResume constant in RegisterSessionFunction lets us disable the resume signal with a 1-line patch if it lands badly with end users, without removing the fresh-session signal. v2 single-rail 9: soft admin-action semantics + shutdown-race fixes
Addresses two tasks/todo.md entries from 2026-04-23:
- Soft Admin-Action Semantik + SignalIngress-Race-Fix
- Backend AdminAction-Trigger fix
Backend — authoritative AdminMarkedAction field:
New Session.AdminMarkedAction property (null | "Succeeded" | "Failed")
replaces the fragile heuristic "Status is terminal AND current event is not
a completion marker", which fired falsely on every post-completion event
the agent sent (agent_shutting_down, diagnostics_uploaded,
enrollment_summary_shown). The backend's AdminAction response to /register
and /ingest now reads the explicit field. ISessionRepository +
TableSessionRepository + TableStorageService.Sessions +
Ingest{Events,Telemetry}Function + MarkSession{Succeeded,Failed}Function +
RegisterSessionFunction + EventIngestProcessor all updated to set / clear /
read the new field coherently.
Agent — Program.cs WireTelemetryServerResponse refactor:
Routes TelemetryUploadOrchestrator.ServerResponseReceived through three
distinct semantic paths instead of one terminate_session synthesis:
1. DeviceKillSignal -> terminate_session with forceSelfDestruct=true
(hard admin kill — overrides SelfDestructOnComplete).
2. AdminAction=Succeeded -> single admin_marked_session timeline entry
(informational; agent continues own path).
3. AdminAction=Failed -> EnrollmentTerminationHandler.Handle(outcome=Failed)
(soft shutdown; same analyzers/diagnostics/summary
as a locally-detected failure).
Plus a shutdown-race guard: if shutdownComplete is already set, short-circuit
instead of crashing deep in the dispatcher with an InvalidOperationException
from a disposed SignalIngress. Backed by new HandleAdminActionTests.
Agent — ServerActionDispatcher ingress-disposed race:
Added InvalidOperationException swallow around InformationalEventPost.Emit
for the narrow window between SignalIngress.Stop and
TelemetryUploadOrchestrator.DrainAllAsync completion. Dropped events are
acceptable during teardown; the alternative was a nested Emit failure that
corrupted the outer termination sequence. Backed by new
ServerActionDispatcherTests case.
Tests all green: DecisionCore 133, Agent.V2.Core 586, Functions 727.

fix: wire DeviceAssociationValidator through ValidateSecurityAsync
The DevPrep shadow validator was never executed because the ValidateSecurityAsync extension constructed SecurityValidator without passing DeviceAssociationValidator, so _deviceAssociationValidator was always null and the gate at SecurityValidator.cs:370 silently skipped the lookup — even with ValidateDeviceAssociation=true on the tenant. Inject the validator via DI into all 9 agent-facing functions (RegisterSession, IngestEvents, GetAgentConfig, ReportAgentError, GetDiagnosticsUploadUrl + 4 Bootstrap variants) and thread it through the extension to SecurityValidator.
