Autopilot Monitor - Split License

Copyright (c) 2026 Autopilot Monitor Contributors

This project uses a split licensing model. Different components are
licensed under different terms:

## MIT License

The following components are licensed under the MIT License:

- src/Agent/ - The Autopilot Monitor Agent (deployed to devices)
- src/Shared/ - Shared DTOs, enums, and constants

See src/Agent/LICENSE and src/Shared/LICENSE for the full MIT license text.

## GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 (AGPL-3.0)

The following components are licensed under the AGPL-3.0:

- src/Backend/ - Azure Functions backend
- src/Web/ - Next.js web frontend
- src/McpServer/ - MCP Server

See src/Backend/LICENSE for the full AGPL-3.0 license text.

## Why Split Licensing?

The Agent runs on end-user devices and is licensed under MIT to allow
unrestricted use, modification, and distribution without copyleft
obligations.

The server-side components (Backend, Web, McpServer) are licensed under
AGPL-3.0 to ensure that modifications to the server infrastructure
remain open source, especially when deployed as a network service.

The Shared library is MIT-licensed because it is a dependency of the
MIT-licensed Agent. Using AGPL for Shared would effectively make the
Agent AGPL as well.
